Research aims: This study examines the direct and indirect effects of eWOM and environmental concerns on second-hand clothing purchase intention. However, on the intervening variable, this study used customer engagement.Design/Methodology/Approach: This quantitative research distributed questionnaires to 222 college students aged 18-24 years who were interested in and were familiar with the concept of using second-hand clothes, who were also lived in Yogyakarta. The questionnaire results were then processed utilizing the structural equation modeling-partial least square (SEM-PLS) technique.Research findings: This study’s findings showed that consumer engagement had a full mediating impact between eWOM and intention in buying second-hand clothes. However, it only partially affected the relationship between environmental concern and the intention to purchase used clothes.Theoretical contribution/Originality: Previous studies have investigated the relationship between eWOM and purchase intention through customer engagement as a mediating variable, but little literature involves environmental concerns in the model. Another contribution is the findings that revealed that eWOM could not influence students' purchase intention in second-hand clothes without the involvement of customer engagement.Practitioner/Policy implication: The author suggests that second-hand clothes sellers and non-profit organizations could increase young people's involvement in making environmentally friendly consumption in the form of buying used clothes by increasing consumer engagement.Research limitation/Implication: This research's limitations include the limited variables studied and the characteristics of respondents who only focused on generation Z, especially students in Yogyakarta.

With the advent of the Internet and other digital technologies, contemporary businesses from all sectors are using social media for communication with consumers to engage them meaningfully with a brand. However, the use of social media for corporate social responsibility (CSR) communication is relatively new to the existing literature. Likewise, the impact of CSR communication through social media (CSR-S) on consumer emotions and behavior is, to date, underexplored. To address this, the present research aims to test the relationship of CSR-S on brand admiration and consumer purchase intention. The study proposes a direct relationship between CSR-S and purchase intention with a mediating effect of brand admiration. The data were collected from the banking consumers of Pakistan through a self-administered questionnaire. The authors distributed 800 questionnaires and received 463 questionnaires useful for data analysis, so the present research study response rate was around 59%. The data were analyzed using the structural equation modeling (SEM) technique in AMOS. The results revealed that CSR-S is positively related to purchase intention (β = 0.233). The results further showed that brand admiration partially mediates this relationship (β = 0.079). The survey respondents confirmed that their bank’s CSR communication helps enhance their purchase likelihood and their feelings of admiration for their bank. These findings will help policymakers at banking institutions better understand the importance of CSR communication on different social media platforms to achieve consumer-related outcomes.

<p>O objetivo com a presente pesquisa foi avaliar a relação da preocupação ambiental do consumidor com sua efetiva declaração de compra de produtos verdes no varejo. Orientado por uma linha de pesquisa que busca explicar o fato de o comportamento ter como precedente a intenção e não a atitude, foi avaliado se a preocupação dos consumidores com o meio ambiente está sendo convertidas em intenção de compra e posterior declaração de compra. O problema que orientou a pesquisa pode ser expresso pela seguinte questão: a preocupação ambiental está relacionada com a intenção de compra para se tornar compra declarada de produtos verdes no varejo? Para responder a essa questão e atender ao objetivo proposto, foi realizada uma pesquisa de natureza quantitativa por meio de um <em>survey</em> com 1.233 consumidores reais de quatro capitais brasileiras, avaliando-se a percepção que eles possuem de si mesmos e dos outros. A análise de dados foi feita utilizando-se a modelagem de equações estruturais por meio do <em>software</em> SmartPLS 3.0. Os resultados indicam que os consumidores pesquisados não demonstram relacionar diretamente sua preocupação ambiental com a compra declarada de produtos verdes, que revelou ser formada pela intenção de compra. Guided by a line of research that seeks to explain the fact that the behavior has as a precedent the intention and not the attitude was assessed to consumer concern about the environment and these are converted into purchase intent and purchase later statement. The problem oriented research can be expressed by the following question: Environmental concern is related to the purchase intention to become declared purchase of green products at retail? To resolve this matter and meet the proposed objective, a quantitative research through a survey with the 1233 actual consumers of four brazilian capitals assessing his perception as an individual was carried out and as he watches others. Data analysis was performed using the structural equation modeling through SmartPLS 3.0 software. The results indicate that consumers surveyed do not demonstrate directly relate their environmental concerns with the purchase declared for green products, which were shown to be formed by purchase intent. This perception takes place in the two conditions, when they respond on their perception and when they answer about how he observes others (society).</p><p>Keywords:<strong> </strong>Green consumption. Based on the convergence of social-identity and theory of reasoned action (TORA), the purpose of this research is to investigate the mediating effect of brand engagement and store image on the relationship between consumer brand identification and purchase intention. The study empirically investigates a theoretical framework developed from literature evidence using partial-least squares (PLS) structural equation modeling (SEM) to test hypotheses. A structured questionnaire, measuring items on a Likert seven scale, was used to collect data from 344 participants among shoppers of famous retail chains in Muscat. The results indicated that store-brand identification (SBI) alone is a weak predictor of purchase intention (PI). The results revealed that brand engagement (BE) and store image (SI) fully mediate the relationship between SBI and PI. Intrinsically, the study serves to enhance the insight into customers’ attitudes towards private-labeled store brands with a focus on the Omani retail market. The findings contribute a valuable insight on retail marketing strategies, and an interpretation into branding literature related to retail marketing and provide an understanding of marketing strategies and guidance for retail store management in Oman both at a strategic and tactical level.

