The sustainable development of the region depends on many factors that affect the economic situation, investment attractiveness and prospects for the development of the social sphere. It is impossible to achieve positive changes in this direction without the widespread use of digital infrastructure, which is a powerful driver for the dynamic growth of the economy. Information and communication technologies can significantly speed up business processes involving interdepartmental interaction within the framework of state information systems. The creation of new information services allows the population to solve many problems remotely, without personal contact with the relevant organizations. The year 2020 has shown the need and the possibility of introducing elements of digitalization in various spheres of life in the shortest possible time, which did not seem to be a priority and important before. The effectiveness and quality of such solutions turned out to be so high that it allowed us to solve the tasks with the highest efficiency, in the shortest possible time and with a significant reduction in the use of human resources. The development of digital technologies creates a comfortable environment for large, medium and small businesses, as well as for solving urgent problems of the region’s population.

Health tourism is booming all over the world, and thermal spa tourism in Spain is a type of tourism aimed at integrating with nature, achieving sustainable development. In general, its facilities are located in areas specially protected by environmental legislation. This tourism sector attracts an increasingly wide market segment that has become more demanding and better informed and that more frequently uses the Internet to gather information. Tourists’ shopping and consumption habits are increasingly influenced by new information and communication technologies (ICTs), making these a topic of interest among academics and professionals. Website development has been shown to be an area of innovation for spa facilities, but evidence has also been found that this sector has experienced difficulty in adopting ICTs. This research sought to analyse spa websites’ usability by conducting an exploratory investigation of different websites’ contents. The results reveal that the use of new web technologies by spas is underdeveloped, although these facilities have achieved good positions in Internet search engines due to the synergistic effect of the official tourism websites. That is why most of them tell their story, detail their nature and the protection of their spaces. In this way, spas turn their websites into communication channels that convey to tourists their commitment to the environment and sustainable development.

The information and communication technologies (ICT) impact on labor intensity is one of the actual, but understudied interdisciplinary issues of modern science and practice. Observations and analysis of labor processes in context of the ICT use point out the increase in labor intensity. The purpose of the research is to identify key sources of workers’ labor intensity growth under the ICT development, regardless of the field of professional activity. The article highlights such sources as increase in work strenuousness, growth of number of labor functions and operations, lengthening working day, and also change in work and rest regime. A special focus is on the problem of «leisure time colonization». An ∩-shaped correlation between labor intensity and productivity is presented. The general conclusion that unlimited growth of labor intensity is inconsistent with the sustainable development and effective development of human capital is made.

This chapter introduces information and communication technologies as having the potential of aiding the sustainable development of rural communities through distance education, telemedicine, and the provision of timely information on agriculture and the environment. It argues that telecenters offer practical and community-oriented ways to bring information and communication technologies services to the rural people. Furthermore, based on the outcome of an evaluation of a telecenter in Zimbabwe, it is suggested that in order for a telecenter to offer effective, efficient and sustainable services, local needs assessment would need to be conducted, the telecenter located at a central place, and an awareness-building campaign targeted at potential users.

There is no single field that is unaffected by the developments experienced in information and communication technologies today. However, the questions, Have women been affected by these intensive technological developments and technology utilization—which are efficient in every field—as much as men have? If not, how may this be reversed? and how may technology be made effective in making women economic? arouse curiosity. Therefore, the study was shaped by answering these questions. Another reason why the study took these questions as the basis is that women and technology are of profound importance in the sustainable development and growth of societies. Women's efficient use of technology is a must to turn the changes and developments experienced in information and communication technologies into opportunities and to reach the standards of the information society. Women's economic empowerment and technology were examined, the importance of the subject was emphasized, and recommendations were made within the scope of the study.

Earth Science education is at a turning point framed in a social and cultural way. The idea of sustainability and, consequently, accessibility to the educational system has shown important advances since the publication of the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda. The UNESCO Global Geoparks are internationally recognized as educational engines in pursuit of sustainability and instruction in geosciences, and they are making use of alternative teaching methods to get their message worldwide. Focused on geotourism and development, they try to continuously update themselves in order to offer quality education and accessibility for everyone. Information and communication technologies (ICT’s) keep also evolving and they are used as an interesting support within cognitive development and education at all levels. Voice-over is a classical tool used since the beginning of the recording era (radio, film, television, media ...) to communicate a specific message and transmit it adequately and coherently to the receiver. It is mainly based on the correct use of the human voice to generate sensations and create, in an artistic way, an emotional atmosphere that keeps the viewer attentive to what you want to convey. The nuances, tones and melodic curves mean that no voice is the same as another and the information is disseminated in very different ways depending on that. In recent years, it has been possible to observe a great increase in the use of voice-over and an exemplary care in the selective tone of the messages that has been reflected in sectors such as advertising, general media or scientific documentaries. The promotion of its use in Geoparks as educational support in audiovisuals, presentations or even in geological routes, tailor-made for different collectives, is a key factor to take into account to facilitate the understanding of the information, increase the degree of accessibility and contribute, thus, to the Sustainable Development Goals.
