Nutritious value of great (Cucurbita maxima) and musky (Cucurbita moschata) pumpkin pulp has been widely investigated, but chemical and qualitative analysis of pulp of oil pumpkin fruits has been superficial so far. The aim of two years research – to investigate the influence of compost/organic mulch to the quality of organically grown oil seed pumpkin (Cucurbita pepo) fruit quality. In 2013–2014, in Kaunas district farm, oil seed pumpkins cultivars 'Heracles', 'Hamlet', 'Danaja' were grown for research. The aim of two years research – to investigate the influence of compost/organic mulch to the quality of organically grown oil seed pumpkin fruit. Pumpkin seedlings were mulched with 5 and 10 cm thick layer of compost mulch. Standard methods were applied to identify the following: dry matter, soluble dry matter, crude protein, crude fibre and amounts of MADF, NDF, ADF fibre and crude in the pumpkin flesh. The results have determined that 5 and 10 cm compost mulch layer had a significant effect on the amount of dry matter in the pumpkin flesh. Basically, mulching has increased the amount of soluble dry matter in the pumpkin flesh. Crude protein accumulation in the fruit flesh was essentially affected by 5 cm thick layer of compost. Mulching with 5 and 10 cm compost layer has significantly increased the amount of crude fibre in 'Hamlet' and 'Heracles' cultivars. 5 and 10 cm compost mulch had a significant effect on the amount of crude ash. According to the researched indicators set parameters in ecologic system of the researched oil-seed pumpkins, the best cultivator to be grown with organic mulching is 'Hamlet'.

The aim of the study was determined the suitability of Cucurbita pepo L. (pumpkin) seed flour (PSF) supplement, which is limited for use in the food industry, to increase some chemical and functional properties of crackers.  PSFs were used to replace wheat flour in cracker formulation at the levels of 5, 10, 20 and 30%. Particularly, the total dietary fiber, protein and ash content of crackers with PSF increased. The highest increase in mineral contents of crackers were determined in P> K> Mg> Ca> Zn> Fe> Cu. The predominant organic acid of crackers was tartaric acid and the dominant fatty acid was linoleic acid. Crackers prepared with Nevşehir variety PSF yielded better results than other crackers due to their nutritious properties. As a result, with the addition of PSF, a functional food product with health benefits was obtained and a contribution was made to the product range.

This study was conducted to investigate the effect of bacterial bio-fertilization A. chroococcum and P. putide and four levels of compost (0, 1, 2, 3) tons.h-1 on the leaves content of N.P.K elements. The experiment was carried out in one of the greenhouses of the College of Agriculture - University of Al-Qadisiyah during fall season 2018-2019. It designed in accordance with the Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replicates in sandy loam soil. The means of treatments were compared with the least significant difference (LSD) at (5)% probability level. The results present that the treatments of A. chroococcum, P. putide and compost at (3) tons.kg-1 significantly increases the leaves content of K.P.K compared to all other treatments in the flowering stage (4.970, 0.5000, and 4.930) mg.kg-1, respectively. This treatment was followed by the effect of the treatment of A. chroococcum and compost at (3) tons.kg-1, which increases the values of all traits except the leaf content of (P). Bio-fertilizer with P. putide + A. chroococcum significantly increases the leaves' content of P.