Aim/Purpose: This paper aimed to examine the impact of learning orientation on organizational performance of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) via the mediating role of total quality management (TQM) practices and the moderating role of innovation culture. Background: SMEs’ organizational performance in developing countries, particularly in Kuwait, remains below expectation due to increasing competition and inadequate managerial practices that negatively impact their performance. Although several studies had revealed a significant effect of learning orientation on SMEs’ performance, the direct impact of learning orientation on their performance is still unclear. Thus, the link between learning orientation and organizational performance remains inconclusive and requires further examination. Methodology: This study adopted a quantitative approach based on a cross-sectional survey and descriptive design to gather the data in a specific period. The data were collected by distributing a survey questionnaire to the owners and Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of Kuwaiti SMEs using online and on-hand instruments with 384 useable data obtained. Furthermore, the partial least square-structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) analysis was performed to test the hypotheses. Contribution: This study bridged the significant gap in the role of learning orientation on SMEs’ performance in developing countries, specifically Kuwait. In this sense, a conceptual model was introduced, comprising a learning orientation, TQM practices, innovation culture, and organizational performance. In addition, this study confirmed the significant influence of TQM practices and innovation culture as intermediate variables in strengthening the relationship between learning orientation and organizational performance, which has not yet been verified in Kuwait. Findings: The results in this study revealed that learning orientation had a significant impact on organizational performance of SMEs in Kuwait. It could be observed that TQM practices play an important role in mediating the relationship between learning orientation and performance of SMEs, as well as that innovation culture plays an important moderating role in the same relation. Recommendations for Practitioners: This study provided a framework for the decision-makers of SMEs on the significant impact of the antecedents that enhanced the level of organizational performance. Hence, owners/CEOs of SMEs should improve their awareness and knowledge of the importance of learning orientation, TQM practices, and innovation culture since it could significantly influence their performance to achieve success and sustainability when adopted and managed systematically. The CEOs should also consider building an innovation culture in the internal environment, which enables them to transform new knowledge and ideas into innovative methods and practices. Recommendation for Researchers: The results in this study highlighted the mediating effect of TQM practices on the relationship between learning orientation (the independent variable) and organizational performance (the dependent variable) of SMEs and the moderating effect of innovation culture in the same nexus. These relationships were not extensively addressed in SMEs and thus required further validation. Impact on Society: This study also influenced the management strategies and practices adopted by entrepreneurs and policymakers working in SMEs in developing countries, which is reflected in their development and the national economy. Future Research: Future studies should apply the conceptual framework of this study and assess it further in other sectors, including large firms in developing and developed countries, to generalize the results. Additionally, other mechanisms should be introduced as significant antecedents of SMEs’ performance, such as market orientation, technological orientation, and entrepreneurial orientation, which could function with learning orientation to influence organizational performance effectively.

This study investigated the relationships among resilience, social anxiety, and procrastination in a sample of college students. Specifically, structural equation modeling analyses were applied to examine the effect of resilience on procrastination and to test the mediating effect of social anxiety. The results of this study suggested that social anxiety partially mediated the relationship between resilience and procrastination. Students with higher levels of resilience reported a lower frequency of procrastination behavior, and resilience had an indirect effect on procrastination through social anxiety. The results of this study clarify the current knowledge of the mixed results on resilience and procrastination behaviors and offer practical learning strategies and psychological interventions.

