Abstract: This research aims to describe the construction of santri’s sense and the world in short stories written by two kiai, M. Fudoli Zaini’s Batu-Batu Setan and A. Mustofa Bisri’s Lukisan Kaligrafi. To analyze the comparativeness, structuralism and hermeneutics theory is used to describe the problem. We can see that there is a systemic pattern of the writers as an agent in a cultural production environment. Those systemic patterns show the universalities and partialities of santri’s construction and sense according to binary opposition concept, namely syntagmatic and paradigmatic. The differences among the two anthologies, seen from their short stories and biography are constructed by the world and sense of the santri. From their short stories and we can see how the santri think and see using their sense and the world. Key Words: construction of world; santri’s sense; comparative literature

Palavras-chave: Cinema; História oral; Que bom te ver viva; Los rubios AbstractThis article aims to treat cinema, as a way of communication, in its relationship with Oral History and its ties with Present Time History, attempting to testimonies used as aesthetic and political resources inside films like Que bom te ver viva, by the Brazilian film maker Lúcia Murat, and Los rubios, by the Argentine film maker Albertina Carri. Gustav Preller (1875–1943), a prolific and popular South African historian, is the man largely responsible for shaping many of the key myths of Afrikaner nationalism. One of these is the concept of the Great Trek, an interpretation of the nineteenth-century movement of Boers into the interior. It is Preller's written and visual version of this social movement that has been the dominant one for the last seven decades. Preller worked with a variety of media including books, newspapers, magazines, drama and film, and always produced works that sold in significant numbers. Yet despite his obvious impact and importance, Preller has been the subject of little research. This article attempts to assess Preller's work in relation to questions concerning the cultural fabrication of nationalisms. It asks how Preller did his popularizing work: what techniques, conventions, narrative formulas and social languages did he deploy in his work and whence did he derive these cultural resources? For Preller, one of the most crucial themes in his work had to do with how people recalled the past and more importantly how one could get them to ‘enact’ this memory in their own lives. Much of his work can be read as a search to find strategies of storing the past in forms which would make popular sense. He relied heavily on oral history and he also familiarized himself with popular forms of both oral and written storytelling which in turn inform his work. In 1916 he became involved in filming De Voortrekkers and these visual skills became a key ingredient in all of his ventures. His interest in the visual also informed his frequent use of the physical objects of the past as vehicles for popularizing his views. Another tactic that Preller followed was to explore and ‘colonize’ the institutions of popular leisure which he then remoulded in his nationalist enterprises. The article concludes with a detailed consideration of one of Preller's historical short stories.

For Karakalpak literature XX-century was the century of close interaction with world literature. This process had a huge impact on the expansion of the genre diversity of Karakalpak literature. In literature appeared a great number of new genre kinds: drama, tragedy, comedy, story, novel, ballad, tale, poem and etc. One of new genre varieties in Karakalpak literature is origin of mixed genre-forming. i.e Works, including in it features of lyrics and drama, lyrics and epos, comedy and tragedy, lyrics and prose and etc. and Karakalpak poets, writers became successfully in using new genres. The signs of the drama in this or that measure can be presented in epos works, but signs of the epos are not alien to the drama. Their lyrics penetration is much more productive than lyrics penetration into these genres and inside out. This is evidenced by the fact in the Karakalpak literature today there is often processing of the epic works in drama. But it should be recognized that there is little success, because any original work is unique, especially dramatic. Based on this concept, we tried to consider the problem of the synthesis of genres by the example of works by K.Rakhmanov where interpretation of tragedy, comedy, epic is evident. KEY WORDS: genre; drama; epos; synthesis; tragicomedy; novel; plot; composition; conflict.
