Abstract.PERCEPTION OF FINANCIAL TOPICS IN BACHILLERATO STUDENTS AS ELEMENT OF INCLUSION. AN EMPIRICAL STUDY IN THE REGION OF VERACRUZThis study presents a global agenda subject that is an element of financial inclusion, analyzing the perception of high school students towards financial topics such as income, money management, savings and investment and expense and credit. Also, the construct of the identified variables perception is analyzed in the existing literature, where each variable gives its own indicators to study the perception of the students in the region of Veracruz. An exploratory factor analysis is applied to identify the factorial weight of each component, which grouped show that there are two components that explain the study phenomenon. The result, leads us to believe that the students have an expectation of what their future economic income will be in terms of the remuneration expected to be gained as a result of their job. They consider that the formal education that they will attain in the high school and college academic levels is closely related to the sort of income by wages and salaries that they may be able to earn on the long-term.Keyword: financial subject, financial inclusion, financial educationResumen.El presente estudio expone un tema de agenda mundial que esta como elemento de la inclusión financiera, se analiza la percepción de los estudiantes de educación media superior hacia tópicos financieros, tales como ingreso, administración del dinero, ahorro e inversión y gasto y crédito. Se analizan el constructo de percepción con las variables inidentificadas en la literatura existente, en donde cada variable arroja indicadores propios para analizar la percepción de los estudiantes de la región de Veracruz. Se realiza un análisis factorial exploratorio para identificar el peso factorial de cada componente, en donde agrupados al final arroja dos componentes que explican el fenómeno de estudio. El resultado nos lleva a pensar que el estudiante tiene una expectativa de lo que serían sus ingresos económicos a futuro en términos de la remuneración que espera obtener como resultado de su trabajo. Consideran que la educación formal que obtendrán en el nivel académico de bachillerato y profesional, está muy relacionada al tipo de ingresos por sueldos y salarios que puedan tener a largo plazo.Palabras clave: tópicos financieros, inclusión financiera, educación financiera

Robotics has become a crucial domain in technology education, helping students to improve their abilities in assembly and programming. Despite the considerable research that has gone into the learning performance associated with robotics, little work has been done on the cognitive processes involved in learning this subject. The purpose of this study was to develop an instrument (based on the theoretical framework of MSLQ), with which to evaluate the motivation of high school students to learn robotics and the strategies they employ. Fifty participants in the open category competition of the World Robot Olympiad 2010 completed the self-reported questionnaire (RMSLQ-HS). Thirteen factors and fifty one items were extracted using exploratory factor analysis. Implications for the educational application of robotics and research suggestions related to RMSLQ are also discussed.

Abstract Background Health behaviors shape health and well-being, improve life quality, and provide economic benefit. Adolescence is a life phase in which the opportunities for health are great. Adolescent health brings not only the benefits of the present but also the well-being of the future and the next generation. We aimed to develop a reliable and valid scale that was used to evaluate the health behavior of the late adolescent, namely, the senior high school student. Methods In this study, we conducted two surveys: For the first survey, we recruited 526 senior high school students (318 boys, 208 girls; Mage = 16.5), and the data were used for item analysis and exploratory factor analysis. For the second survey, we recruited 542 senior high school students (249 boys, 293; girls; Mage = 15.5), and the data were used for confirmatory factor analysis and internal consistency reliability analysis. Results In exploratory factor analysis, we extracted four factors with 23 items in all: exercise awareness and habits (5 items), master and apply healthy behavior knowledge (10 items), emotional regulation (4 items), and environment adaptation (4 items). The Cronbach’s alpha values of the factors ranging from 0.863 to 0.937. A satisfactory goodness of fit model was achieved (CMIN/DF = 3.18, RMR = 0.04, GFI = 0.90, CFI = 0.92, TLI = 0.91, RMSEA = 0.06). Conclusions These results suggest that the Chinese version of the Health Behavior Scale is a reliable and valid instrument for assessing the health behavior of senior high school students.

This research aims to determine the psychometric properties of MDS3 (Maryland's Safety and Supportive School) school climate measurement tools which are adapted in Indonesian to high school students. The study participants consisted of 200 public and private high school students in Bandung. The MDS3 instrument in the English version translated into Indonesian consists of 56 items that have three dimensions namely Safety, Engagement and Environment. Psychometric analyzes such as item-total correlation, Alpha reliability, and exploratory factor analysis were performed as empirical evidence of the psychometric quality of this instrument. The results of this study indicated that the reliability of this instrument is high, 0.881 with item discrimination power or total-item correlations that are relatively weak in the Safety Dimension. Exploratory factor analysis also showed unsatisfactory results on the Safety dimension because many items are different from the model of the factor structure of school climate measurement tools. The lack of fit models used in factor analysis could be due to inadequate or insufficient samples because only at state high schools, while only one respondent came from private high schools. Adding samples and repairing items needs to be done to improve the quality of the Indonesian version of the MDS3.

This study focused on the statistical technique using factor analysis to validate the scale measuring high school students’ attitudes towards Biology. The study sample consisted of 500 students (male = 220, female = 280) from public and private institutions offering high school education with Biology as an elective subject, in Islamabad. As part of this study, the scale developed by (Ahmad and Jamil, 2019) for the attitude of students towards biology was adopted. Research has shown that attitude and achievement are interrelated. Previously, research studies used exploratory factor analysis to analyze the validity of the scale construction. The present study used exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis to fill the gap in the literature because, after exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis is required to test whether the models estimate the intended theoretical constructs. Following the procedure of factor analysis, six factors of the Biology Attitude Scale (BAS) were identified. The findings of the study show that the scale had a multidimensional construct. Further, the internal consistency reliability analysis was performed. Cronbach’s alpha coefficient was 0.86 which shows high internal consistency. It is recommended that BAS is a reliable and valid measurement tool that can be used to determine the attitude of secondary students towards Biology.

"Objective: The goal of this research was to revise Litman’s Epistemic Curiosity Scale (ECS), so that it can be applied to the evaluation of the developmental characteristics among Chinese senior high school students. Methods: 25 senior high school students were first invited to a trial test for confirming the item comprehensibility, after then 602 senior high students were enrolled to the formal testing for the item analysis and exploratory factor analysis. And 533 Chinese high school students responding ECS were submitted to test the construct validity of the localized Chinese-version ECS. Then the scale was applied to 366 subjects to test the internal consistency indices and criteria correlation validity. Finally, 153 senior high school students were used to test test-retest reliability of the ECS. Results: All of the 10 items were retained, through exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis, the two-factor model which was consistent with the original scale proved to be the most appropriate, its main goodness of fit indices were: x2/df=2.68, CFI=0.93, NFI=0.93, TLI=0.90, GFI=0.97, AGFI=0.95, and RMSEA=0.06. The study found internal consistency indices (Cronbach’s alpha) from 0.73 to 0.78 in the first three samples. In addition, the ECS had a high correlation with Chinese version of Trait Curiosity Scale (r=0.53, p<0.001), test-retest reliability over 2-month interval was 0.54 to 0.56 for each of the 2 sub-scale and 0.64 for the total ECS. Conclusion: Findings in these studies support the cross-cultural validity of the ECS in Chinese senior high school students."
