This type of research uses a quantitative approach.  The quantitative approach is the approach used in research by measuring the indicators of the research variables in order to obtain an overview between these variables. Quantitative research is used to examine the population or sample. Data is collected using instruments or measuring instruments, then analyzed statistically or quantitatively. The Universitas 17 Agustus 1945 Surabaya runs the Independent Student Exchange program by accepting 32 inbound students and sending outbound students as many as 167 students throughout Indonesia outside Java, where the archipelago module is a compulsory subject offered by the Ministry of Education and Research and Technology. In this activity, there were several recipient universities that only provided online learning, so students couldn’t directly explore the knowledge gained during the PMM program. However, this doesn’t dampen the enthusiasm of students to continue learning about the diversity that exists in Indonesia.

Opioid use disorders (OUD) is a relapsing condition with high mortality. Opioid maintenance treatment (OMT) reduces heroin use, and overall morbidity and mortality. The prevalence of psychiatric and substance use disorders, potential baseline predictors for psychiatric hospitalization, and psychiatric diagnoses at follow-up were investigated and may give hints about possible preventative strategies. The medical records for 71 patients were reviewed 36 months following referral to OMT from a needle exchange program (NEP). Their psychiatric diagnoses and hospitalizations were identified. Their baseline characteristics were assessed for potential differences between hospitalized versus non-hospitalized patients and between patients with and without psychiatric diagnoses in a longitudinal observational study without controls. A regression analysis was performed to identify predictors for hospitalization when controlling for OMT status. Sixty-five percent of the patients were hospitalized at least once with a psychiatric diagnosis. Substance-related reasons were prevalent, and detoxification occurred among 59% of patients, with sedative- hypnotics (benzodiazepines, zopiclone, zolpidem, and pregabalin) being the substance used by 52% of patients. Baseline use of these drugs and/or buprenorphine predicted for hospitalization when controlling for OMT status. During the follow-up period, 72% of patients met the criteria for a psychiatric diagnosis other than OUD. The prevalence of non-substance use disorders overlapping with SUD was 41%, and that overlapping with anxiety disorder was 27% of all participants. Increased attention to psychiatric co-occurring disorders in the treatment of OUD is required and the importance of addressing sedative-hypnotics use when initiating OMT is highlighted.

The internship program is able to improve students' soft skills and hard skills as well as solve problems that exist in the industrial world. The student exchange program is able to improve student competence in participating in the transfer of existing knowledge at partner universities. Student certification and training programs are able to improve student scientific discipline in identifying problems and solving problems according to the scientific field. The Thematic Real Work Lecture Program is able to understand the culture, social and economics of the community so that students have the ability to draft village regulations and socialize them. Students' abilities in internships, student exchanges, student certification and training, and thematic Real Work Lecture activities are expected to enable students to achieve KPI 1, namely Graduates Get Decent Work.

The Minister of Education and Culture Regulation Number 3 and 20 of 2020, students are given the right to study for a maximum of three semesters of study outside the study program and campus through the Merdeka Learning-Independent Campus or “Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka” (MBKM) Program and the Pancasila student profile as the embodiment of Indonesian students. “Merdeka” Student Exchange Program or “Program Pertukaran Mahasiswa” (PMM) to accommodate the MBKM program and the realization of the Pancasila student profile. In the implementation of PMM, there are learning activities that provide experiences of diversity, inspiration, reflection, and national social contribution through the Nusantara Module (MN). The MN provides an opportunity to implement the concept of Pancasila student character in the implementation of PMM at the University of Merdeka Malang. The purpose of this study was to obtain the concept of the character of Pancasila students in higher education. The research method used descriptive qualitative, with the entire population of the PMM participants in the University of Merdeka Malang. Data were obtained through observation, questionnaires, interviews, and FGDs. The result is the concept of Pancasila character in higher education could be supported by the PMM program with the MN activities.

In supporting the student exchange program at the national Program "Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka" (MBKM), the department needs to prepare courses that can be superior to be offered to students. In the Accounting Department University of Merdeka Malang, there are accounting practicum courses. This course provides students with skills in utilizing accounting software. This study wants to see the technology acceptance model for using Accurate Accounting V3 software for cross-departmental students who are the object of research in an experimental class. Data was obtained by distributing questionnaires to class participants who had completed the practicum. By using path analysis, the results show that perceived usefulness and perceived convenience affect user behavior interest. Perceived usefulness and interest in user behavior affect software to use, while perceived ease of use does not affect software usage decisions. Interest in user behavior is proven as an intervening variable on the effect of perceived usefulness on the use of the software.

In United States (U.S.), government-funded organizations, such as NLDAC, reimburse travel and subsistence expenses incurred during living-organ donation process. However, in Iran, there is a non-governmental organization called Iranian Kidney Foundation (IKF) that funds the direct and indirect costs of donors through charitable donations and contributions from participants in the exchange program. In this article, for countries outside the U.S. that currently use an equality approach, we propose a potential new compensation-apportionment approach (equitable approach) for kidney-exchange chains and compare it with the currently available system (equality approach) in terms of the apportionment of compensation in a kidney-exchange chain to cover the expenses incurred by the initiating living donor of the chain in the act of donation. To this end, we propose a mechanism to apportion compensation among all participating pairs based on the equity approach by utilizing a prediction model to calculate the probability of graft survival in each transplant operation. These probabilities are then used to define the utility of any transplantation, considering the quality of each pair’s donated and received kidney in the chain. Afterward, the corresponding cost is apportioned by a mechanism based on the normalized differences between the utility of donated and received kidneys for each incompatible pair of the chain. In summary, we demonstrate that by utilizing the equitable approach, there is more fairness and equity in the allocation of resources in organ-procurement systems, which results in more satisfaction among incompatible pairs. Additional future prospective studies are needed to assess this proposed equitable approach for kidney-exchange chains in countries outside the U.S., such as Iran, that currently use an equality approach.

Virtual Exchange (VE) provides a strategic approach for higher education institutions to internationalize. This study investigated how a USA Community College (US-CC) system and their partners started and grew their internationalization program through VE with teacher training, assessment, and support from a nonprofit bridge organization. Data were collected on program growth over three years, 2017-20, totaling 13 modules, 29 faculty, and 14 campuses. Cumulatively, students completed 341 pre-module and 202 post-module surveys which assessed the community colleges’ student learning goals: intercultural competence and awareness of the wider world, confidence in finding success in the global workforce, and ability to deploy 21st century skills (e.g. technology and teamwork). Quantitative and qualitative results provided concrete and nuanced evidence of program effectiveness and suggested positive impact. Our findings have two main implications: (1) positive student impact can help grow and sustain VE and other international programming; and (2) teacher training informed by and adapted with student assessment can help institutionalize VE programs.

The article focuses on a conceptual difference between the institutes of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and Bulgarian Universities. University lecturers must be internationally recognizable with their research results and constantly master modern teaching methods and technologies. Scientists in the academy make efforts to follow the scientific tendencies, but have virtually no opportunity to go beyond academic forums and to socialize their scientific results. In the example of research and teaching of Ethnology, the lack of opportunity for young scientists from the academy to be prepared for teaching at different university degrees isconsidered. The positive and negative aspects of the Erasmus academic exchange program (as an opportunity for getting some fractional lecturing experience) is discussed in the terms of teaching experience. We also present the first and only project, held few years ago in Bulgaria, aiming to prepare young scientists from the Academy to teach Ethnology at a university.
