The study is based on the analysis of semi-structured interviews of 15 heads of commercial and non-profit organizations in Volgograd. To process the data obtained during the interview, the method of network thematic analysis was used. The study showed that the socially responsible activities of commercial organizations and NGOs of Volgograd is often defined by relationships between people rather than by relations between companies, which is one of the reasons that encourages actors to personal participation in socially responsible activities and helps to strengthen the positive impact of corporate social responsibility on the society. The moral aspect of these relationships (friendship, trust, care, support, etc.) as the most important component of social capital contributes to the development of socially responsible behavior. The involvement of subjects in socially responsible activities is also influenced by the current social and economic situation in Volgograd. Respondents assign a regulatory role to the state as a subject of social responsibility; they believe that it can act as an initiator of social projects, as well as contribute to the expansion of corporate social responsibility, creating conditions for business development. Representatives of Volgograd organizations help those whose problems, difficulties are clear, cause sympathy due to the personal experience of the subject, personal observations. An important criterion for choosing the recipients of social responsibility is the place of residence of its subjects (help their city, district, take care of the well-being of the local community in the territory of the company's presence). The social responsibility of organizations in Volgograd is determined by goals and motives that go beyond economic expediency (gratitude, pride, duty, loyalty, justice, love for people, etc.). At the same time, the scale of assistance depends, according to respondents, on the availability of free financial resources, which can no longer be spent on business development, employee compensation, personal needs.

AbstractIn essence firms or companies are usually thought to exist to make products for or provide services of some sort to third parties, other companies or individuals. The philosophical question which naturally arises then is ‘to the benefit of whom should a firm’s activities be aimed?’ Possible answers include the owners of the firm, the firm’s employees or wider society, the firm’s local community or their host nation. It is because of firms’ location within a wider society that the issue of corporate social responsibility arises. The issue is do they contribute in a positive way to the fabric of society. In this paper we conduct an exploratory investigation whose research questions, broadly, are whether there is public evidence of corporate social responsibility activity by firms listed in the UK and to what extent, if any, such activities may amount to genuinely socially responsible management by the firms. We examined the most up to date annual reports of a split sample of 36 firms listed in the FTSE 350. The short answers to the two research questions above are: to some degree and no by some margin, based on data from the sample firms.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has become an integral part of firms’ strategies in their effort to increase their positive impact on society. This study investigates the impact of a CSR initiative, known as “The LAB Project”, implemented by the TITAN– Sharrcem Company, on the rural community of Hani I Elezit in Kosovo. The LAB project aims to support the establishment and operation of agricultural and food-related start-ups and, most importantly, to ensure their sustainability. The sample of the study consists of 174 area residents. This research examines local residents’ perceptions about a) the TITAN-Sharrcem operations in the area, b) the LAB project’s main contribution to the local community,  c) the project’s overall performance, d)  the profitability of the start-ups created by the project, and e)  the project’s effect on the community’s quality of life. Overall, the results reveal that the project has set the foundation for the community’s sustainable development. To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this is the first research on the effect of such initiatives in the region. Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is all about companies managing their business process to produce the overall positive impact on the society. The interest for CSR has grown rapidly the recent years and people started to demand corporate social responsibility from the company. CSR is connected with corporate behaving ethically, morally and socially responsible towards the society. This research focuses on investigating why companies engage in CSR, how they apply CSR and how CSR can affect financial performance. It was found that the employees and the people in general do get motivated by their organization. All the respondents were very positive and energized about being part of the CSR activities provided with the opportunities. BOK Ltd has focused their CSR activities related with the health, education and environment with the name as BOK health, BOK education and BOK environment initiation. BOK has tried to cover the different aspect of essential factors in anyone’s life. Majority of the respondents’ views that CSR activities has the positive relation and can contribute on the financial performance of the company as it increases the good image and goodwill of the organization. CSR needs planning and proper implementation so that the society could actually have positive impact from CSR activities.In Nepalese context the organization do not emphasize in CSR activities rather they give priorities to earn more profit and flourish their business.NCC JournalVol. 3, No. 1, 2018, page: 90-99

Abstract Corporate Social Responsibility can be understand as a way for managing business activities which integrates economic, social and environmental aspects in harmony with principles of sustainable development that have a positive impact not only on our economic performance but also on our surroundings (employees, partners, customers, the city and region) with a consistent reduction of impacts on the environment via enduring development of human resources, the community and society. It is our continuous obligation to do business ethically, transparently and in accord with CSR principles and to contribute to the economic environment along with improvement in the quality of life of our employees, their families, the local community and, equally also, in society in the broader meaning of this word. Management in enterprises implement the Corporate Social Responsibility approach. Business sustainability is high in CEE enterprises.

