The present paper aims to analyze psychometric features of the Portuguese Sleep Wake Experience List (SWEL), to obtain norms and data about key sleep complaints for children. This questionnaire evaluates chronic sleep problems categorizing them into six categories of sleep complaints. A total of 900 elementary school students (2nd to 4th grade), 485 girls (53.9%) and 415 boys (46.1%), aged between 7 and 10 years (M = 8.63; SD = .82) were included in this study. The results indicated a good reliability and validity of the questionnaire, making him suitable as a screening tool for epidemiological purposes. The study shows that sleep complaints (14.7%) are a frequent syndrome in school-aged children, and often not reported to the parents and/or physician. In conclusion, the results revealed that the SWEL is a reliable and valid screening instrument for identifying potential sleep problems in Portuguese school-aged children population.

The study was aimed at developing a performance assessment instrument model for defensive lob learning. The research method used was Research Development method for developing an assessment instrument referring to eight stages of activity, including choosing good test criteria, analyzing the sport to be tested, selecting and looking for theoretical concept literatures, selecting test items, establishing procedures, administering expert judgements, testing the instrument, and testing the estimated level of validity and reliability. The participants involved were fifth grade elementary school students aged 11-12 years. The development of instrument referred to a performance test instrument with an individual performance assessment model. The analysis consisted of the estimation of content validity (Lawshe's CVR), test-retest reliability, and inter-rater reliability (interclass coefficient correlation). The results of the analysis showed that the reliability and validity of the assessment instrument obtained a good criteria significantly (p_value 0.05). The results of reliability and validity testing conclude that the developed performance assessment instrument model can be used to measure defensive lob skills in Badminton learning for Elementary School students.

Background: Personal hygiene is something that needs to be taken care of especially in elementary school-aged children. Data from the Srondol Community Health Center states that in 2017 the fifth-highest number of diarrhea occurred in elementary school-aged children. SDN Srondol Kulon 02 is a health promoting elementary school in the city of Semarang. Based on School Health Unit data, in 2018 there were 52 students from SDN Srondol Kulon 02 referred to the public health center because of diarrhea and 13 students referred to because of toothache. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that influence personal hygiene practices in 5th grade elementary school students at SDN Srondol Kulon 02. Methods: This study was observational analytic with cross-sectional approach using total sampling technique and questionnaire instrument. The sample was 98 5th grade students in SDN Srondol Kulon 02. Data was analyzed by using chi-square test and ordinal regression. Results: There was an influence between Knowledge (p= 0.037) attitudes (p= 0.009) support of teaching staff (p= 0.005) family support (p= 0.008) with personal hygiene practices and no influence between the support of health workers (p= 0.997) and PHBS facilities (p= 0.817) with personal hygiene practices. Conclusion: Support of teaching staff was the most influential in improving students’ personal hygiene practices.

The purpose of this study was to determine: (1) the stages of development of scientific attitude instruments for elementary school students. (2) the quality of the instruments developed scientific attitude in terms of validity, reliability, and validity konstruknya. Methods of data collection using questionnaires with respondents 200 elementary school students from class IV to class VI. Analysis using the statistical analysis program assisted SPPS 13 for Windows. The steps include instrument development; 1) set of constructs, which set limits on the variables to be measured, 2) determine the factors to find the elements that exist in a construct, 3) prepare a statement grains, 4) implement test instrument was developed. Judging from the quality of the instruments developed realibitas looks pretty good instrument category at 0.881 and after the instrument items were eliminated from about 36 to 15 are also still in the good category is 0.813. Based on the criteria of commonality factor extraction and rotation factors obtained four factors, number of factors extracted by the factor of as much as 4 percent of the cumulative variance is greater than 60% is 65.834%. Judging from the validation performed factor by dividing the number of respondents into two groups of parts, and then performed a factor analysis on each hemisphere of the respondents. The results showed that the factor validation valid results, each still produce a 4 factor with almost equal distribution of items. This further strengthen that 4-dimensional factor in the scientific attitude for elementary school children on an instrument that has developed a strong enough konstruknya validity. The results of the development of scientific instruments already reflect the attitude and decent results are used to measure the scientific attitude of students in elementary school

Soil-transmitted helminth (STH) prevalence is high worldwide. School-aged children are at risk of infection due to poor self-hygiene and contaminated soil and water. Anemia is caused by infection in children, and it affects cognitive development, physical development, and school performance. To ascertain the relationship and distribution of STH and anemia in elementary school students, as the cross-sectional objectives. Students from SDN 96 and 97 Palembang participated in the study. Using stratified random sampling, 84 students from grades 4, 5, and 6 were chosen at random. Anemia is diagnosed through a test using the Quick Check hemoglobin method. They discovered that 40.5 percent of students had intestinal worms, 15.5 percent were anemic, and 11.8 percent were both anemic and worm-infected. A p-value of 0.438 was obtained from the chi-square bivariate analysis. There is no link between STH and anemia.

Motivation is one of the research variables that is widely studied in various scientific fields, including physical education and sports. However, at the elementary school level, there is still no motivational instrument in physical education that has good validity and reliability. This study aims to determine the validity and reliability of elementary students' learning motivation instruments in physical education. The research method uses descriptive research methods with a quantitative approach. The population used grade 4, 5, and 6 elementary school students in three different elementary schools in one sub-district in Indramayu district as many as 134 students with a sample of 50 taken using incidental sampling. The data collection technique used a learning motivation questionnaire. The data analysis technique used Cronbach's Alpha. The results of the study concluded that the elementary students' learning motivation instrument in physical education had very good reliability. In order to conduct further research with more complex analytical techniques in data analysis.Key words: validity, reliability, motivation, physical education

The aim of this study is to examine relationship between the physical education course sportsmanship behaviors, tendency to violence, and empathetic ability for elementary school students. The sample of study consists of randomly selected 919 elementary school students attending state schools in the province of Erzincan in 2013-2014 academic year. “Physical Education Course Sportspersonship Behavior Scale” (PECSBS), “Scale of tendency to violence” and “the scale of Empathetic ability for children” were used in the study. Reliability and validity tests of the scales were done. The scores the students obtained in the scales were reexamined in accordance with independent variables such as their grade level, gender and the type of sports they are interested in most. And relationship between the values of scales was tested. For the assessment of the data, SPSS 15 and LISREL 8.7 programs were employed. In conclusion, physical education course sportsmanship behaviors display a significantly negative relation with tendency to violence and a significantly positive relation with empathetic ability for elementary school students. It is concluded that these relations should be paid attention, measures should be taken and programs should be in place to reduce the tendency to violence and grow empathetic ability in physical education course programs.
