Mathematical Model Development to Support Decision Making in Engineering Asset Management

In this chapter, the author based his research on his authentic mixed multidisciplinary applied mathematical model that is supported by a tree-base heuristics module, named the applied holistic mathematical model for organizational asset management (AHMM4OAM), where the proposed AHMM4OAM is similar to the human empirical decision making process, which can be applied to any type of asset management discipline, in order to support the evolution of organisational, national, or enterprise asset management. The AHMM4OAM can be used for the detection of financial irregularities, assets optimisations and eventual dangers for the organisation's or national assets. In the case of gigantic financial misdeeds that endanger national assets, which are related to fraud and money laundering that damage many organisations and even countries, and in this concrete case it is related to the Swiss, Union des Banques Suisse (UBS), in which 32 trillion US dollars are hidden and is the problem of global financial disequilibria. The AHMM4OAM is supported by a real-life case of a organisational (or business) transformation architecture in the domain of organizational (or enterprise) asset management (OAM) that is supported by the alignment of a standardized organisational or enterprise architecture blueprint.

ABSTRACT In the mechanical harvesting of sugarcane, a self-propelled harvester is used in conjunction with an agricultural implement named infield wagon, which has the function of storing and transporting the harvested product. Much of the cost of sugarcane production comes from this operation (30 to 60%). Among the operational costs of agricultural machinery, the cost of repair and maintenance (CRM) is relevant. Therefore, the objective of this study was to determine the parameters of the CRM mathematical model based on the life (hours of use) for the infield wagon, using the method of the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE). These CRM models were obtained for two sets of infield wagon from different manufacturers and their costs over up to 12 years. The model was adjusted and then validated using descriptive statistics methods. Fitted CRM equations were different for each analyzed set of infield wagon and, therefore, are a valuable tool in the management of mechanization in sugarcane mills as it provides elements that can support decision-making of managers in the acquisition and management of agricultural implements.

Objectives. The problem of automating the user information support in decision making system at the stage of describing the problem situation is solved. The relevance of the problem is associated with the need to collect and process significant amounts of information, since in the presence of a large number of factors, a person's capabilities are often insufficient to search and organize the necessary information.When solving the problem of user information support at the stage of describing the problem situation, three main goals are pursued: building a mathematical model of the corresponding processes; formalization of the set of basic concepts of the model; development of the algorithms for implementation of user interaction with the information system.Methods. Methods of set theory, probability theory and graph theory are used.Results. A mathematical model of user information support at the stage of describing a problem situation has been developed. In the process of interacting with the user, the system suggests special templates of sentences and texts for filling. Along with templates, the user receives help texts from the system. They are generated on the basis of the previously developed model of knowledge representation in the form of verbal associations, that is, semantic links between words and phrases corresponding to associative relationships between the entities they designate in the real world.Conclusion. As an implementation of the proposed model, the following algorithms have been developed: an algorithm for creating a dictionary of communicative fragments; algorithms for creating fragment-slot templates for sentences, texts and subject areas; an algorithm of user information support. The vocabulary of communicative fragments is created in four steps in accordance with their formal definition. At each step, four conditions from the given definition are tested sequentially. Fragment-slot templates of sentences are formed by replacing their basic communicative fragments with slots, and text templates - as tuples of templates of their sentences. Fragment-slot templates of subject areas are created in the form of implementation of binary relations reductions on the sets of sentence templates from the corresponding thematic text corpora. Each thematic body of texts defines a certain subject area.

The paper considers the mathematical model development technique to build a vector field of the shape deviations when machining flat surfaces of shell parts on multi-operational machines under conditions of anisotropic rigidity in technological system (TS). The technological system has an anisotropic rigidity, as its elastic strains do not obey the accepted concepts, i.e. the rigidity towards the coordinate axes of the machine is the same, and they occur only towards the external force. The record shows that the diagrams of elastic strains of machine units are substantially different from the circumference. The issues to ensure the specified accuracy require that there should be mathematical models describing kinematic models and physical processes of mechanical machining under conditions of the specific TS. There are such models for external and internal surfaces of rotation [2,3], which are successfully implemented in practice. Flat surfaces (FS) of shell parts (SP) are both assembly and processing datum surfaces. Therefore, on them special stipulations are made regarding deviations of shape and mutual arrangement. The axes of the main bearing holes are coordinated with respect to them. The joints that ensure leak tightness and distributed load on the product part are closed on these surfaces. The paper deals with the analytical construction of the vector field F, which describes with appropriate approximation the real surface obtained as a result of modeling the process of machining flat surfaces (MFS) through face milling under conditions of anisotropic properties.

The reception of journalists at the Waspada Daily Medan always went through several rigorous selections before being determined to be accepted as journalists at the Waspada Medan Daily. There are several criteria that must be possessed by each participant as a condition for becoming a journalist in the Daily Alert Medan. To get the best participants, the Waspada Medan Daily needed a decision support system. Decision Support Systems (SPK) are part of computer-based information systems (including knowledge-based systems (knowledge management)) that are used to support decision making within an organization or company. Decision support systems provide a semitructured decision, where no one knows exactly how the decision should be made. In this study the authors applied the VlseKriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje (VIKOR) as the method to be applied in the decision support system application. The VIKOR method is part of the Multi-Attibut Decision Making (MADM) Concept, which requires normalization in its calculations. Within a clinical sports medical setting the discussion about doping is insufficient. In elite-sports use of pharmaceutical agents is daily business in order to maintain the expected top-level performance. Unfortunately, a similar development could be observed in the general population of leisure athletes where medical supervision is absent. As a sports physician you are facing imminent ethical questions when standing in between. Therefore, we propose the application of a standardised risk score as a tool to promote doping-prevention and launch the debate within athlete-physician-relationship. In the longterm such kind of risk stratification systems may support decision-making with regard to «protective» exclusion of sporting competition.
