The paper contains data about 20 new and rare lichens of the Chuvash Prisurye. 10 lichens are new for the Chuvash Republic, 5 species are new for the Privolzhskaya Upland. The identified lichen species are indicators of old-growth, undisturbed and intact forests that have been preserved in specially protected natural areas. There are 18 species in the National Park Chuvash varmane and 8 species in the State Nature Reserve Prisursky. Geographical coordinates, distribution features in neighboring regions, ecological-substrate and phytocenotic confinement and age status are indicated for each species. The information on the ecology and distribution of rare lichen species is updated. 18 species of lichens ( Bryoria nadvornikiana , Br. trichodes , Cetrelia olivetorum , Cresponea chloroconia , Evernia divaricata , Heterodermia speciosa , Leptogium cyanescens , L. saturninum , Nephroma parile , Scytinium subtile , Sc. teretiusculum , Sc. tenuissimum , Usnea dasopoga , Us. florida , Us. subfloridana , Ramalina thrausta , R. sinensis , Xanthomendoza ulophyllodes ) are proposed in the new edition of the Red book of the Chuvash Republic with the Status III - rare species. 2 lichen species ( Cetraria ericetorum , Lobaria pulmonaria ) are classified as category II-vulnerable species, declining in number.

This paper presents a comparative-temporal ecological characterization of the southern chernozem under the regime of the Aituar steppe site command of the Orenburg State Nature Reserve. The degree of ecological rehabilitation of chernozems in specially protected natural areas is shown. Quantitative data are provided on the supply of soil with nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, and the content of heavy metals in the soil. Determination of the content of heavy metals and trace elements in soil samples (according to the method of Krupsky and Aleksandrova in the modification of the Central Institute of Agrochemical Services for Agriculture) was conducted in accordance with GOST 50683-94. The determination of mobile compounds of phosphorus and potassium was carried out by the method of Machigin (GOST-26205-91), organic matter by the Tyurin method (GOST 26213-9), alkaline hydrolyzable nitrogen by Kornfield. The paper presents the results of a comparison of agrochemical and ecology-toxicological studies of southern chernozem in 1996-2016. The main morphogenetic characteristics of the soil profile of the chernozem of the southern carbonate low-humus low-mass medium loamy are given. Data of morphological, physical and agrochemical properties of soils were subjected to mathematical and statistical treatment. This allowed the authors to determine morphological parameters, qualitative and quantitative characteristics of the soil and their variation within the elementary soil areas, depending on the position in the landscape and the nature of use. The data obtained indicate a positive dynamics in the provision of soil with humus and elements of mineral nutrition of plants, as well as a significant reduction in the content of heavy metals throughout the soil profile. Thus, we can talk about the natural restoration of soil fertility in conditions of a protected regime in specially protected natural areas.

On the territory of Kuzbass there are 29 specially protected natural areas with a total area of 1.3 thousand hectares. The existing system of protected areas of Kuzbass is a protected area of federal significance (the State Nature Reserve Kuznetskiy Alatau, the National Natural Park Shorskiy, the State Natural Monument Lipovy Ostrov), 22 protected areas of regional and 4 protected areas of municipal importance. The purpose of this study is to analyze the location of specially protected natural areas in terms of the floristic zoning of Kuzbass and the primary analysis of the PA system in Kuzbass.

Tram Chim National Park in Southern Vietnam is a wetland area included in the system of specially protected natural areas (SPNA). For the purposes of land monitoring, we studied Landsat-5 and Sentinel-2B images obtained in 1991, 2006 and 2019. The methods of normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) and water objects – normalized difference water index (NDWI) were used to estimate the vegetation in National Park. The allocated land is classifi ed by the maximum likelihood method in ENVI 5.3 into categories. For each image, a statistical analysis of the land after classifi cation was performed. Between 1991 and 2019, land changes occurred in about 57 % of the Tram Chim National Park total area. As a result, the wetland area has signifi cantly reduced there due to climate change. However, the area of Melaleuca forests in Tram Chim National Park has increased due to the effi ciency of reforestation in protected areas. Melaleuca forests are also being restored.

