Concrete is hard but liable to break easily. Hybrid fiber reinforced concrete offers several economical and technical benefits. The use of fibers extends its possibilities. The hybridization of different types of fibers may play important roles in arresting cracks and thus achieve high performance of concrete. The main reason for adding glass ,steel and polypropylene to improve the ductility of concrete. The present research work is aimed at studying, the deep beam using three different types of fibers such as glass 0.3%, steel 0.75% & 1% and polypropylene fibers 0.3% were added to volume of concrete. The mix design has been arrived based on IS code method for M20 grade of concrete. An investigation is carried out to evaluate the fresh Properties and mechanical Properties of Hybrid Fiber Reinforced Concrete (HFRC). The result shows that hybrid fiber reinforced deep beams achieved better performance than the ordinary RC deep beam under application of load.

This paper focuses on comparing the behavior of RC tension members with and without the addition of polypropylene fibers at various corrosion levels. Eight cylindrical tensile specimens were tested to evaluate their tension-stiffening and cracking behavior. The content of polypropylene fiber added into the concrete mix was the main variable (0.25%, 0.50%, 0.75%, and 1.0% of total volume). The corrosion level was varied from slight (5%), medium (10%) to severe (30%) and, like the other variables, applied only to 1.0% polypropylene fiber-reinforced concrete (PFRC) specimens. The test results showed that the fiber addition significantly increased the tension-stiffening effect but was largely unable to reduce the effect of bond degradation caused by corrosion. Moreover, the addition of polypropylene fibers was able to improve the cracking behavior in terms of crack propagation, as shown by smaller crack spacing compared to the specimen without fiber addition at the same corrosion level.

The paper presents results of the statistical generalization of experimental data on the strength and deformability of fiber-reinforced concrete with different levels of bulk dispersion reinforcement. The range of the optimal content of reinforcing elements is established according to the criteria for ensuring maximum crack resistance and strength of the matrix (concrete).

In this work was carried out a study the purpose of which was the development of physical and mechanical modeling of the processes of deformation and destruction of fiber-reinforced concrete. The process of deformation and the mechanism of destruction of fiber-reinforced concrete reinforced with low-modulus polypropylene fibers have been investigated. The method has been improved and the characteristic of adhesion of polypropylene fiber to the matrix has been determined. Theoretical models for forecasting the behavior of fiber-reinforced concrete reinforced with polypropylene fiber under load have been developed.

The incorporation of a small amount of steel fibers or fine polypropylene fibers in concrete can increase its impact resistance. But steel fiber has the problems of corrosion, high cost and high mess. The effect of fine polypropylene fibers in inhibiting the impact crack is not effective. The research was taken to measure the properties of fresh concrete mixture of Synthetic Macro-fiber reinforced concrete. And investigated the influence of fiber length and volume fraction on the impact resistance of Synthetic Macro-fiber reinforced concrete. The results showed that these fibers could obviously improve the impact resistance of concrete. There was a best Synthetic Macro-fiber volume fraction. The length of the Synthetic Macro-fiber had a certain influence on the impact resistance of concrete.

The paper presented aimed at examining the effect of a fiber-reinforced concrete layer in the compressed zone on the mechanical properties of composite fiber-reinforced concrete slabs. Steel fibers (SF) and polypropylene fibers (PP) in the amount of 1% in relation to the weight of the concrete mix were used as reinforcement fibers. The mixture compositions were developed for the reference concrete, steel fiber concrete and polypropylene fiber concrete. The mechanical properties of the concrete obtained from the designed mixes such as compressive strength, bending strength, modulus of elasticity and frost resistance were tested. The main research elements, i.e., slabs with a reinforced compression zone in the form of a 30 mm layer of concrete with PP or SF were made and tested. The results obtained were compared with a plate made without a strengthening layer. The bending resistance, load capacity and deflection tests were performed on the slabs. A scheme of crack development during the test and a numerical model for the slab element were also devised. The study showed that the composite slabs with fiber-reinforced concrete with PP in the upper layer achieved 12% higher load capacity, with respect to the reference slabs.
