Abstract GB/T 34019-2017 “Ultra High Pressure Vessels” is the most important national standard that applies to pressure vessel which design pressure value is greater than or equal to 100MPa (14.5ksi). There is no standard for Ultra-high Pressure Vessel, Then this standard fills the gap in the standard system of pressure equipment in China. This paper mainly introduces the concept and main content of the new national standard, including the materials, design methods and nondestructive testing of ultra-high pressure vessel.

Radiographic acceptance standards, such as those found in the ASME Unfired Pressure Vessel Code are critically reviewed. Limits on the size and distribution of porosity in steel welds are analyzed from the viewpoint of susceptibility to failure in service. In large part, present standards for porosity appear to have been established on a “good workmanship” basis rather than on setting sound conservative limits for the maximum size, and distribution of flaws which can be tolerated without decreasing the reliability of the product. Radiographic acceptance standards in use today do not reflect the significant advances being made in (1) the fracture mechanics approach to designing for prevention of failure; (2) theoretical studies of the stress-concentration effects of holes in close proximity to one another; and (3) the possible use of complementary nondestructive testing techniques. Considerable emphasis is placed on the proposition that radiographic acceptance standards for weldments must be designed specifically for each particular application. Considerations applicable to welds in the 120-in-dia rocket motor case are cited as an example of how standards for acceptable porosity and inclusions can be established.

Acoustic emission (AE) testing (AET) is an effective, nondestructive testing (NDT) method which is widely used throughout the petrochemical industry. It especially plays an important role in inspecting of atmospheric storage tank floor corrosion, oil and gas pipeline leakage and pressure vessel cracking. The AET methods and evaluation of storage tank, pipeline, sphere and other equipment in oil and gas storage and transportation system are reviewed in this paper, and the development trends of AE technique also be introduced. This technique has important significance in ensuring the security.

This paper mainly introduced the Chinese codes and standards of glass-lined pressure vessels. The manufacture and major maintenance of pressure vessels shall be subject to supervision and inspection by the authorized inspection institutions in accordance with the safety technical codes. Design, materials, weld, nondestructive testing, glass-lined process, hydrostatic test and leak test were investigated. In addition, test specimens for calculating wall thickness, Welding Procedure Qualification and Glass-lined Procedure Qualification were analyzed. TSG R7004-2013 Regulation on Supervision Inspection for Pressure Vessel specifies Glass-lined Procedure Qualification shall be carried out before glass-lined. Glass-lined procedure qualification is used to control temperature range, heating rate, holding time, and cycle times. The glass-lined process is absolutely critical to the longevity of the glass-lined vessel.

The life prediction is to estimate the life while the flaw initial size and critical size are knows. On the contrary, the life control is to estimate the flaw initial size at the predetermined life. Nondestructive test would be used to detect the flaws whose sizes are bigger than the allowable initial size estimated by the method, and corresponding repair or replacement of parts or components would insure the reliability and safety of structure in its lifetime. Aiming at this problem, the fixed amount relation between undetected probability of flaw of in service pressure vessel and the independence examination times is established in the base of examination results before. The ability of nondestructive testing is availably increased, the undetected probability of flaw of in service pressure vessel is controlled within the scope of an enough low and safe level. dynamic state monitor is realized.
