<p style="text-align: justify;">This study aimed to explore the perceived factors that influenced the success and challenges experienced when taking licensure examination among Bachelor of Science in Criminology graduates of a state university in the Philippines who failed in the Criminologist Licensure Examinations (CLE). Descriptive-correlational research design was utilized to analyze quantitative data, and Colaizzi’s descriptive phenomenology was used for the thematic analysis of qualitative data. The quantitative findings revealed that home and family factor has a high influence on the success in CLE, while student factor, school factor, review center factor, and personal factor have average influence. Further, ten clusters of themes emerged as factors that influence the success in CLE. Among them were interest and focus on the program, and availability of qualified and dedicated faculty. Among the themes that emerged as challenges were lack of preparedness for the exam because of one’s work, and personal and social pressures. There is a significant difference on the respondents’ perception towards the factors that influence the success in CLE when they are grouped according to sex. Regarding the challenges associated with preparing for and taking the CLE, a significant difference is only observed when respondents are grouped according to their civil status. Generally, married respondents have higher weighted means than the single ones. This implies that the identified challenges affected married respondents more than the single ones. These results can be used to make policies and initiate programs that would enhance graduates’ success in the exam by providing appropriate interventions and early remediations.</p>

In the Philippines, more than half of its vehicular accidents are caused by motorcycles, and most of the reasons why these accidents are happening is because of distracted driving, lowered road awareness, delayed response to emergency such as accidents, and over speeding to name a few as confirmed by World Health Organization’s reports. Premised on this idea, the researchers decided to design, develop, and test a device that would provide a solution to this. Thus, the title “Sonar Technology Assisted Vehicle Sensor” was created. The device was completed after three months of research and development in Eastern Samar State University Salcedo Campus. Results of the four-stage test: the Benchmark; Alpha; Beta; and Usability tests indicated that the Sonar Technology Assisted Vehicle Sensor is fully functional and can detect vehicles approaching and can produce corresponding alarms, and can now be implemented. As an additional feature, the device has been imbedded with a Global Positioning System (GPS) Tracker that activates whenever an accident happens to the user/rider. The GPS Tracker would extract the device’s location and the system would automatically send the data to appropriate authorities using its Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) shield through text messaging. The researchers recommend that the device should be marketed directly to motorcycle companies; its GPS system should be submitted for further testing, while the image processing should be trained in computers with RAM size of 8 GB and should be tested paired with an infrared lamp to maximize its use in night time traveling conditions.

Management by Values is an important management concept that operates an organization in going through changes and ordeals. Management approaches continuously evolve through time but often disregarded one vital organizational aspect, values. The Philippines is preparing itself on the challenges that ASEAN integration will bring to the country in the academic sector. This study evaluated the level of management by values of industrial technology teachers in the College of Industrial Technology of Bulacan State University. The descriptive method of research was used to describe and quantify the profile, level of management by values of industrial technology teachers in the College of Industrial Technology of Bulacan State University. Convenience sampling, a non-probability sampling technique, was used. Findings of the study uncovered that industrial technology teacher profiles of the College of Industrial Technology in Bulacan State University confirmed that teachers were comparatively in their middle ages, male dominated, by and large married, and commonly with Master’s degree. The level of management by values in terms of ethical-social values, economic-pragmatic values, and emotional-developmental values were all perceived at a high level. There were significant differences in the perceptions of students and industrial technology teachers on the level of management by values. Evaluating faculty members' performance is a very complex area to study. In addition, predicting the performance of these faculty members is a very difficult and challenging task. However, the core of education is teaching and learning, and teaching-learning works to its fullest when there are effective teachers. Measuring the effectiveness of faculty members is done based on the student evaluation of faculty. This research aims to develop a model to predict the performance of the faculty members using associative rule based on the existing evaluation form used by PSU to evaluate faculty members. The model is designed to utilize the knowledge of text analytics rule capabilities that will provide great support for the decision-making of Pangasinan State University in the Philippines. The result reveals that the term good is still the top one terms occurred for all campuses followed by teaching. The results indicated that teacher/faculty members on all campuses are good teachers. Associating words reveal that "teaching good subject/topic," "explains simply" and other meaningful associated words can be utilized to evaluate the performance of the teacher. The results exposed not only the quantitative values of faculty evaluation it also exposed the qualitative opinion of the students in the performance of their faculty members. This study reveals important aspects of the faculty member's teaching performance in terms of words/association of words that will describe their teaching performance. The results can be utilized in coaching and mentoring faculty members to cope with their weaknesses. The proposed model can be utilized by Pangasinan State University to evaluate the faculty members in terms of their teaching performance by utilizing the comments/opinions of the students.
