<p><em>The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the formal knowledge of taxpayers and taxpayer awareness on compliance of vehicle taxpayers in the institution of  Samsat Polda in South Jakarta. The data used is primary data by distributing questionnaires to the Vehicle Taxpayer registered in the Office of South Jakarta Police Samsat. The populations that will be the object of research are all vehicle taxpayers registered in the Office of Samsat Polda in South Jakarta until the period of December 2016. The sampling technique used is accidental sampling. This research uses linear regression analysis method. The results of the research showed that the formal knowledge of taxpayers have a significant positive effect on compliance of vehicle taxpayers. The results of this study also concluded that the formal knowledge of taxpayers, and awareness of taxpayers significantly affect the compliance of vehicle taxpayers simultaneously.</em></p>

INTRODUCTION: Biotechnology is a new bachelor degree in UFPA, and has been stablished with excellency in the state of Pará. However, there is the need to promote comprehension and learning in Biochemistry, as well as interdisciplinarity, that is an essential part of biotechnology. OBJECTIVES:  To increase learning and interdisciplinarity, educational games were used as tools. The students were instigated to develop educational games in different topics of energy metabolism. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The games were developed to be used in any teaching environment, since they were made with low-cost and accessible materials. This strategy was applied in three semesters in different Biochemistry classes, between 2012 and 2014. The best games in each class were used in following semesters. DISCUSSION AND RESULTS: Since the first semester, the failing rates dropped 15% compared to the previous semester, in which educational games were not used. An increase in learning (by observation) could be noticed, including comprehension of metabolic pathways and their conections. Twenty games were developed in three semesters, and four of them are still being improved and used in other classes. The participant students answered a questionnaire, in which 47% defined the games as “Relaxing and Instigating”, 33% said the games “Accomplished their didactic and educational role” and 54% said they would recommend the use of these games as a reviewing activity. At the moment, another approach is being used to teach Biochemistry – Gamification, which uses elements found in games, as conflict, cooperation, rules and fun, to improve students’ motivation and engagement. CONCLUSION: As a partial result, there was greater in-class interest and engagement, better comprehension of the course content and the activities gave the students the opportunity to work in groups, to think critically about the themes and to develop opinions based on interdisciplinar and formal knowledge.

Resumo: Este artigo objetiva, sobretudo, promover o debate teórico-epistemológico sobre os desafios e possibilidades do desenvolvimento de ensino-aprendizagem interdisciplinar em razão das matrizes curriculares adotadas. É fato que a discussão sobre interdisciplinaridade no trabalho docente, apesar de não ser tão nova, encontra-se em alta e mantém interfaces com outras categorias do gênero, principalmente quando se relaciona com a gestão e as práticas educativas em sala de aula. Nesse sentido, para a produção deste artigo, seguiram-se os caminhos metodológicos da pesquisa bibliográfica do tipo descritiva com base em revisão de literatura de fontes secundárias de livros, artigos, legislação e documentos oficiais. No tocante à abordagem, acolheu-se a qualitativa, visando análise mais aprofundada das categorias elencadas, a saber: interdisciplinaridade, etnociência, multidisciplinaridade, pluridisciplinaridade e transdisciplinaridade, destacadas nos respectivos tópicos deste artigo. Com relação à técnica interpretacional, recorreu-se à análise do discurso na perspectiva da relação indissociável do histórico com o social. Como conclusão sucinta, deixou-se posto que as práticas educativas de forma interdisciplinar são dinamizadoras e facilitadoras para uma compreensão mais ampla e diversa do ensino-aprendizagem. Desse modo, possibilitam a formulação de um saber crítico-reflexivo, promovendo a integração de conteúdos nas mais diversas áreas de conhecimento, incluindo, inclusive, o arcabouço cultural dos saberes populares e não formais aos formais e científicos.Palavras-chave: Interdisciplinaridade. Multidisciplinaridade.Abstract: This article aims, above all, to promote the theoretical-epistemological debate on the challenges and possibilities of the development of interdisciplinary teaching-learning due to the curricular matrices adopted. It is a fact that the discussion about interdisciplinarity in teaching work, although not so new, is up and maintains interfaces with other categories of the genre, especially when it is related to management and educational practices in the classroom. In this sense, for the production of this article, we followed the methodological paths of bibliographic research of the descriptive type based on literature review of secondary sources of books, articles, legislation and official documents. With regard to the approach, the qualitative approach was adopted, aiming at a more in-depth analysis of the categories listed, namely: interdisciplinarity, ethnoscience, multidisciplinarity, multidisciplinarity and transdisciplinarity, highlighted in the respective topics of this article. With regard to the interpretative technique, we used the analysis of discourse in the perspective of the inseparable relationship between historical and social. As a succinct conclusion, it is emphasized that interdisciplinary educational practices are dynamic and facilitating a broader and more diverse understanding of teaching and learning. In this way, its allows the formulation of a critical-reflexive knowledge, promoting the integration of contents in the most diverse areas of knowledge, including the cultural framework of popular and non-formal knowledge to formal and scientific knowledge.Keywords: Interdisciplinarity. Mathematics is a symbol of rationality and the highest intellectual achievements of human civilization. Mathematics has always been seen as abstract and formal knowledge. However, in the last few decades, the idea has emerged that mathematics is a knowledge that develops in human cultural activities. The concept of mathematics in culture is widely known as ethnomathematics. This paper aims to briefly describe the history, criticism, and challenges of ethnomathematics, the thoughts of ethnomathematics experts, and their influence in learning mathematics today. The development of ethnomathematics gave rise to a field of study covering aspects of anthropology and the history of mathematics, non-formal mathematics practice, traditional mathematics, and multicultural learning. Various research results indicate that ethnomathematics contributes to improving school mathematics. Although culture has an important role in learning mathematics, to integrate it requires comprehensive efforts to overcome various obstacles. Teachers need to improve competencies related to understanding local culture to maximize the transformation of ethnomathematics learning in the classroom.

