<p>The goal of research is to evaluate the current state of phytodiversity of Martyniachyi Island in order to predict its change under the bird influence. The botanical research was carried out by traditional methods. Species and Families are presented according to Vascular plants of Ukraine Checklist (Mosyakin, Fedoronchuk, 1999). The article presents the latest data on phytodiversity of Martyniachyi Island located in the Sivash Gulf of Azov Sea. Contemporary taxonomy (31 species of vascular plants) and syntaxonomy diversity (11 associations from 7 formations) of the island is established. The flora of the island consists mainly of annual plant species (80.6 %). This testifies to the ephemerality of “nature” communities of the island, which develop under the influence of colonial bird activity. Species diversity of communities is low, that is because of island isolation and small area, and also because of significant bird influence. Among the plant communities the formation <em>Si</em><em>symbrieta</em><em> </em><em>loeselii</em> is dominate. Communities of formations <em>Anisant</em><em>h</em><em>eta</em><em> </em><em>sterilis</em><em>, </em><em>Asperugeta procumbens, Atriplexideta</em><em> </em><em>tataricae</em><em>, </em><em>Atriplexideta</em><em> </em><em>aucherii</em><em>,</em><em> Hyoscyameta nigrii,</em> <em>Suaedeta</em><em> </em><em>confusae</em> occupy comparatively less island area. Synthaxonomy of the island vegetation based on the ecological and floristic classification includes plant communities from 2 classes, 2 alliances, 3 units, and 6 associations.</p><p>The principal factor influenced the quantitative diversity of island vegetation and its spatial structure is the influence of colonial bird settlement, namely <em>Laridae</em>.</p>

Distribution and composition of plant communities of meadows of the river Turja valley in highaltitude range from 150 to 800 m above sea level are presented in the article. According to the floristic classification 53 associations that belong to 13 unions, 7 orders and 4 classes are found out, described, identified and mapped. In the course of the flora studies 375 species of vascular plants, mosses and lichenes are found out. Key words: khorology, meadow communities, river Turja valley, management of meadows, rare species.

A detailed study of vascular plants in the Tobolinka Nature Reserve (Augustów Forest, NE Poland) was carried out in July 2016 and February 2020. The reserve covers a very small area, and the diversity of its plant communities is very low due to the high acidity of its habitats (extremely poor fen surrounding a small polyhumic lake; wet and mesic pine forest). Only 48 species were recorded, including five species red-listed nationally (e.g. Goodyera repens, Scheuchzeria palustris).

The results of a sintaxonomical study of plant communities of the Yamozero lake (the North-East of the European part of Russia) are presented. The diversity of the aquatic and helophytic vegetation of the Yamozero lake consists of 16 associations and 2 communities of 6 unions, 4 orders and 2 classes of the floristic classification: Potamogetonetea (7 associations, 2 communities), Phragmito-Magnocaricetea (9 associations). Many of described associations are widely distributed in the Central and the Eastern Europe. Some associations have the boundaries of their ranges. Some communities include 2 rare species of regional level: Isoetes setacea and Sagittaria natans.

The International conference “Flora and conservation in the Caucasus: history and current state of knowledge” dedicated to the 130-year anniversary of the Perkalsky Arboretum took place at 22–25 of May 2019 in Pyatigorsk (Stavropol Territory) on the base of the Pyatigorsk Museum of local lore and natural history. The participants were from 11 cities of Russia and 7 Republics of the Caucasus and represented 14 institutions. Proceedings of the conference were published by the beginning of the meeting the book of abstracts includes 49 papers on the study of vascular plants, bryophytes, lichens and fungi, plant communities, as well as the protection of rare and endangered species, unique plant communities, and ecological problems in the Caucasus. The following geobotanical topics were highlighted in 13 papers: forest communities (3 reports), meadow and steppe vegetation (2), xeric open forests (2), communities of ecotone areas (1), structure of populations of rare plant species (3), as well as the history and current status of nature protected areas (2). The great emphasis has been focused on the study of floristic composition and plant populations. Thus, the conference showed that very few studies от vegetation are currently carried out in the Caucasus, and a lot of districts are not affected by the research. The greatest attention is paid to forest vegetation while meadow, steppe, alpine heath and xerophytic communities are studied rather poorly. Besides, there are “white spots” — mire, floodplain and aquatic vegetation. In nowadays, when the anthropogenic impact on the plant cover of the Caucasus is intensively increasing, it is especially important to study natural undisturbed communities preserved in protected natural areas. Another important issue is the conservation of the unique vegetation cover of the whole Caucasus. Thus, the study of vegetation of this region opens a wide field for researchers using various methods of modern plant science.

The problem of invasion of Sosnowsky hogweed (Heracleum sosnowskyi Manden.) In the Lipovaya Gora SPNA in Perm is considered. A map of distribution of hogweed cenopopulations in the protected area is presented. The results of the influence of the invasion of Sosnovsky hogweed on the biodiversity of vascu-lar plants of some plant communities are presented. It was revealed that the invasion of hogweed into phytocenoses of the Lipovaya Gora protected area leads to a decrease in the biodiversity of vascular plants by about 26.4% (up to 12 plant species). The ways of introduction of cow parsnip into the communities of the protected area are considered. High seed productivity, high projective cover, reaching in some cases 100%, high phytomass, the presence of dormant seeds, rapid development in spring, and high anthropo-genic load on the territory determine the rapid spread of H. sosnowskyi.

Vegetation and its biotopes that are transitional between ruderal and natural ones have been researched in Oktyabrsk village environs (Uchalinskiy District of the Republic of Bashkortostan). The studied vegetation is characterized by rather low biodiversity values and high values of dominance 56 species of vascular plants are identified, 10-species plant communities with 23 clear identified dominant and co-dominant species prevail. Ruderal species are dominant and co-dominant for the majority of plant communities. Fifteen plant associations and specific biotopes have been defined by multivariate statistics methods. The identified associations are phytometers for detected principal abiotic factors. The detected associations form ordination series the authors have identified three biotopical centers (ruderal, birch forest and steppe), three biotopical series and three coenotic series, which are associated with high and temperate pasture loading levels and pasture digression series, forming an integrated succession system of the studied territory. It has been established that principal factors of associations forming is pasture loading level and the principal factors of biotopes forming are soil moistening and its variability, ombroregime (humidification level), termoregime and regime of continentality (temperature-varying amplitude).

Abstract This paper presents the results of an inventory of plant communities of the urban forests in Warsaw. It covers the occurrence of forest associations and forest plant communities in individual forest complexes. Due to their location within the boundaries of a large urban agglomeration, Warsaw’s city forests are particularly exposed to anthropopressure. The share of various degrees of degeneration and dominant forms of degeneration in individual complexes and over the whole surface under investigation was assessed. Possible causes of the conditions existing in the forests have been discussed; in particular, within the context of the development and use of these forests for tourism and recreation. Particular forests’ distinct historical origins, forestry management, and existing forms of surface protection possess fundamental significance for the determination of their current state.
