This chapter presents an empirical research where the authors developed tasks based on a digital game supported by assessment strategies. The study is interpretative in nature, in a case study design. The authors designed tasks with technology and assessment strategies in a collaborative work context implemented in a mathematics classroom with 5th grade students (students 10 years old). The results evidence that the use of a digital game and formative assessment have contributed to the learning of complementary and supplementary angle pairs, giving meaning to their utilization as an effective strategy.

In this study; it is aimed to determine the perceptions and approaches of the 4th and 5th grade students regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. The phenomenology study, which is one of the qualitative research designs, was planned as the most appropriate method for the research. The study group of the research consisted of a total of 100 students studying at the 4th and 5th-grade levels in the city center of Van in the fall semester of the 2020-2021 academic year. Fifty of the students are in the fourth grade and 50 are in the fifth grade. In order to determine the reflections of the COVID-19 pandemic on children's drawings, drawings of students and their own explanations of drawings were evaluated as research data. Data were collected from the students in the study group by complying with the pandemic conditions. In this process, students were asked to make a drawing explaining their experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic. The obtained qualitative data (drawings) were analyzed by the content analysis method. As a result of the research, it has been observed that the news in the media has its counterparts in the world of children, and that this news have effects on the way the pandemic is reflected on the pictures. It was observed that there were descriptions of masks and distance in the paintings of both student groups. It has been observed that the pandemic, which children encounter in the early stages of their relationship with the environment, is transferred to the pictures as a reflection of fear, and expressed as the fear of getting sick and infecting their environment. It has been determined that children have learned the "14 rules" created in the early stages of the pandemic. Keywords: COVID-19 Pandemic, children’s drawings, schematic stage children’s drawings, dawning realism children’s drawings

The definition of table has not been introduced in Brazilian textbooks for the early years of elementary school. We see that charts and databases have been named tables but are not approached in the same way. This makes it impossible for students to differentiate between them, which may cause learning difficulties. Therefore, it is essential that we reflect on students' knowledge about table, which is an instrument that systematizes information so that they can visualize reality. Thus, the aim of this study was to analyze the knowledge students from the 1st to 5th grade of elementary school have about representations in tables. To this end, 325 students (6 to 10 years old from 19 classes from different public schools in Greater Recife) participated. Students were asked to answer six activities individually, four of interpretation of a single and a double entry table with qualitative and quantitative variables, and two activities involving the construction of a table from a database or set of figures that needed to be classified. The results show that students’ performance progress in all activities, and that they present better performance in table interpretation than in table construction. Since the 1st grade the students were able to construct tables with one variable, however, to construct a table with two variables showed to be very difficult even for the 5th graders. In all grades the students had difficulties to make decisions based on the data presented, what is the function of table representation. This may be due to the absence of teaching practices focused on the table as a learning object.

Digital collaborative storytelling can be supported by an online learning-management system like Moodle, encouraging prosocial behaviors and shared representations. This study investigated children’s storytelling and collaborative behaviors during an online storytelling activity throughout the 2020 SARS-CoV-2 home confinement in Spain. From 1st to 5th grade of primary school, one-hundred-sixteen students conducted weekly activities of online storytelling as an extracurricular project of a school in Madrid. Facilitators registered participants’ platform use and collaboration. Stories were audio-recorded, transcribed verbatim, and analyzed using the Bears Family Story Analysis System. Three categories related to the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic were added to the story content analysis. The results indicate that primary students worked collaboratively in an online environment, with some methodology adaptations to 1st and 2nd grade. Story lengths tended to be reduced with age, while cohesion and story structure showed stable values in all grades. All stories were balanced in positive and negative contents, especially in characters’ behavior and relationships, while story problems remained at positive solution levels. In addition, the pandemic theme emerged directly or indirectly in only 15% of the stories. The findings indicate the potential of the online collaborative storytelling activities as a distance-education tool in promoting collaboration and social interactions.

Aim: It was aimed to reveal the perspectives and satisfaction levels of 4th and 5th grade-clinical students who go on practice education at Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University Faculty of Dentistry in the 2020-2021 Academic Year. Methods: Within the scope of the study, 146 students in total, who did their face-to-face internship between October 5 and December 11, 2020, were asked to participate in an online survey with 10 questions. Clinical students were asked about their perspective on Covid-19 infection, whether they felt safe in their dental practice, their families' level of anxiety about their internship, and whether they voluntarily chose dentistry. Results: According to the survey results; 15.1% of the students agree (TA), 27.4% agree (A), 37% partially agree (PA), 13% disagree (D) with the statement “I am pleased to have internships since the beginning of the term” 7.5% of them answered, “Strongly disagree” (SD). Pearson’s chi-square test was used in the statistical analysis of the answers given by 4th and 5th-grade students to the first 9 questions of the questionnaire consisting of the same questions. According to the survey results, it was also observed that most students chose the dentistry profession of their own will (TA 39%, A 36.3%, PA 13.7%). The number of students who think they feel safe in terms of infection control during their internship is 60% in total (TA 5.5%, A 17.1%, PA 37.7%). Conclusion: Despite the increasing number of cases until today, it is thought that the process has been successfully managed and that the students have gained experience in practical training, albeit limited.
