A polymer blends (PVA/PEG) have been prepared at various concentrations(6%, 8%, 10%, 12%, and 14%) g /ml by dissolving different weights from the powders{Pva and Peg}.The behavior of this mixture has been studied utilize some physical properties such as ultrasonic absorption coefficient, relaxation amplitude, specific acoustic Impedance, compression, bulk modulus, shear viscosity, and Reduced viscosity. The outcomes referenced that each of these characteristics increased with increasing concentration of polymeric solutions, "while compressibility decreased with increasing concentration solutions".

The influence of sodium dodecyl sulphate (SDS) on the adsorption properties of non-ionic polymers, i.e. polyethylene glycol (PEG) and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), at the Al2O3/solution interface was studied. Measurements for various molecular weights and for various amounts of functional groups on the polymer macromolecules were undertaken and the results obtained discussed in the light of these variations. Studies of the mutual interactions of the polymer–surfactant system in aqueous solution were helpful in explaining the equilibria involved in the Al2O3/polymer solution system in the presence of SDS. The thickness of the adsorption layer was determined by viscometric methods and the influence of the degree of hydrolysis of PVA on the structure of the adsorption layer demonstrated.

In the present study impact of structural variations on pre-hollow/micro-porous yarn's tensile and physical properties were investigated in view of their processing and ultimate product quality. The results show that: the core pre-hollow yarns and doubled pre-hollow yarns possessing continuous polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) filaments are better in tensile behavior than blended pre-hollow yarns which contain discrete PVA staple fibers. The doubled pre-hollow yarns were found to have the lowest unevenness, thick places, thin places and total imperfections followed by blended pre-hollow and core pre-hollow yarns, while blended pre-hollow yarns showed lowest number of neps. The core pre-hollow yarns exhibit lowest hairiness followed by blended pre-hollow yarns and doubled pre-hollow yarns. Use of double roving during spinning is beneficial for improving yarn strength, unevenness imperfections and hairiness in all the pre-hollow yarns.

In this study, high purity gamma-alumina nanopowders with crystalline structures have been prepared via a sol–gel process by waste metal aluminum, HCl, NaOH, Polyethylene glycol (PEG) and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA). Polyethylene glycol and polyvinyl alcohol have been used as stabilizing agents. The characterization of the samples has been performed utilizing XRD, FTIR, SEM, N2 adsorption/desorption techniques. Prepared samples of gamma-alumina at 800∘C with PEG has an average crystallite size of 2.58[Formula: see text]nm, average particle size of 21[Formula: see text]nm, specific surface area (SSA) of 65.55[Formula: see text]m2/g, and pore volume of [Formula: see text]0.06[Formula: see text]cm3/g. The average crystallite size of 3.07[Formula: see text]nm, average particle size of 31[Formula: see text]nm, specific surface area of 131.25[Formula: see text]m2/g, and pore volume of [Formula: see text]0.14[Formula: see text]cm3/g, were obtained using PVA surfactant.
