Decorner is a company engaged in the service of photography. In the development of its business, Decorner has a vision to provide the best service for customers and earn the trust of customers. To realize this vision, we need a means of web-based information. This facility aims to facilitate customers in making reservations photography services for a particular event. In the process of making a website, the first step is to analyze the system in the company, making the system design, design web menu structure and interface design of the web, after it determined the use of the software. In this application, the software used is Adobe Dreamweaver CS6 interface design to manufacture, MySQL as a database to store data off site and PHP scripts for the programming language. The results obtained in this application is the application of information systems web-based photography services reservation at Decorner. On the website Decorner equipped with photography package offered, the page order, the payment confirmation page and testimonials as well as the administrator to manage the content of the page or web content.

The purpose of this chapter is to review and critically evaluate some issues related to Web-based learning. The chapter begins with an introduction to the importance of using the Web in education; then it examines and evaluates such issues. Suggestions and solutions to these issues are offered. These issues are classified into theoretical and design issues. The theoretical issues include: (1) online interaction, (2) learner control, (3) disorientation and cognitive overload. The design issues include: (1) interface design and (2) content structure. The conclusion section summarizes the chapter and points out the importance of considering individual differences in Web-based learning systems design.

Recently, the Web-based learning (WBL) platform, particularly for higher education, has become more crucial due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Thus, due to the increased use of WBL   in higher education, an effective WBL interface design for higher education is truly important in order to attract students to use WBL and to further keep them engaged during learning via the Web-based platform. Therefore, the aim of this study was to determine the aesthetics of web interfaces based on experts’ opinions. This study adopted a quantitative research approach involving a data-gathering survey. Fifteen (15) WBL interfaces were designed based on nine (9) design principles which were balance, proportion, simplicity, alignment, movement, hierarchy, consistency, contrast, and proximity. The results of this study discovered that nine (9) WBL interfaces were determined by the experts as aesthetic interfaces, five (5) WBL interfaces as non-aesthetic and 1 (one) WBL interface was considered neither aesthetic nor non-aesthetic. This finding revealed that six (6) out of nine (9) interfaces had the balance design principle. However, balance was also in most non-aesthetic interfaces. A possible reason that balance was the most design principle in both the aesthetic and the non-aesthetic interfaces is that when designing WBL interfaces, there is a need to consider the combination of the design principles as a whole, and not count the design principles individually. In conclusion, this study's findings could contribute to the knowledge in the Human Computer Interaction domain, specifically in the interface design area.

Blood donation is one of the most significant contributions towards the society. Millions of people need blood transfusions each year. Some may need blood during surgery. Others depend on it after an accident or because they have a disease that requires blood components. This study is aim to develop and evaluate the impact of tracking system in the blood shortage situation which is the urgent requirement of the fresh blood and to improve the communication between the hospital and donor. This system will locate the nearest blood donor in cases of emergencies in fastest and easiest way using GPS.The findings on the views of user on the aspects of interface design, navigation and functionality of the web-based application that is developed are presented. Data analysis was done based on the questionnaire received from few users which are student from Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI). The findings of this study were analysed according to the objectives and the research questions of the project.

Abstract. Self-regulated learning is essential for studying successfully at university. However, students often show deficits in their ability to learn in a self-regulated way. Consequently, it has become crucial to foster students' self-regulated learning at university. The effectiveness of such courses has primarily been investigated in regular class contexts that require physical attendance. However, web-based course formats are currently gaining in importance. Web-based courses have several advantages (e. g., that students can decide when and where they want to study). The question of whether a web-based course is as effective as an attendance-based one has yet to be answered. In a randomized intervention study (N = 186 university students) with two different treatments (attendance-based and web-based courses), it was investigated whether students in the web-based format profited to the same extent as students in the attendance-based course. Kirkpatrick's model was implemented for evaluation. The results showed that the students were very satisfied with both course formats, self-regulated learning was considered useful for studying, and the subjective and objective increases in learning were high. Furthermore, the results showed that self-regulated learning can be fostered in the web-based course as effectively as in the attendance-based course.

The development of technology and internet has contributed to more people viewing on-screen content and an increase the amount of material that can be read directly from a Web-based platform. The transformation from paper-based materials to digital materials on the Web, more or less has affected the readability of the materials in which information presented on the printed and web-based documents is dissimilar. However, only few studies have been carried out on the presentation of information specifically, the readability of the text in web-based platform. Meanwhile, readability is one of the crucial aspect of Web usability and could affect the success of a website. The speed of reading is regarded as a good measure of readability. Therefore, this study aims to measure the readers reading speed for web interfaces. This study followed a quantitative analysis method that used experiments to collect data and involved university students as the test subjects. A Web-based Reading Speed Test System (RSTS) was developed for data collection and analysis purpose. The findings of this study found that the web interface with the combination of blue font color, yellow background color and Arial font type have the highest reading speed. In contrary, web interface that consists of combination black font color, white background color and Arial font type have the lowest reading speed. In addition, the reading speed of male participants was slightly higher than the female participants. To conclude, the results of this study signify that the interface design had a significant impact on the students reading speed for web pages.

KPPN Medan II is one of the government organization units at the Ministry of Finance. Where leaders and employees who work at KPPN Medan II always carry out official trips between cities and outside the city. With these conditions, making SPPD documents experiencing the intensity of official travel activities carried out by employees of KPPN Medan II can be said frequently. So that in making SPPD in KPPN Medan II is still using the manual method that is recording through Microsoft Word which in the sense is less effective and efficient. In naming employees who get official assignments, officers manually entering employee data that receives official travel letters are prone to being lost because data is manually written. The web-based SPPD application is built by applying this prototyping method which is expected to facilitate SPPD KPPN Medan II management officers in making SPPD that is effective, efficient, accurate, time-saving, and not prone to losing SPPD data of KPPN Medan II employees who will has made official trips due to the existence of a special database to accommodate all SPPD files.
