Abstract Where should office building concentrations be located in cities? What kind of factors has an influence on its locations? The aim of the research is to examine factors of office locations in cities. Selected office building concentrations in European cities were investigated as case studies. The research method was the spatial decision paradigm. The style, one of the main elements of the paradigm, was selected to answer the research question. The style was defined a composition of existing urban structures. Basic elements of urban composition in selected European cities were examined closely. Research results are conditions of office building concentration locations in European cities in term of urban composition. Such knowledge should be a base of decision-making processe during preparing master plans and city development plans.

In Hungary, there are a large number of built heritage. Of these, this current research focuses on the castles. Nowadays castles can be filled with many functions, such as schools, common lodging houses, hospitals or residential buildings. The most optimal form of usage is tourism utilization, such as museums, hotels, event venues. Organizing festivals is also a tool for this, it generates revenue for the castle, and makes it widely available to enhance the visibility and acquaintance of the venues. A festival is also intended to suffice the needs of tourists and local people, and these castles provide a suitable scene for this. Thus, the current research aims to present and evaluate the form of utilization of castles in which festivals are organized. The study aims to answer the research question through several case studies, that festivals contribute to the survival of the castles as they generate revenue and create more attractive destinations. To answer this question, a primary research method is needed where interviews with the owners of the venues and the festival directors come to the fore. In addition, the available secondary data are required that numerical support the generated revenue and number of visitors alike. In the end, the research will be carried out where both the utilization of the castles and the festival tourism will be of paramount importance and a joint impact assessment will be implemented.

This chapter is dedicated to information on the macro trends shaping the future of our contemporary urbanisation processes, including environmental support of the city development and management issues, definition of factors that should allow the transformation of the existing cities, and possibilities for future changes and evolutions. Case studies of European cities management will be presented. The main issues discussed will be approach to the circular of energy and water sources, air and building materials, and the rationality and efficiency of their use.

The safety or risk assessment of a pharmacotherapeutic agent begins early in its development and continues throughout its use cycle. The practice of pharmacoepidemiology is the art of using the sciences and the tools of science to generate information about pharmaceutical outcomes, including associated risks, in the postmarketing environment. A pharmacoepidemiologist must be capable of functioning with a matrix constructed of three components: a knowledge base, a conceptual framework, and an interpretive framework. From this perspective one can establish surveillance schemes, or understand a posed research question, select strategies, apply methodologies, and interpret the results of purposeful investigations. When conveyed to the risk manager, appropriately interpreted results of a properly conducted risk assessment can be used in regulatory decision making. Seven case studies are presented as examples of this approach.

This chapter explores the case study, which is a very common research method in the field of social sciences. Case studies are important because they provide the examination of samples of a larger atmosphere, therefore enabling researchers with a variety of possibilities: to deepen the analysis of a particular occurrence in the world, to contribute to an existing theoretical framework, and to serve as an instrument of comparative analysis. Although it might sound simplistic, the research framework for case studies usually has to satisfy a few key points. Case studies can be divided into separate categories: exploratory, descriptive, and explanatory. They are also directly related to the type of research question being posed from the traditional five types of survey questions: ‘who’, ‘what’, ‘where’, ‘how’, and ‘why’. One can often find case studies among both qualitative and quantitative approaches, focusing on a case study per se or on cross-case method.

City development plans i.e. master plans and planning strategies are conventional tools which has been historically used for city planning. However it is realized that the process of implementation has been neglected vis-à-vis formulation. This research emphasis on the significant gap between implementation of city Development plan and its integration with Advance Technological tools and engineering processes. The paper looks into key indications from past documentation and studies on implementation strategies and intervention of technological tools with respect to issues of city development plans. The review of collection of 131articles represents a valuable research contribution and development in the related field. Constructed on these findings, three research areas of potential interests are identified. This paper puts forth research based findings on execution methodology with integration of technological tools like GIS, MIS, APS and strategies for effective implementation than to formulating which is missing in city development planning over a period
