Tooth bleaching is one of the most popular cosmetic dental procedures opted by the patients who desire pleasing smile. It is the simplest, least invasive means available to lighten discolored vital teeth. A number of desensitizing agents have been tried in an attempt to counteract bleaching-related sensitivity. This study was done to compare the effect of two different desensitizing agents for controlling post operative sensitivity after power bleach procedure. Sixty volunteers with mild to moderate dental fluorosis in maxillary anterior teeth, who fulfilled the inclusion and exclusion criteria, were randomly selected for this study. After the bleaching procedurea demo was given to the patient while application of desensitising gel and was instructed to use the gel for 14 days. All the patients were recalled at an interval of 1st day, 3rdday, 5th day, 7th day, and on 14th day to record the post operative sensitivity after power bleach procedure. The observations were analyzed using one way analysis of variance (ANOVA), Tukeys post hoc test. On the basis of VAS results, all the groups showed post operative sensitivity of varied intensity at different intervals. NCCP showed less sensitivity followed by CPP-ACP and Control group. Keywords: Power Bleaching, Post operative sensitivity, Nano Crystallized Calcium Phosphate, Casein Phosphopeptide-Amorphous Calcium Phosphate

Objective: To assess, with a systematic review (SR) with meta-analysis, the occurrence of genotoxic effects on the oral epithelium after exposure to tooth bleaching agents. Material and methods: This review was performed according to the PRISMA protocols. To identify relevant studies, a systematic search was performed in the following electronic databases: PubMed, Scopus, Embase, LILACS, and Google Scholar. The research question was "Can tooth bleaching agents cause genotoxicity in the oral epithelium?”. The treatment effects were defined as the standardized mean difference (SMD) and 95% confidence intervals (CI) were established. Results: 154 studies were selected and, after screening titles and abstracts, seven full-text manuscripts were assessed for eligibility, of which four studies were included in the meta-analysis. There were no statistically significant differences in the frequency of micronuclei before and after exposure (SMD= -0.14, 95% CI, 0.98 to 0.60, p=0.74), with a Tau2 index = 1.00; Chi2 = 70.20; p-value <0.00001; and I² of 93%, indicating high heterogeneity among the studies. Conclusion: Considering the limitations of the present SR, tooth bleaching agents do not lead to genotoxic damage in the oral epithelium but with a small effect and low level of evidence. In this way, the use of tooth bleaching agents is safe on the oral mucosa but randomized clinical trials that are more standardized in all stages are required to produce more robust evidence.

The aim of this report is to demonstrate simple digitally controlled tooth bleaching elab protocol. To do this we used a cross polarizing filter (polar_eyes) attached to Cannon Macro Ring Lite MR-14EX flash to get the cross pollarized picture. A grey card was included in the photo (elab_card) to calibrate the photos in colour and lightness. Walking internal bleaching (Ena white regular, Micerium S.p.A., Avegno, Italy) was proceeded. At day 10 Opalescence pf 16%/ (Ultradent Products, Inc, South Jordan, UT, USA) was added to the protocol. At one-year-follow-up appointment we can calculate the rebound of ΔΕ = 3,03 but the difference between the two central incisors is ΔΕ = 1,1.

Background: Bleaching is considered the most conservative and cost-effective aesthetic procedure. Vital and non-vital bleaching techniques commonly involve at-home, in-office, and over-the-counter techniques and can be internal (within the pulp chamber) or external (on the enamel surface). Aim: To assess the attitudes of clinical dental students towards the various aspects of tooth bleaching in Saudi Arabia Design and settings: This is an observational cross-sectional study that was carried out across different universities in Saudi Arabia. The study’s questionnaire consisted of questions regarding the demographics and knowledge of dental bleaching procedures, techniques, and materials. Results: A total of 674 dental students and interns from 14 different governmental and private dental colleges in Saudi Arabia completed the survey. The majority of participants were females, 461 (68.4%), attended governmental universities, 396 (58.8%), and did not use any bleaching techniques (62.8%). Dental interns had a higher level of knowledge (42%) followed by 5th-year students (33.7%), and 6th-year students (22.9%). Furthermore, participants who practiced tooth bleaching during clinical training and private universities’ students showed a significantly better bleaching knowledge Conclusion: Overall, dental schools should be encouraging their students to be involved in bleaching application. Additionally, there is a pressing need to focus more on dental bleaching material and procedures in dental school. Keywords: Tooth Bleaching, Dental Students, Bleaching Techniques.

The study’s questionnaire consisted of questions regarding the demographics and knowledge of dental bleaching procedures, techniques, and materials. Descriptive statistics of frequency distribution and percentages were calculated for categorical variables and the Chi-squared test was applied to assess the relationship between categorical variables.
