Abstract The transport activity is one of the most expensive processes in the supply chain. Forwarding and transport companies focuses on the optimization of transportation and the reduction of transport costs. The goal of this study is to develop a method which calculate the first (prime) cost of a given transport task more precisely than the state of the art practices. In practice the calculation of transport fee depends on the individual estimation methods of the transport managers, which could result losses for the company. In this study the elaborated calculation method for total first cost is detailed for three types of fulfilment of transport tasks. The most common type of achievement is, when “own vehicle is used with own driver”. A software was also developed for this case based on the elaborated method. Based on the calculations of our software, the first cost can be defined quickly and precisely to realize higher profit.

The order of accounting and features of the methodology of cost expenditures at the concrete enterprises of the field was studied and it has been found out the fact that in the practical activity of the enterprise, they tend to apply the normative method of cost expenditures accounting. It has been conducted a detailed research of enterprises which use the normative method of cost expenditure accounting, and the calculation of the planned cost price. In addition, given advantages of the normative method of cost expenditure accounting have two functions: it provides the operational control over the production cost expenditures by accounting for cost expenditures under current norms and their changes and provides accurate calculation of the cost price of construction products.

The project management information system (PMIS) has recently been developed by using the IT technology in order to implement advanced information management technology to construction industry in Korea. The PMIS has been applied not only to domestic construction projects, but also to some overseas projects executed by Korean construction companies. This study was performed to develop the PMIS that is tailored to the US construction IT market. The US construction IT market has been monopolized by the US-based IT companies, but other companies are recently emerging with competitive technology and market strategy. As a preceding study, existing systems commercially available were analyzed, and the required features of the PMIS were identified by analyzing the core elements of contract, process and cost management for construction projects in the US. The PMIS then was developed based on the aforementioned analysis results. The system includes the document management module with an internal electronic approval system, the cost-plus-based automatic labor cost calculation module, and the progress management module to support the integrated project cost management. In addition, the functionality of the developed system was verified by construction project management experts in the US via questionnaire survey. The PMIS, which was developed in this study, is expected to be applied not only to the US construction IT market as a system specialized for the US construction industry, but also to other overseas markets in the future.

This paper assesses calculation methods in the Visegrad 4 countries (Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia) and, based thereon, recommends and considers activity-based costing (ABC) in the agricultural sector, while evaluating manager knowledge of ABC as an appropriate alternative to outdated, “conventional” methods of calculating costs that are used in practice. It was found that a majority of agricultural holdings in the V4 are currently using conventional cost calculation methods and the most frequent reason for their failure to incorporate ABC is low awareness among managers. Farms and agricultural holdings that have introduced ABC and utilise it to assign their costs evaluate its benefits highly positively, in particular, ABC’s more accurate identification of costs, mainly overheads; more effective cost management and the accuracy of price estimates. From this analysis and assessment, introduction of ABC is recommended for companies in order to obtain the different benefits associated with the method. Successfully implementing ABC leads to a number of advantages, especially in the inevitable decision-making agricultural holdings face about high overhead costs. From the information obtained, managers at agricultural holdings have little information, in most cases, about ABC as an appropriate alternative to the outdated “conventional” cost estimate methods practised today. It is therefore important to work on raising managers' awareness of new approaches to costing by publishing scientific articles with specific examples from practice, pointing out the advantage of the ABC method, especially with high overheads, which are almost the rule in agricultural holdings.

Melalui pendekatan EVM, dapat ditentukan pilihan tindakan mitigasi yang paling optimal, dengan estimasi biaya paling minimal[En] Risk management is an important area of overall project management, and information systems project management in particular. Through good risk management, project leaders and stakeholders expect that the risks to project failure can be minimized by rational efforts. Risk management itself includes many activities, one of which is risk mitigation analysis and planning. An important aspect of risk mitigation analysis and planning is to assess or estimate the risks to determine the priorities and impacts of each mitigation. In general, the easiest thing a stakeholder receives in presenting risk is to calculate the cost of the risk. To perform cost calculation to mitigate risk, one of the approaches is Expected Monetary Value (EVM). Through the EVM approach, the most optimal mitigation options can be determined, with the least cost estimate

The authors analyze national legislation and documents on standardization in order to identify the principles of estimating the cost, cost structure and cost calculation methods in the national regulatory framework that are currently available. measures aimed at reducing the negative environment impact are not always cost-effective, therefore a full, comprehensive assessment of the economic efficiency of measures to implementing the best available technologies can significantly affect the cash flows of companies investing in environmental protection measures and technologies.

Wheeling is a solution to the complexity of transmission network constructing problem. With the wheeling concept, a power plant owner can deliver electricity to its load without having to construct a transmission network. The owner of the power plant can utilize the transmission network belonging to other entities. The wheeling concept is an interesting thing in terms of increasing current renewable energy penetration. This is due to the construction of the transmission network, which is one of the obstacles in increasing renewable energy penetration. Fairness of wheeling costs is still one important topic. The discussion regarding wheeling costs emphasizes that the costs charged to each party involved can meet the fairness principle, which is in accordance with their respective contributions to the implementation of wheeling. Broadly speaking, research related to wheeling can be grouped into research for developing wheeling cost calculation methods and research for developing wheeling cost allocation methods. The development of the wheeling cost calculation method also includes the development of cost components that can be included in the cost calculation. This study summarizes the discussion of wheeling costs on three aspects, namely calculation methods, cost components, and cost allocation mechanisms.