<span lang="EN-US">Nowadays, in actual business world, corporate social responsibility (CSR) occupies an important place in doing business all over the world. The public commonly takes CSR as the necessary for businesses to make extra improvements to the well-being of society. De facto, it is difficult to find a specific definition of CSR. The purpose of this study is to carry out research on whether CSR has a significant relationship with organizational financial performance in terms of earnings per share (EPS) and annual return rate of individual stocks (RETURN), with a major target on quoted companies in Taiwan. In this study, we establish a multi-factor regression model to examine corporate value. The Taiwan Economic Journal (TEJ) database is used to explore the relevance. Empirical results show that: (1) Sales growth rate (SGR) has a positive impact on RETURN; (2) CSR and leverage (LEV) have a significantly correlation with EPS; (3) SGR and return on equity (ROE) have a significant relationship with RETURN; (4) CSR and ROE have a significantly correlation with EPS. Consequently, the EPS of the companies that implement CSRs are better than those that do not implement CSRs. However, the results do not indicate that the RETURN of the companies that implement CSRs are better than those that do not implement CSRs.</span>

Around the globe, socially responsible activities are being integrated into regulations, and corporate social responsibility (CSR) is increasingly being recognized as a means of sustaining a business and improving its competitiveness. South Korea has made a significant effort to encourage CSR activities in order to increase its firms’ competitive advantage. This study evaluates the sustainable development activities of Korean firms, and empirically analyzes the positive impact of CSR on corporate performance (CP) in Korea over a period of four years. A comparison by industry reveals that CSR has a greater impact on CP in the manufacturing sector than it does in the nonmanufacturing and service sectors. Furthermore, the results for consumption goods are more positive than those for industrial goods, because the former are, in general, more affected by customer feedback. A case study of three Korean firms was used to examine CSR implementation in Korea, recent activities undertaken by Korean firms, and the integration of CSR concepts into firms’ strategies.

Purpose – The aim of this paper is to offer a new conceptualisation on partnership emergence and dynamism between the business sector and the non-governmental organization (NGO) sector from a corporate social responsibility perspective. More specifically, the paper intends to examine partnering behaviour and management from a socio-political standpoint. Design/methodology/approach – The case study approach used in the study utilised data from eight in-depth, semi-structured interviews, with managers from the business and NGO sectors engaged in a large-scale partnership between a Palestinian Cellular Corporation and an NGO. Interview transcripts were analysed using content and narrative analyses. Findings to be presented include reciprocity, corporate constitutionalism and utilitarianism. Findings – The results found in this paper show that partnership has social, political, and ethical dimensions in support of the theoretical framework developed for this paper. More specifically, the results show that the studied partnership is an emergent process, fundamentally concerned with self-efficacy over community welfare, as well as being driven by individual organisational goals. Originality/value – This paper sheds light on certain aspects of partnership that are often overlooked in mainstream research. It does not only highlight the multifaceted dimensions of partnering but also discusses how partnership can be envisioned and practised as inter-organisational relationships. It stimulates a pragmatic understanding of partnership nature and management showing that partnership emergence, direction and sustainability are conditioned by the stakeholders’ socio-political and ethical practices.

We investigate whether the corporate social responsibility (CSR) of Chinese companies has a certain impact on firm value, and further, depending on the level of corporate governance, how the impact of CSR on firm value changes. First, CSR activities generate a positive effect on firm value suggesting that companies may have an incentive to be willing and to continue to perform their CSR activities. Second, if the ratio of the largest shareholder`s stake is low (high) or the gap between the largest and the second-largest shareholder`s stakes is small (large), CSR activities lead to a significant positive (negative) impact on firm value. Third, we find a positive impact for firms with high management or auditor ownership and for firms whose CEO and chairman of the board are not the same person. Interestingly, due to the fact that significant numbers of outside directors of Chinese companies are appointed by the largest shareholders in China, CSR activity may be used to better align the company with the private interests of the largest shareholders than with the interests of other shareholders, thus lowering firm value. Lastly, if the company`s largest shareholder is the country government, CSR has a positive impact on firm value. In this case, the largest shareholder―the country government―carries out CSR activities for social benefit because such a benefit is naturally aligned with the country`s interests in the company. This paper also sheds light on Chinese companies` corporate governance structure that enhances socially responsible activities and firm value. Our results suggest that good governance provides incentives to voluntarily and continuously perform socially responsible activities.

Corporate social responsibility has become an international trend in order to maximize profits and attract the attention of scholars and practitioners. Therefore Engaging in corporate social responsibility may affect the company's profits and cause increased costs. The social responsibility plan should determine the most necessary strategic concerns and the creating important value. Therefore Social responsibility is the key to an enterprise's pursuit of excellence. Creating social well-being and enhancing its competitive advantage may be an important factor for the company's future success. Promoting corporate social responsibility with shares and establishing a sustainable team-oriented culture can enhance corporate competitive advantages, create social well-being, and create value to stimulate Innovative. The empirical results showed that shares and team-oriented culture have significantly positive impact on corporate social responsibility that is further positively significant to enhance employee innovation behavior. Further finding supports that environmental altruism moderates the relationship between corporate social responsibility and shares.
