This paper analyzes the main factors that affect the strategies to reduce airlines costs. These costs factors were presented to experts from the airline industry through two rounds of questionnaires in sense to be weighed. It was applied a method based on the structure of the AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) and the results show that the main important factors for a cost-related airlines strategy are, in importance: route structure and mesh; type and characteristics of the aircraft; cost of labor and management quality. This hierarchy can help the decision maker when facing the need of defining priorities in reduction costs. past decades despite the increase in air transportation and significant decrease in average operation costs, it is observed that airlines have low profitability. The liberalization of the markets and increase opportunities for competition diminishes prices, even when airlines face increasing costs. Considering that advantage in costs is an important strategy for carriers to remain in the market, this paper analyzes the main factors that affect the strategies to reduce airlines costs. These costs factors were presented to experts from the airline industry through two rounds of questionnaires in sense to be weighed. It was applied a method based on the structure of the AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) and the results show that the main important factors for a cost-related airlines strategy are, in order of importance: route structure and mesh; type and characteristics of the aircraft; cost of labor and management quality. This hierarchy can help the decision maker when facing the need of defining priorities in reduction costs.

With expansion of airlines fleet capacity in China, airlines pay more attention to airline profit, service evaluation, etc., besides flight safety. Therefore it is important to study on operational control approaches that can promote operational efficiency, guarantee flight on-schedule rate and reduce operational cost. In this paper, an Analytic Hierarchy Process is employed to build a related-factor model mainly influencing dispatchers making decision in the operational control process of airlines. This process makes the complicated decision-making system hierarchic and analyzes the importance of all related factors by comprising their importance in a hierarchical way. Through an algorithmic example and data analysis, the operational control decision-making model of an assisting nature based on hierarchic analysis in this paper can provide quantitative basis for final decision making.

Soil erosion is a global environmental problem. The affecting main factors for soil erosion processes are different due to the specific areas. The calculated results of soil erosion, by Ha Quang Hai and Tran Tuan Tu, demonstrated that Song Be basin is eroded very huge, about 321 tons/ha/year. The article is based on factors proposed by R.P.C Morgan in 2005, using the analytic hierarchy process AHP (Thomas L. Saaty, 1970) to determine the weights for these factors. Since then, the article concluded main factors affecting soil erosion at Song Be basin. Research results showed that the Terrain factor has the largest weight (0.30), followed by two factors: Plant cover (0.29) and Rain (0.28). The article also identified four main factors impacting on the soil erosion at Song Be basin, including: slope, land cover ratio, intensity of rainfall and slope length. These results will be the basis for subsequent studies to adjust USLE model more applicably for erosion characteristics in the researched area.

Today, the use of herbal medicine like artichoke is rapidly increasing worldwide. The consumption of artichoke as a food source is raising too. Therefore, it is necessary to determine the main factors affecting the growth of this plant which is investigated in this study. A comprehensive analysis of the literature is performed to detect these factors. A fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is employed to prioritize the factors. Results indicate that the conditions of irrigation and soil are the most important ones. In addition, the best conditions for artichoke growth are the medium level of irrigation, soil with suitable drainage, low temperature and sufficient sunlight.

Multi Criteria Decision Making is one of the main topics for Industrial Engineering which is especially use for decision making and for selection process. Analytic hierarchy process (AHP) is aheuristic methodology developed for analyze and estimate decisions. This methodology is also compare tangible and intangible digitizing criteria with respect to compare their priorities between each other and also it defines order of criteria importance. In this methodology experience and knowledge of decision maker is essential. In this way, it is easy to make subjective decision which has higher qualification. With this methodology, there will be vehicle selection and application for a University which use these vehicles to carry their students from bus station to university. To be able to solve this selection, budget, importance of system and other criteria will take into consideration.

Due to the rise of modern online shopping, it has become an important force to promote the development of e-commerce. E-commerce is growing rapidly, the volume of express delivery business has increased , the quality of "last kilometer" delivery service is particularly important. In this paper, analytic hierarchy process (AHP) is used to find out the main factors of affecting the quality of delivery service in the "last kilometer ", so as to put forward the strategy of improving the quality of distribution service.

The selection of suppliers is a strategic activity, especially if the supplier will supply critical items and/ or will be used in the long term. Many factors need to be considered in the selection of suppliers. PT. Kokonako Indonesia is one of the companies of the Group are located in Medan Capella. There are weaknesses in the selection of suppliers conducted by PT. Indonesia Kokonako the decision maker for the purchase of raw materials which are not within specification diameter ≥ 10 cm. Therefore, this study aims to perform the selection of suppliers with the consideration of a more comprehensive and objective as needed. The first stage is carried out in order to represent the actual circumstances is to identify the criteria, sub-criteria, and alternatives that will be used in the selection of suppliers. There are 6 criteria, 13 subcriteria, and 4 alternatives used in the selection of suppliers for raw materials dried grated coconut. The second stage, the stage determines the method for the selection of suppliers. Based on the identification there are no dependencies between sub criteria. Therefore, the exact method used to determine the priority of suppliers to be selected is the method of analytical hierarchy process (AHP). By using the AHP, the priorities selected suppliers for raw materials are dried grated coconut and weighs 0.363 Tempuling District as a top priority. Followed by Sub Tembilahan with weights 0.268, third priority is the District Enoch with weights 0.213, and the last is the Sub Trunk Tuaka and weighs 0,157.Keywords : Selection of suppliers, Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP)

Based on the analysis of the coal mine accidents dangerous sources and essential factors of occurrence mechanism, the coal mine accidents causation model is built by combing with system security theory and dangerous sources theory. This paper analyzes a large number of accidents causation factors and screens the main factors; finally the coal mine accidents hierarchical structure model is constructed. What’s more, combined with examples, the fuzzy analytic hierarchy process is applied to evaluate the accidents causation analysis.

The Analytic Hierarchy Process provides the decision maker with a method for improving the consistency of pairwise comparison matrices. Although it is one of the most commonly used method it presents some disadvantages related generally with the consistency problem. The purpose of this paper is to provide an alternative method for improving consistency and show how it can be applied to pairwise comparison matrices. The contribution to this method and also its limitations are shown at the end.
