Article presents results of the study aimed at assessing the correlation between narcissistic features of personality and self-attitude factors in the sample of young adults. The sample (N=67) included young adults aged 17–30, 59 female (88,1%) and 8 male (11,9%). The main part of the sample consisted of university students – 58 respondents (84,1%). Methods: The Dirty Dozen (Jonason, Webster, 2010; adapted by Egorova, Sitnikova, Parshikova, 2015), Narcissistic Personality Traits Inventory (Shamshikova, Klepikova, 2010), Ten Item Personality Measure (Gosling, Rentfrow, Swann, 2003; adapted by Kornilova, Chumakova, 2016), and Questionnaire of Self-Attitude (Stolin, Pantileev, 1988). Statistical analysis included correlation analysis (Spearman’s correlations) and multiple linear regressions (stepwise). The results show significant correlations between self-attitude scales and the Dark Triad and narcissistic features of personality. Most of the correlations are negative excluding the scales of self-interest, self-sympathy, and expected attitude of others. Lack of empathy and envy for others’ successes are more characteristic of the respondents with predominant negative notions of their personality (vulnerable narcissism). Influence of the dark triad and narcissistic features of personality on self-attitude factors is negative except for grandiose self-worth and belief in one's uniqueness. The yielded results reflect the contradictions within self-attitude defined by the combination of grandiosity and inferiority as the main characteristics of the narcissistic personality.

Different conceptions of narcissism exist within the literature such as grandiose, vulnerable, pathological, collective, and communal, each of which can be measured using self-report measures. Within the current paper, we review and discuss most of the existing measures of these different trait (i.e., non-clinical) narcissism constructs. This includes an examination of their underlying theoretical foundations and an evaluation of the scale construction process. We start our review from the one-dimensional measures of grandiose and vulnerable narcissism such as the Narcissistic Personality Inventory, the Hypersensitive Narcissism Scale, the Dark Triad Dirty Dozen, the Short Dark Triad, the Narcissistic Grandiosity Scale, the Narcissistic Vulnerability Scale, and the Single Item Narcissism Scale. Then, we introduce the multidimensional measures to study narcissism such as the Narcissistic Admiration and Rivalry Questionnaire, the Five Factor Narcissism Inventory, and the Pathological Narcissism Inventory. The r view concludes by presenting measures of understudied narcissistic constructs such as the Communal Narcissism Inventory and the Collective Narcissism Scale. In general, using one-dimensional scales might provide important insights into the general underpinnings of narcissistic personality, however assessment via multi-dimensional tools better reflects its complex nature.

Abstract.Narcissism is seen as a multidimensional construct that consists of two manifestations: grandiose and vulnerable narcissism. In order to define these two manifestations, their relationship to personality factors has increasingly become of interest. However, so far no studies have considered the relationship between different phenotypes of narcissism and personality factors in adolescents. Method: In a cross-sectional study, we examine a group of adolescents (n = 98; average age 16.77 years; 23.5 % female) with regard to the relationship between Big Five personality factors and pathological narcissism using self-report instruments. This group is compared to a group of young adults (n = 38; average age 19.69 years; 25.6 % female). Results: Grandiose narcissism is primarily related to low Agreeableness and Extraversion, vulnerable narcissism to Neuroticism. We do not find differences between adolescents and young adults concerning the relationship between grandiose and vulnerable narcissism and personality traits. Discussion: Vulnerable and grandiose narcissism can be well differentiated in adolescents, and the pattern does not show substantial differences compared to young adults.

This study aims to determine whether perceptions of corruption and organizational climate affect the compliance of personal taxpayers. This explanatory study used quantitative approach of statistical parametric test and multiple linear regressions with questionnaire instrument. This study involved personal taxpayer in the area of KPP Pratama Kota Surakarta. The result of this study confirms that the perceptions of individual tax corruption and organizational climate affect the compliance of personal taxpayers. The better the organization’s climate in emphasizing tax compliance is, the higher the level of compliance personal taxpayers is. In addition, the higher the level of perception of a person’s corruption of the tax apparatus is severely punished then increasing the compliance of personal taxpayers’ increases.

Objective: Partialing procedures are frequently used in psychological research. The present study sought to further explore the consequences of partialing, focusing on the replicability of partialing-based results. Method: We used popular measures of the Dark Triad (DT; Machiavellianism, narcissism, and psychopathy) to explore the replicability of partialing procedures. We examined whether the residual content of popular DT scales are similar to the residual content of DT scales derived from separate samples based on relations with individual items from the IPIP-NEO-120, allowing for a fine-grained analysis of residual variable content. Results: Profiles were compared using three sample sizes (Small N=156-157, Moderate N = 313-314, Large N = 627-628) randomly drawn from a large MTurk sample (N = 1,255). There was low convergence among original/residual DT scales within samples. Additionally, results showed the content of residual Dirty Dozen scales was not similar across samples. Similar results were found for Short Dark Triad-Machiavellianism, but only in the moderate and small samples. Conclusion: The results indicate that there are important issues that arise when using partialing procedures, including replicability issues surrounding residual variables. Reasons for the observed results are discussed and further research examining the replicability of residual-based results is recommended.
