The actual problem of interdisciplinary projects organizing is discussed. The purpose of the article is to justify the principles of planning and conducting the interdisciplinary medico-psychological research, in identifying its features in comparison with pseudo-interdisciplinary approaches. Types of interdisciplinary research are examined, distinctions are made between the true and pseudo-interdisciplinary approaches. The principles of true interdisciplinary research are formulated — the principle of choosing the object of study, the principle of determining the coordinates of the subject area of research, the hypothetico-deductive principle of interdisciplinary research and the principle of unity of interdisciplinary project methodology. The content of each principle is revealed by the example of medico-psychological research currently being carried out by the team of employees of the Institute of Psychology RAS and the National Medical Research Center of Traumatology and Orthopedics named after N.N. Priorov. It is shown that the system-structural approach to conducting the interdisciplinary medico-psychological research consists in coordinating theoretical constructs and empirical variables in accordance with the given coordinates of the research subject field and specific criteria for assessing the physical and mental state of the object of study. It is shown that the selected criteria allow, without leveling the specifics of individual scientific disciplines — medicine and psychology — to form a unified subject field of research and to develop an approach relevant for solving scientific and practical problems.

The article shows that the widening of the subject field of modern pedagogy requires research that goes beyond the boundaries of discipline and acquires the features of inter- and multidisciplinarity; a new qualitative level of research in education can be provided on the principles of educology as a scientific direction of an integrated study of the field of education that focuses on objects and phenomena with a «rigid» and broad type of interdisciplinarity that goes beyond the established subject of pedagogy; the criterion for distinguishing pedagogical researches and studies in the field of educology (education sciences) is defined – «the type of interdisciplinary study». Pedagogical research in its essence always differs by the soft type of interdisciplinary, since the research of purely pedagogical phenomena and processes requires «narrow» interdisciplinarity: in such studies, the integration of close to the methodology and paradigms of scientific disciplines. Studies on education (education studies) can always be attributed to the «rigid» type of interdisciplinarity, since such studies have a «broad» interdisciplinarity: methods, concepts and / or theories of sciences that have little compatibility (philosophy of education, history of education, Cultural education education, education management, educational policy and educational law, economics of education, sociology of education, etc.). The stimulation of interdisciplinary research in education should take place through educational programs, the creation of various centers and the establishment of inter-institutional contacts, as well as the development of a financial policy to support such research, the creation of mechanisms for coordinating and supporting interdisciplinary projects in the field of education at the national and supranational levels. The leader in interdisciplinary research, according to most forecasts, will be social and humanitarian sciences as well as life sciences.

Scientific research that crosses disciplinary boundaries (“interdisciplinary research”) – and in particular, research that crosses academic boundaries to engage with industry, government and non-government agencies, and the broader public – can be rewarding personally and yield novel approaches and findings. While the scholarly literature suggests that interdisciplinary approaches are of immense value, interdisciplinary research carries challenges to academics, particularly in terms of funding and in relation to finding an academic “home.” In this article, the author outlines what is meant by interdisciplinary research and reflects on her career leading from graduate school to tenure. She illustrates how the interdisciplinary projects she has been involved in have been both rewarding and challenging. While not every scientist must be interdisciplinary, she concludes that being open to such an approach has many advantages.

The article deals with the main directions of the problem of media psychological security in the context of media psychological research. It also analyzes the determinants that affect shaping the information and psychological security of an individual. The theoretical analysis of interdisciplinary research has shown that researchers consider the concept of informational and psychological (media psychological) security along with concepts such as information security, media security, media immunity, media competence, media culture, the culture of media consumption, and psychoecology.

A growing body of literature addressing the need for educational innovations has also stressed the value of interdisciplinary approaches that incorporate art into teaching and learning. This paper aims to extend educators’ understanding of art–science interactions by presenting an empirical study that explores a unique art residency program created on the campus of a university that specializes in science and technology. The study reviews the art practices of three contemporary artists who participated in a program developed in conjunction with an interdisciplinary research project seeking ways to build an ecologically sustainable community and operated by a renewable energy resource-based economic system. Data that include observations, artist talks, and in-person interviews were collected from multiple sources during the residency to understand the distinguished processes involved in the development of individual art projects. A follow-up cross-case analysis revealed a few notable characteristics: connecting art with life through waste recycling, process-oriented practices highlighting resource circulation, and creating value using bricolage strategies. Regarding educational implications, discussions centered upon the potential transformational space identified from the creative art practices in the context of interdisciplinary research.

The aim of this article is to examine the bibliometric analysis of global publication output on coronavirus, as covered in Web of Science during the period from 2000 to 2019. A total of 10,861 documents were found during a 20-year period spanning from 2000 to 2019 published in the ISI Web of Science. The study analyses annual productivity, most productive source titles, prolific countries, eminent institutions, linguistic analysis and productivity of authors and their contribution in the subject area. The findings reveal that the most productive year of publication was 2004 that included 782 publications with the majority published in the Journal of Virology. The result further indicates that the USA, China and Germany are the most productive countries in the field of Coronavirus research output. In terms of institutional output, University of Hong Kong emerged as the most productive institution; Yuen KY from Hong Kong is the most prolific author. In the subject category type, the most prominent subject field is Virology, Infectious Disease and Veterinary Science. The findings of the study are limited to the data harvested from ‘Web of Science’. This study is of immense relevance to researchers and academicians who are searching for answers to this pandemic. This will provide insights to academicians to collaborate with other researchers based on the quality of the research produced by other countries and institutes. The study is useful for researchers, immunologists and epidemiologists who are interested in the field of Coronavirus and serves as a base for future research.

When i began teaching twenty-five years ago, the standards (NCTM 1989, 2000) did not exist and interdisciplinary connections were seldom made. My first opportunity to explore subject-area connections occurred when a science teacher commented on the inability of students to calculate percentages or the speed of a small car rolling down a ramp. We organized curricular topics that allowed me to teach skills, such as finding percentages, before students applied them in the science lab. Not surprisingly, students performed better on the unit tests and seemed to remember the skills for longer periods of time. From this experience, I began to search for ways to help students understand that mathematics was more than following procedures.

The relevance of the article is determined by the need to overcome the existing differences in understanding the subject area of the family studies in Russian sociology today. The aim of the article is a revision of subject boundaries and methodological problems of the family sociology. The novelty of the work is in identifying the externalist and internalist factors that are differentiating the sociological research methodology of marriage and family relations from it’s in other sciences. But currently, there is a tendency to overcome the cognitive one-sidedness of various disciplinary approaches in an attempt to create a comprehensive science of the family.

The paper describes the philosophical context of multifractal characteristics of network mediacommunications development trends. The analysis of these trends shapes the contours of new subject field of not only socio-philosophical or cultural studies, but also inter-disciplinary researches of the multifractality phenomenon as a whole. Consideration of the multifractal prospects from the point of view of social philosophy of culture of an informational society is a kind of inter-disciplinary research in a sphere of philosophical works. The paper forms a discourse of the multifractal mediacommunications in a global networking space. Mediacommunications in this research are defined as a kind of social communications in a media sphere. The main problem of the research may be reduced to the question: is it possible to characterize the issue of multifractality of network mediacommunications in a philosophical context? The purpose of the research is the analysis of the philosophical aspect of multifractality of network mediacommunications in the information civilization. The object of study is a variety of processes of social communications development connected to the prospects of modern mediacommunications. The main hypothesis formulated in the research is that elaboration of the philosophical theory of global networking mediacommunications may be of a fractal-like nature. The concept of multifractality is defined as a process and result of designing complex self-similar structures based on the consistent use of several algorithms to create different fractals.
