The rapid development of science and technology requires universities to prepare competent human resources in their fields, one of which is the ability in teaching practice in schools. To improve the students’ ability in teaching practice in both  Indonesia and overseas schools, it requires a strategic effort, such as exchange student program. Therefore, Universitas PGRI Semarang conducts MOU with Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and Institut Pendidikan Guru Malaysia. Through this program, the students are  expected to be able to adapt the character learning and  become a professional teacher in the future.Factors influencing the success of the students in joining the exchange program can be seen from the internal and external aspects. Therefore the purpose of this study is to determine what factors influence the success of teacher students of Universitas PGRI Semarang in Malaysia. The quality of education is really determined by various factors, but the most dominant and important is a teacher's professionalism. Almost all effort on curriculum reform and teaching method implementation, is depends on the teachers ultimately. Any teachers lack of ability of the teaching material, teaching strategy, motivate the students to achieve high perpformance, will not improve the quality of education. The teacher acts as one crucial component in educational system. Therefore, since at the very the beginning, the ability of micro teaching practice at a college should be prepared well in order to be a professional teacher in the future. In the modern education system, teacher candidates are required to have professional skills that include the ability to plan learning, learning implementation, and learning evaluation. Without mastering all these aspects, the teacher will not be able to achieve the learning objectives optimally.

Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and Entrepreneurial Education (EE) are quite abstract and demanding concepts for teacher students. Yet, Key Sustainability Competences and Entrepreneurial Competences entail important qualities of future citizens and workers, and teacher students should become prepared to accommodate education for these competencies in their teaching practice. This paper explores teacher students’ process of sense-making of sustainable development and how becoming a teacher who practices ESD connects with entrepreneurship. EE serves as a good mirroring surface to ESD as they both have their roots in Transformative Learning (TL) but pursue transformation towards different goals. The case study follows the vocational teacher education (VTE) students’ sensemaking of Sustainable Development as a part of teacher’s work during one semester which included integrated Thematic Studies of Sustainable Development. The qualitative content analysis of students’ texts focused on signs of transformative learning and was guided by the dimensions of sustainable development and learning goals set for teacher’s sustainability competences in the VTE curriculum. The results indicate that transformative learning is possible. Furthermore, they address the importance of certain entrepreneurial capabilities in the actualization of change agency.

Abstract In the presented article, we deal with teachers’ personality and their tasks in vocational education. Based on the opinions of professionals, we characterized teachers and the factors influencing the creation process of their personality. Teachers can be characterised based on their job positions in schools, e.g. a class teacher, the school counsellor, the director, there are plenty of them in every school. Teachers’ personality is being formed throughout their teaching practice by the experience they gain. They get the basics during their teacher training when they are getting prepared for the teaching profession. We focused our attention on the issues of teachers’ professional identity. In this context, we were interested in the students of Dubnica Institute of Technology in Dubnica nad Váhom and in their perception of their studies. Our partial goal was to analyse students’ motivation to take part in teacher training which we deal with in our paper.

The rapid development of information and communication technology (ICT) in this 21st century arises a new major challenge in education. 21st century learning challenges require the assessment instrument to be integrated with the ICT competences which is not yet accomplished by the existing assessment instrument. This study aims to design ICT competence-integrated assessment instruments of practical key teaching competences courses. This research adapted Design and Development Research (DDR). The used of DDR stages are need analyzing, designing. prototype and evaluation. The data were taken from the existing assessment instruments from seven different universities in Indonesia. The result of the research shows that first, the existing assessment instruments make use of ICT in extent of technology literacy where the ICT competences indicators that mostly used were using word processing software by following standard conventions, using ICT resources to enhance their productivity and download resources from websites. Second, based on the need analysis the researcher designed the procedures of integrating ICT competences into table of specification of practical key teaching competences. Third, the researcher designed the table of specifications of practical key teaching competences course namely, lesson course planning, Instruction Management and Monitoring and Teaching Practice. Fourth the researcher designed the ICT competences- integrated assessment instrument test of practical key teaching competences course namely, lesson course planning, Instruction Management and Monitoring and Teaching Practice. The last, the researcher designed the ICT competences-integrated assessment instrument non-test of practical key teaching competences course namely, lesson course planning, Instruction Management and Monitoring and Teaching Practice.

Digital natives are a new cultural generation born of aggressive digital technology penetration. The rapid development of technology is influencing their learning habits and behaviours, and consequently this generation has a unique way of thinking and learning. The purpose of this research is to analyse the behaviours and preferences of digital natives through understanding their preferences in the use of technology and their cultural values, as a basic strategy for selecting learning methods. This research uses a survey method to explore the use of technology and the cultural values of digital natives on accounting courses. The cultural values referred to in this paper are Hofstede's cultural dimensions, namely power distance, individualism, masculinity, uncertainty avoidance and long-term orientation. The research results reveal two main findings: 1) the level of use of technology for non-academic purposes tended to be high, and the preference of the students was to use smartphones rather than fixed PCs or laptops. This suggests that lecturers must actively use technology in the classroom, thus ensuring that pre-service accountancy teaching students are themselves ready to use technology in their teaching practice; 2) analysis results of Hofstede’s cultural dimensions indicate that the students prefer learning in technological environments, informal learning structures, unlimited space and time, that they expect quick feedback, prefer teamworking, and prefer active learning rather than reading and listening. These results can be used as the basis for designing quality learning methods.

This research describes factors that influence teachers’ beliefs on the use of authentic materials to teach listening. This issue points out on what factors that shape their beliefs on authentic materials which are considered as good media to teach listening and support the learning and teaching practice. Two English teachers who constantly use authentic materials for listening skill are as the subject of this research. Observation, questionnaire and interview are administered to gain the data. The data are analyzed by using interactive model proposed by Miles and Huberman. The result shows that factors influencing teachers’ beliefs are: a) challenging points of authentic materials; b) easy access to authentic materials; c) the availability of the materials; d) students’ interest; e) worskop/training and personal experience.
