Kurangnya pengetahuan tentang model/variasi latihan body weight menyebabkan members fitness/pelaku olahraga pada saat melakukan latihan beban terkesan monoton, kurang bervariasi dan membosankan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan model body weight training untuk latihan otot perut, yang nantinya dapat menjadi panduan untuk latihan otot perut dan diharapkan dapat mempercepat pembentukan otot perut menjadi sixspack. Model-model body weight training lebih menekankan pada spesifikasi bagian otot perut. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan model dengan langkah-langkah penelitiannya sebagai berikut: (1) mengenali potensi dan masalah, (2) pengumpulan data, (3) desain produk, (4) validasi desain, (5) revisi desain, (6) uji coba produk, (7) revisi produk, (8) uji coba pemakaian, (9) revisi produk, dan (10) produk masal. Validasi draf model latihan dilakukan oleh tiga ahli/pakar materi tentang kebugaran fisik. Sampel penelitian dalam uji coba skala kecil berjumlah 5 responden dan uji coba skala besar berjumlah 20 responden. Penelitian dilakukan di Club Arena International Hotel Pandanaran, Hotel Jambuluwuk, dan Hotel Ros In. Teknik analisis data menggunakan data kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Data kualitatif diperoleh dari: (1) hasil wawancara dengan members fitness center, (2) catatan lapangan, dan (3) data saran perbaikan draf model awal dan hasil observasi pada pelaksanaan uji coba dengan skala kecil dan besar. Data kuantitatif diperoleh dari: (1) penilaian skala nilai validasi draf model, (2) penilaian skala nilai observasi pelaksanaan model, dan (3) hasil penilaian kuesioner uji coba skala kecil dan besar dari responden. Hasil yang diperoleh dari data validasi draf model dan observasi pelaksanaan model latihan oleh ahli/pakar 100 % baik sekali. Hasil penilaian kuesioner uji coba skala kecil 80 % baik sekali dan 20 % baik, sedangkan untuk hasil kuesioner uji coba skala besar 60 % baik sekali dan 40 % baik. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut dapat diartikan bahwa model body weight training untuk latihan otot perut layak untuk digunakan.

The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of the herbal preparation Tribulus terrestris (tribulus) on body composition and exercise performance in resistance-trained males. Fifteen subjects were randomly assigned to a placebo or tribulus (3.21 mg per kg body weight daily) group. Body weight, body composition, maximal strength, dietary intake, and mood states were determined before and after an 8-week exercise (periodized resistance training) and supplementation period. There were no changes in body weight, percentage fat, total body water, dietary intake, or mood states in either group. Muscle endurance (determined by the maximal number of repetitions at 100—200% of body weight) increased for the bench and leg press exercises in the placebo group (p < .05; bench press ±28.4%. leg press ±28.6%), while the tribulus group experienced an increase in leg press strength only (bench press ±3.1 %, not significant; leg press ±28.6%, p < .05). Supplementation with tribulus does not enhance body composition or exercise performance in resistance-trained males.

Background. This study was conducted to determine the extent to which participation in a weight training intervention was associated with changes in the emotional well-being and body image of females compared to non-weight trainers. An ancillary objective was to study the extent to which psychological, physical, and demographic factors accounted for changes in emotional well-being and body image. Methods. The experimental group consisted of 60 females, and a comparison group was comprised of 92 females. Experimental subjects participated in a 15-week, two-day-per-week weight training intervention, while subjects in the comparison group did not participate in any weight training activities. Subjects were pre- and posttested on the General Well-Being Schedule and the Body Cathexis Scale. Experimental subjects were also tested in muscular strength and three skinfold measurements. Results. With pretest scores controlled, the weight trainers had significantly higher General Well-Being and Body Cathexis posttest scores than the comparison group. Weight trainers also showed significant increases in muscular strength, and significant decreases in skinfold thickness. Four variables predicted 38.8% of the variance of those who improved most in General Well-Being: lower pretest General Well-Being, lower parental income, greater loss of body weight, and lower posttest skinfold. Five variables predicted 61.5% of the variance of those women who improved most in Body Cathexis: lower pretest Body Cathexis, greater body weight at the outset, shorter in height, less involvement in non-weight training exercise, and lower posttest skinfold. Discussion. Cause-and-effect conclusions are not warranted given the use of intact groups, and the long-term effect of weight training on the emotional well-being of women was not discernible given the 15-week length of this study.

Aim. The objective of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of Crossfit training in order to minimize performance loss of elite wrestlers during 30-day rest period. Materials and Methods. Total 23 elite male wrestlers who competed at the last national championship participated in this study. The participants were divided into two groups as Crossfit and control group. The Crossfit group performed 5 pull-ups, 10 push-ups and 15 squat exercises consecutively (Crossfit-Cindy) for total 20-min, during the 30-day period, 6 days per week. The Control group did not perform any exercise programs during this period. Before and after the 30-day period, athletes were applied anthropometric measurements as well as VO2max (aerobic capacity), bench press and squat (maximal dynamic strength), leg and handgrip strength (isometric strength), pull-up and push-up (strength endurance) tests. Results. After the 30-day period in the control group, body weight and body fat percentage (BF %) increased significantly, whereas all performance variables decreased significantly. Maximal dynamic strength and aerobic capacity values decreased significantly in the Crossfit group, while body weight, body fat percentage, isometric strength and strength endurance values were maintained. Moreover, the decrease in VO2max and bench press tests was higher in the control group than in the Crossfit group. Conclusion: Consequently, the present study showed that 20-min Crossfit training was highly effective in maintaining the form of elite wrestlers during a 30-day rest period

mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh Weight Training menggunakan Bench Press terhadap daya ledak otot lengan atlet karate Pendidikan Olahraga Universitas Negeri Padang. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Maret sampai April 2019 di Gedung Labor FIK tepat nya di aula karate dan Fitnes Centre. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh atlet karate Pendidikan Olahraga Universitas Negeri Padang yang berjumlah 30 orang dimana sebanyak 22 orang atlet putra dan 8 orang atlet putri yang berusia 18-25 tahun dan sampel diambil berdasarkan teknik Purposive Sampling sebanyak 15 orang atlet putra dan putri yang berumur 18-20 atau Under 21. Untuk mendapatkan data penelitian digunakan tes Two Hand Medicine Ball Push. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan uji t-test. Berdasarkan analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan uji t-test. Hasil pengolahaan data dalam penelitian ini adalah: 1) diperoleh rata-rata (2.96) menjadi (3.48), artinya penerapaan Weight Training dengan bentuk latihan beban menggunakan bench press dapat menungkatkan daya ledak otot lengan ditandai dengan diperoleh thitung (5,1376) > ttabel (1.753), artinya penerapan Weight Training manggunakan Bench Press dapat meningkatkan daya ledak otot lengan atlet karate Pendidikan Olahraga Unverisitas Negeri Padang, dimana menunjukan hasil yang baik.

The bench press is a widespread form of weight training with few scientific reports on its associated fatalities. We herein report a case of an individual performing bench press training who was found deceased in a supine position on the bench with the shaft of the barbell resting on his neck. The bench press safety bars were set at bench height. On the basis of the postmortem computed tomography imaging and the autopsy, the cause of death was determined to be fatal traumatic asphyxia caused by a cervical compression. We wish to highlight the importance of correctly using safety devices during weight training as well as the need for developing and disseminating safe equipment that is not dependent on the manner of use. We also wish to highlight the need for a form of legal regulation on the design of devices.
