AbstractThe paper considers method of determination of solar radiation amount falling on arbitrarily oriented surface of a structure. Provided method allows calculation of influence of structure’s geographical coordinates, spatial orientation of structure’s surface, day of year and time of day on received amount of solar radiation. The method is intended for determination of thermal stresses and deformations of sheet steel structures caused by action of direct solar radiation. Examples show usage of provided method.

Thin-film grating coatings are proposed for smart windows to angular selective filtering of solar radiation. The gratings are formed by absorptive, reflective, or scattering parallel strips (made of chromogenic or other materials) alternating with directionally transmissive strips (untreated surface of pure glass) on two surfaces of the window pane(s). The smart window with grating optical filter has angular selective light transmission and partially or completely blocks the direct solar radiation in a preset angular range and transmits the scattered and reflected radiation without using the daylight redistribution devices. The results of numerical simulation and experimental confirmation of optimum slope angle of the strips on the pane(s), their widths, and relative position on two surfaces to minimize the directional light transmission of the window at the preset date and time of day taking into account orientation of the window to the cardinal, the latitude of the building, and the seasonal and daily distribution of the solar radiation intensity are demonstrated.

Introduction. The article analyzes and selects the most rational methods for calculating the heat gain from solar radiation. The correct calculation of this component of the heat balance allows you to correctly determine the power of the projected cabin climate system, which will ensure optimal working conditions at the workplace of mobile car operators. Problem Statement. The objective of this study is to analyze and select a rational method for calculating heat gain from solar radiation for the correct determination of the thermal load on the climate system of the cabin of a mobile car. Theoretical Part. To implement the task, the most common methods for calculating solar radiation were described and analyzed in detail and the most accurate ones were recommended. Conclusions. The more labor-intensive method of V.N. Bogoslovskiy (taking into account the time of day) can be recommended for automated calculations in Excel, and the method of P.Y. Gamburg (taking into account the sides of the horizon) — for comparative estimated engineering calculations. When conducting "in-depth" model calculations and accounting for solar radiation, the ASHRAE method is explicitly suitable, which has two important advantages: it takes into account the solar factor in relation to a specific type of glazing and is adapted for automated calculations in ANSYS FLUENT.

A method for determination of Cr, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Hg and Pb in waters by Energy Dispersive X Ray Fluorescence (EDXRF) was implemented, using a radioisotopic source of 238Pu. For previous concentration was employed a procedure including a coprecipitation step with ammonium pyrrolidinedithiocarbamate (APDC) as quelant agent, the separation of the phases by filtration, the measurement of filter by EDXRF and quantification by a thin layer absolute method. Sensitivity curves for K and L lines were obtained respectively. The sensitivity for most elements was greater by an order of magnitude in the case of measurement with a source of 238Pu instead of 109Cd, which means a considerable decrease in measurement times. The influence of the concentration in the precipitation efficiency was evaluated for each element. In all cases the recoveries are close to 100%, for this reason it can be affirmed that the method of determination of the studied elements is quantitative. Metrological parameters of the method such as trueness, precision, detection limit and uncertainty were calculated. A procedure to calculate the uncertainty of the method was elaborated; the most significant source of uncertainty for the thin layer EDXRF method is associated with the determination of instrumental sensitivities. The error associated with the determination, expressed as expanded uncertainty (in %), varied from 15.4% for low element concentrations (2.5-5 μg/L) to 5.4% for the higher concentration range (20-25 μg/L).

Determination of causes of crack-like defects in the heavy plate steel 09Г2С is a crucial task, the solution of which is aimed at improving the mechanical safety of oil storage steel vertical tanks. In order to determine the causes for the formation of a group of crack-like defects oriented towards rolling, revealed during grinding and magnetic inspection of the tank wall surface near the vertical weld, the analysis of the chemical composition and testing of the mechanical properties of heavy plate steel were carried out, including the determination of the anisotropy of impact toughness in the temperature range from +20 to –75 °С, analysis of metal microstructure in the area of defect formation on transversal sections and rolled surface. Impact bending tests of 09Г2С heavy plate steel after controlled rolling in longitudinal and transverse directions showed no anisotropy of impact toughness, as well as high purity of steel as for sulfur and titanium, which at higher content causes impact toughness anisotropy. The revealed features of metal microstructure near the defects made it possible to conclude that the crack-like defects were formed during the rolling of gas bubbles at the stage of preparing semi-finished rolled products for finishing rolling. One of the possible methods to prevent such defects from getting into finished rolled products is the use of automated systems of visual inspection of rolled products in the manufacturing process.