The paper provides information about lichens found on the territory of the state natural reserve Zavolzhsky, which is a specially protected natural area of the Chuvash Republic. It was established for the protection of the unique natural landscape, located on the territory of Cheboksary and Cheboksary District, as well as for rare and endangered animals, plants and other organisms from high anthropogenic activity. As a result of lichen investigations (2011-2016) 134 species belong to 59 genera from 31 families of lichen flora were recorded. It emphasizes a high environmental significance of this territory. The paper shows substrate and biotope confinement for each lichen species. The investigations were conducted in detail-route method using a GPS-navigator. In the paper the locations of rare lichen species are given according to the new quarterly network of the Cheboksary forestry. We examined the lichen diversity in 14 quarters of 3 forest districts: Pihtulynskoe, Severnoe, Sosnovskoe; lichen collections were carried out in 36 habitats. The habitat of rare and endangered lichen Lobaria pulmonaria was found on the territory of the reserve. This species is included to the Red Data Book of Russia. According to the results of the study we recommend to include 15 rare lichen species to the new edition of Red Data Book of the Chuvash Republic: Arthonia cinereoprunosa , Acrocordia gemmata , Bryoria implexa , Bryoria subcana , Bryoria nadvornikiana , Dimerella pineti , Lobaria pulmonaria , Mycobilimbia epixanthoides , Mycobilimbia carneoalbida , Mycobilimbia tetramera , Platismatia glauca , Usnea dasopoga , Usnea lapponica , Usnea subfloridana , Xanthomendoza ulophyllodes.

A well established population of the soil-dwelling polychaete Parergodrilus heideri Reisinger, 1925 was discovered during a survey of the woodland soil fauna in the Astroni Crater (a State Nature Reserve near Naples, Italy, 50 m a.s.l., 40°50′52″N, 14°08′59″E) (Fig. 1A, B). This is the southernmost capture of this worm in Europe (Fig. 2A), although a lower latitude record (35°22′0.4″N, 127°34′52″E), the sole (so far) outside the continent, has been reported recently from Korea in this same journal (Dózsa-Farkas & Hong 2010). In Italy the species was known only from the Casentino National Park (1,120 m a.s.l.) in Tuscany and the Regional Park of Suviana and Brasimone Lakes (975 m a.s.l.) in Emilia Romagna (Rota 1997; Rota et al. 2001). Also in central Europe the species appears confined to mountain habitats (650-1,200 m a.s.l.), the lowland records being located along the northern coasts of Spain and Germany and in southern Sweden (Fig. 2A, B).

The state nature complex (landscape) nature reserve of regional importance “Lekshmokh” (Arkhangelsk region) was created on June 14, 2019. It adjoins the borders of the Kenozersky National Park. Its area is 25248.7 ha. The watershed territory of the reserve is extremely important for the ecological balance of the ecosystems of the Kenozersky National Park and the drainage basins of the Onega, Kena, Lacha, Lekshmozero and Kenozero lakes. During the course of their development, the marshes of the reserve and the forest-bog complexes located inside them and framing them formed a bog system unique to the Kargopol region in terms of floristic diversity. Until now, the lichenobiota of the Lekshmoh reserve has remained virtually unexplored. The purpose of this study is to study the lichens of the Lekshmokh reserve as important components of biota. During the primary survey of the State Nature Complex Lekshmokh reserve, 96 species of lichens were noted. For each species, abundance is given on a 5-point scale. Among the lichens of the reserve, two species from the Red Book of the Arkhangelsk Region are noted: Bryoria fremontii and Lobaria pulmonaria. A large number of types of indicators of air purity are growing in the reserve: Usnea, Bryoria, Evernia, etc. This indicates the ecological value of the reserve, located away from industrial centers. Based on the reserve, a background environmental monitoring system studies are possible.

