There is a tendency toward the creation of thematic maps on the web in the ongoing development of cartographic technology. However, automatically creating maps through the web and creating interactive web maps are two challenges associated with this field. To solve these problems, a web thematic cartography method based on a web service chain is presented here. Automated cartography is performed through knowledge-based web cartographic services, and interacting with the services is possible. The method is implemented in the construction of a urban thematic atlas in Shenzhen, China that is dedicated to supporting decision making for urban planning and public participatory thematic map making on the web.

With the development of geoscience, users are eager to obtain preferred service from geospatial information intelligently and automatically. However, the information grows rapidly while the service gets more complicated, which makes it difficult to find out the targeted information for an exact service in geospatial issues. In this paper, a novel method is proposed to promote the geospatial service from information to knowledge with spatiotemporal semantics. Both prompted and professional knowledge are further refined to be published as a service. In terms of an exact task, numerous related services are recombined to a service chain under user requirement. Finally, the proposed method is applied to monitor the environment on the Air Quality Index (AQI) and soil moisture (SM) in the Sensor Web service platform, the results of which indicate geospatial knowledge service (GKS) is more efficient to support spatial decision-making.

AbstractDecision-making is an integral part of any consideration of the discipline of control Systems. This implies feedback of knowledge in some format, whether it is mediated via human or machineoriented methods. The application of AI methodologies to control Systems engineering is described in this review under two broad categories of design and implementation. The design of control strategies is itself divided into phases of modelling and simulation, identification, and algorithm selection and tuning. The aspects of implementation which are covered include real-time considerations such as knowledge-based control and fuzzy logic, multi-sensor data fusion, fault detection and Human–Computer Interaction (HCI).

This paper mainly studies the design and implement of mobile meter reading system based on SOA. The mobile terminal can save offline power reading data in its local database and communicate online recorded data with the server through Web service interface based on the internet. The Web service components perform interaction with the database server. This system is developed by using programming language Java and embedded database SQLite on Android platform. This mobile application can be available to download customers' data from the server or update new meter reading data to the server and then the operators can accomplish their works conveniently during the interviewing with the customers without going back to the office.

Various types of LPG sold, requiring a precise inventory management, especially the facts on the ground are often encountered uncertainties include uncertainty of demand and the performance cycle. The aim of this research  is to develop  decision making system to optimize inventory by the Economic Order Quantity method based on the Bowersox formula by using the combining of variables for demand uncertainty and performance cycle. The system uses the web service media method for easy access and maintenance with centralized data on the server and users only use the existing browser. The method of categorizing goods uses the category ABC by dividing the type of goods into categories A (very important), B (important) and C (not important). The results provide safe inventory value calculations based on variables of  uncertainty and performance cycles. With the optimization resulting from this system, the company can maintain the availability of the goods by making appropriate arrangements, priorities, and the amount so as to minimize the occurrence of the possibility of excess and lack of stock.

This paper presents a user model server based on Web Services. User model servers are very important because they allow reusability of user modeling reasoning mechanisms which are typically very complex and difficult to construct from scratch. In this paper we show how the potential of interoperability, reusability and component sharing offered by the technology of Web Services have been exploited in the design of a user model server that performs decision making. The reasoning of the user modeling is based on a multi-criteria decision making theory and has been implemented as a Web Service to provide intelligent assistance to users over the Web. Reusability has been shown through the successful application of the user model server into two different applications: an e-mail and a file manager application.

With the rapid development of the Internet, a large number of data information appears on the Internet, however, these data information are come from incompatible applications and frameworks that cannot interoperate or exchange data, and it is difficult to effective share and use these data information. Web Service is a new model for the integration and sharing of data information, many scholars have been done much research work on how to achieve data sharing by using the web service technology. This paper analyzes the accessing process of web service based on the Axis2, and takes the library web service as an example to describe the whole process of web services creating, publishing, and accessing. The example of library web service shows that it has speediness, practicability and effectiveness to design and implement the web service by Apache Axis2.
