The purpose of this paper is to review the two attributes, usability and architectural, in order to develop a usability brief for shopping mall asset enhancement initiative (AEI) project. An exploratory sequential mixed method approach is undertaken, with the initial phase, a qualitative study using secondary data and focus group with the facility management team. The output from the qualitative phase is used to prepare a survey of 89 items. A pilot study of 15 participants is carried out to validate reliability of the items using SPSS. The questionnaire items are found to be reliable; hence, the survey can be used as a tool to gauge a larger sample. This paper presents an overview of a doctoral research by the main author and it provides the initial concepts for the undertaking of the research study.

This paper presents some findings of a research study aimed firstly to stimate the suitability and importance for teaching in the EHEA of some teacher’s profiles; secondly we looked for the identification of core teaching competencies in that mentioned education context. In a previous research stage, 4 teachers’ profiles and 87 main teaching competencies have been identified; now we present the assessment of 61 senior professors (‘teaching experts’ – members of 5 spanish universities) about that profiles and competencies then identified; their opinions have been obtained through an on-line questionnaire. Research findings show three more valued teachers profiles, laveled as “multifunction teacher”, “teaching expert” and “research teacher”. Among the more valueted teaching competencies we find the competerncies for planning, implement and evaluate students learning; tutoring studentes and menagement competencies, as well as in-service teachers trainingcompetencies have not got such a high assessment scores.

The flipped classroom model has been an appealing approach to teaching, primarily in math and science classes. However, several research studies have proven that the flipped classroom method can be successfully implemented in online language classes. This article presents a research study that aims to analyze the impact of the flipped learning approach on Czech university students in English classes. The first part of the study is dedicated to the goals and methodology of the research. The second section discusses the partial outcomes of the research.

This paper summarizes research conducted on three computer-based video models’ effectiveness for learning based on memory and comprehension. In this quantitative study, a two-minute video presentation was created and played back in three different types of media players, for a sample of eighty-seven college freshman. The three players evaluated include a standard QuickTime video/audio player, a QuickTime player with embedded triggers that launched HTML-based study guide pages, and a Macromedia Flash-based video/audio player with a text field, with user activated links to the study guides as well as other interactive on-line resources. An assumption guiding this study was that the enhanced designs presenting different types of related information would reinforce the material and produce better comprehension and retention. However, findings indicate that the standard video player was the most effective overall, which suggests that media designs able to control the focus of a learner’s attention to one specific stream of information, a single-stream focused approach, may be the most effective way to present media-based content.