This paper reports a large-scale knowledge conversion and curation experiment. Biomedical domain knowledge from a semantically weak and shallow terminological resource, the UMLS, is transformed into a rigorous description logics format. This way, the broad coverage of the UMLS is combined with inference mechanisms for consistency and cycle checking. They are the key to proper cleansing of the knowledge directly imported from the UMLS, as well as subsequent updating, maintenance and refinement of large knowledge repositories. The emerging biomedical knowledge base currently comprises more than 240 000 conceptual entities and hence constitutes one of the largest formal knowledge repositories ever built.

ABSTRAKSI: Nilai-nilai luhur budaya yang dimiliki kelompok masyarakat di Indonesia sudah merupakan milik bangsa sebagai potensi yang tak ternilai untuk pembangunan dan kemajuan bangsa. Di lingkungan masyarakat tradisional Jawa Barat terbangun sains asli yang berbentuk pesan, adat-istiadat yang diyakini oleh masyarakatnya, dan disampaikan secara turun-temurun tentang bagaimana harus bersikap terhadap alam. Masyarakat adat yang tidak mendapatkan pengetahuan formal tentang peran gas oksigen, karbondioksida, serta siklus karbon di alam, menerapkan pengetahuan tradisional berupa amanat leluhur untuk menjaga hutan dan air dengan cara tidak menebang hutan sembarangan. Teknologi yang berkembang pada masyarakat tradisional Sunda, salah satunya, bisa diamati pada bangunan tradisional berupa rumah panggung. Sistem kekuatan pada rumah panggung menggunakan ikatan, sambungan “pupurus”, dan pasak. Tidak ada paku, mur, dan baut, karena dilarang oleh adat dan bertentangan dengan aturan leluhur mereka atau tabu. Nilai-nilai luhur dan budaya lokal tersebut tetap dipertahankan dan diwariskan kepada generasi berikutnya yang hidup di era modern. KATA KUNCI: Sains Modern dan Tradisional; Teknologi Ramah Lingkungan; Kearifan Lokal; Masyarakat Sunda; Rumah Panggung. ABSTRACT: “The Concept of Science and Technology in Traditional Communities in West Java Province, Indonesia”. The noble values of culture owned by community groups in Indonesia have belonged to the nation as an invaluable potential for the development and progress of the nation. In the West Java traditional community, the original science in the form of messages, customs that are believed by the community, and passed down from generation to generation about how to behave towards nature. Indigenous peoples who do not get formal knowledge of the role of oxygen gas, carbon dioxide, and the carbon cycle in nature, applying traditional knowledge of ancestral mandates to preserve forests and water by not cutting down forests indiscriminately. The technology that developed in Sundanese traditional society, one of them, can be observed in the traditional building in the form of a stage house. The power system of the house on stilts uses ties, connections, and pegs. There were no nails, nuts, and bolts, for it was forbidden by custom and against their ancestral rules or taboos.
