This chapter indicates the overview of Knowledge Management (KM); KM and innovation; KM and human capital; KM and social capital; KM and Human Resource Management (HRM); the significant perspectives on KM; and the advanced issues of knowledge transfer, knowledge sharing, and knowledge mapping. KM is the advanced method toward better organizational performance through knowledge transfer and knowledge sharing, and involves various organizational factors, such as people, process, technology, and culture. Utilizing KM can enhance the execution of innovation, human capital, social capital, decision making, and HRM in modern organizations. Regarding KM perspectives, creating and distributing new knowledge through effective knowledge transfer and knowledge sharing have the potential to increase organizational performance and gain sustainable competitive advantage in the knowledge era.

Purpose Drawing on the knowledge-based view, the purpose of this paper is to investigate the interrelationship between Knowledge Management (KM) processes, Knowledge Worker Satisfaction (KWS) and Organizational Performance (OP). Additionally, the study further seeks to identify the combinations of KM processes and KWS dimensions that can lead to enhanced OP. Design/methodology/approach Data were collected from 248 academics and administration employees of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The relationships were tested using SmartPLS 3.2.7. The study also employed fuzzy set Qualitative Comparative Analysis (fsQCA) for examining configurational paths. Findings The results of the study revealed that KM processes significantly affect KWS and KWS enhances OP in HEIs. Based on fsQCA, the results revealed multiple configurational paths to improved OP. Originality/value There is significant lack of research that ascertains the inter-relationship between KM processes, KWS, and OP. This is one of the initial studies that examines the relationship of KM processes, KWS, and OP in HEI’s. From a methodological perspective, the study contributes by combining symmetric and asymmetric statistical tools in KM literature. fsQCA helps to understand the interactions that might not be immediately obvious through traditional symmetric methods.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the impact of variable mediation knowledge management innovation in relation to organizational performance and analyze the impact of innovation on the relationship mediating variables of organizational culture on an organi­zation. Population performers in this study were employees of XYZ. Collecting data in this study was conducted using the questionnaire method. Data analysis method used in this study is Partial Least Squares is a powerful method of analysis because it does not assume the data must use a certain scale and can use a small sample. The results showed that (1) knowledge management influence on innovation; (2) The effect on the organizational culture of innovation; (3) Knowledge Management of an effect on the performance of the organi­zation; (4) The organizational culture influence on organizational performance (5) innovation does not affect the performance of the organization, (6) the innovation did not mediate the relationship of knowledge management to organizational performance; (5) innovation does not mediate the relationship of organizational culture on organizational performance. Results obtained interviews innovation does not affect the performance of the organization for their gaps and differences in perception between the authority and powers of innovation, so that innovation is always dependent on the individual who is willing to turn these innovations.

In this study the moderating effect of social capital on the relationship of performance improvement practices and organizational performance has been undertaken in Meezan bank Ltd. Data was collected from Islamabad & Rawalpindi area branches. An adapted questionnaire was distributed. Distribution of 150 questionnaires to the managerial and non-managerial grade officers of Meezan Bank was done, of which 110 valid questionnaires were received. Regression analysis gave positive and statistically significant results of the moderating variable social capital on organizational performance with the independent variable performance improvement practices. This study is helpful to the management of the organization to utilize such practices which result in better performance.

Management research has often overlooked the role of knowledge and knowledge management (KM) in the analysis of organizations and their performance. Also, the literature on KM is short of empirical evidence on the likely interrelatedness of the KM processes. This investigation adopted a research model and used data from 38 Egyptian software firms to examine: (1) the relationship of the KM processes of knowledge acquisition, documentation, transfer, creation, and application to organizational performance, and (2) a number of relationships within the KM processes themselves. The results suggest that knowledge application influences organizational performance, knowledge acquisition and knowledge creation influence knowledge application, and knowledge acquisition and knowledge transfer influence knowledge creation. Although they provide a limited support to the research mode, the results signify the value of continued examination and enhancement of such a model.

The present study aims to examine the relationship among core requirements of knowledge management implementation, innovation, and organizational performance in the Iraqi mobile telecommunications sector. A questionnaire was conducted on mobile companies based on a proportionate stratified random sampling technique. The results indicated that core requirements of knowledge management implementation had a statistically significant and direct positive effect on innovation. The critical success factors of knowledge management and knowledge management strategies had a statistically significant and direct positive effect on organizational performance. Then the direct relationship of knowledge management processes with organizational performance was positively affected, but it was not statistically significant. The results also indicated that the innovation had a positive and statistically significant effect on organizational performance. More importantly, the results indicate that core requirements of knowledge management implementation had a positive and statistically significant effect on organizational performance through the partial mediating effect of innovation.