The results of the cadastral survey of 4 reservoirs located on the territory of the Korgalzhyn State Nature Reserve are presented. The assessment of the main biological characteristics of living fish is given: size, weight composition, linear and weight growth rate. In total, 15 species of fish from 5 families were found in the surveyed reservoirs in 2016-2020. The carp family is most widely represented in the reservoirs of the national park, 9 species are noted, the loach, pike and stickleback families are represented by 1 species, perch — 3 species. According to the results of research fishing, it was found that in the lakes of the Korgalzhynsky SNR, the organization of reclamation fishing in the form of total trapping and research fishing is necessary in 2021.

The methodology of ecotourism potential evaluation in protected areas has been presented, the Mur-mansk region as a case study.The attractive protected areas for tourismtrade have been defined at the first stage. Among areas with the maximal scores are: National Park«Khibiny», Polar-Alpine Botanical Garden-Institute, Nature Parks «Poluostrova Rybachy i Sredny» and «Korablekk», Zakaznik «Kutsa», the Lapland State Nature Reserve and Nature Monuments «AstrophyllityGoryEveslogchorr», «Kriptogram-movoyeUshchelye», «Ushchelye Aikuaivenchorr», «Vodopad na Reke Shuoniyoki » and «Amethysts of Ship Cape». Whether it’s possibleto combine the tourism and nature conservation, we have evaluated at the next stage. National Park «Khibiny», Nature Park «Poluostrova Rybachy i Sredny», Polar-Alpine Botanical Garden-Instituteand Zakaznik «Kutsa» have got the highest scores. The recommendations for tourist trade have been offered for each group of protected areas.

The problem of protecting rare communities in the vegetation cover still remains poorly studied. Currently, it is relevant for aquatic and coastal aquatic plant communities of lakes and river estuaries of the Arkhangelsk Region. Two critical criteria were used to distinguish rare communities: 1) protected species are cenosis-formers, 2) species that were first noted outside the northern border of the ranges are either cenosis-formers, or abundant in the composition of communities. The first criterion includes communities with species listed in the Red Data Books of the Russian Federation (2008) and the Arkhangelsk Region (), if these species are significant from the point of phytocenosis. The last includes taxa and plant populations of the Arkhangelsk Region that need special attention to their state in the natural environment and are recommended for bio-surveillance. The second criterion includes the communities of the Glycerietum fluitantis association located on the coast of the Pechora Inlet, which were described here for the first time. The communities’ habitats are water bodies that differ significantly in hydrological conditions. Lobelietum dsortmannae, Isoëto lacustris–Lobelietum dortmannii, Isoëto echinosporae–Lobelietum dortmannae, Lobelieto dortmannae–Phragmitetum australis, Lobelieto dortmannae–Caricetum rostratae, Fontinalieto dalecarlicae–Phragmitetum australis, Fontinalieto dalecarlicae–Nupharetum lutea associations are typical for oligotrophic and oligo-mesotrophic lakes of the hydrocarbonate class with low water salinity. Nympheto candidae–Nupharetum pumilae, Potamogeneto natantis–Nymphaeetum tetragonae, Chareto virgatae–Scirpetum lacustris associations are identified in eutrophic and mesotrophic lakes. Communities of Chareto strigosae–Charetum asperae, Charetum subspinosae, Chareto subspinosae–Phragmitetum australis charosum subspinosae associations develop in sulfate lakes with increased water salinity. Ruppietum maritimae, Glycerietum fluitantis purum, Hippurideto tetraphillae–Glycerietum, and Zannichellia pedunculata communities are typical for river estuaries. We have described most of the rare communities for specially protected natural areas of the Arkhangelsk Region: in the Kenozero National Park, the Onega Pomorie National Park, the Pinezhskiy Nature Reserve, the Nenetskiy Nature Reserve, and the Pakhanchenskiy Nature Reserve. At the end of the article, some recommendations for the protection of rare communities are given. They are useful for monitoring such species in protected areas. The protection of rare communities is based on the principle that any species that is part of the community is its integral part. The destruction of cenosis-forming species leads to the disappearance of both an integral unique community and protected species as a part of it, regardless of whether they are phytocenotically significant, or grow singularly within the community.