Transition to sustainability is a long-term challenge which should also actively engage consumers, as consumption causes environmental stress. In order to understand how consumers adopt eco-products, we conducted an extensive literature review of green consumerism and presented findings of 47 previous research works. In addition, this study’s aim was to explore whether consumers remain only concerned about the environment or whether they actually make a difference. Moreover, we examined gender differences. Because the relationship between consumers’ environmental concern and purchase intention is not straightforward, we aimed to explore the effect of consumers’ environmental concern on their purchase intention. The purpose of this paper was to explore how consumers’ familiarity with and consciousness of eco-products and their perceived sense of environmental responsibility mediate the relationship between consumers’ environmental concern and their purchase intention. We used structural equation modeling to test the proposed conceptual model based on a sample of 705 Slovenian consumers. Our findings suggest that all the above-mentioned constructs mediate the relationship between consumers’ environmental concern and their purchase intention in relation to eco-products. However, consumers’ consciousness of eco-products has the greatest effect in channeling environmental concern into purchase intention of eco-products. In addition, the findings indicate that female consumers express greater environmental concern, consciousness of eco-products, and perceived environmental responsibility than male consumers. The paper concludes with policy and managerial implications, theoretical implications, limitations of the study, and future research directions based on the findings of consumers’ perspectives.

Digital banks based on new transaction systems, such as those developed in financial technology contexts, have begun to challenge and compete with traditional banks. Against this backdrop, in this study I examined how customer experience of digital banking, including usefulness, convenience, employee–customer engagement, and security, affected their satisfaction and reuse intention, and how customer satisfaction mediated the relationship between customer experience and reuse intention. To do this I conducted a survey with 247 Korean digital bank users. Structural equation modeling was used to test the relationships between the variables and further compare full and partial mediation models. The empirical results reveal that the four customer experience variables positively influenced reuse intention through satisfaction. These findings add to understanding of the mechanisms of customer reuse of digital banks, and provide practitioners with meaningful implications for developing strategies to improve customer and bank management.

PurposeThis study aims to identify the factors that influence customer satisfaction in the banking sector from the perspective of employee characteristics. More specifically, this study identifies the impact of employee etiquettes, employee performance, technical selling skills and customer-oriented behavior on customer satisfaction in the banking industry. The study also seeks to investigate the mediating effect of employee etiquettes, employee performance and technical selling skills on the relationship between customer satisfaction and customer-oriented behavior.Design/methodology/approachThe data were collected with the help of a Likert scale questionnaire from the active banking customers in Karachi, Pakistan, who visit bank branches once a month minimum. For 268 responses, partial least square-structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) technique was employed for hypothesis testing.FindingsThe results showed a positive and significant relationship between customer-oriented behavior and employee etiquettes, technical selling skills and performance. The employee’s customer-oriented behavior, etiquettes, technical selling skills and performance were also found to be significantly related with customer satisfaction. Finally, the results revealed that technical selling skills, employee performance and employee etiquettes partially mediate the relationship between customer-oriented behavior and customer satisfaction.Practical implicationsIt is recommended that banking employees should adopt customer-oriented behavior in order to achieve and maintain customer satisfaction. The bank managers should also work on improving the etiquettes and performance of the employees and provide them detailed technical knowledge of the services and products offered by the bank.Originality/valueArguably, it is one of the first studies to examine the mediating effects of employees' technical selling skills and employees' performance on the relationship between customer orientation and customer satisfaction, specifically in the banking industry.

Purpose The purpose of this study is to focus on what factors and variables affect the consumers’ intention to purchase green products and lead them to prefer green ecologic products to other products and choose to buy them. Design/methodology/approach For this purpose, a total of 450 students from the Islamic Azad University of Yazd took part in this survey. The research method was applied in terms of purpose and in terms of analysis, it was of the scaling type. The data collection tool and sampling for the questionnaire were done randomly and to determine the sample, the Cochran formula was used. This study used the SPSS software to analyze the descriptive statistics (demographical factors) and through the software LISREL, the connection between the variables was investigated by structural equation modeling. Findings The results indicated that environmental beliefs affect environmental concern and there must be a meaningful relationship between them. Also, the increase in environmental concern leads to an increase in the attitude to consuming green products, and finally, an increase in the consumers’ demand for purchasing green products. Furthermore, an increase in environmental concerns also increases positive emotions, which, in turn, increases the consumers’ will to purchase green products. Finally, there is a meaningful relationship between environmental concerns and negative emotion while there is no significant relation between was reported between negative emotions and the will to purchase. Research limitations/implications The tested model now uses purchase intention as a result variable instead of real purchase, and in practice, it will be difficult to develop a research framework in controlled real behavior. Originality/value Investigating the role of positive and negative emotions on the intention of purchasing green products helps marketing managers up to by correct identifying consumers’ emotions can designing appropriate strategies for encouraging them to use green products.

This study aims to investigate the effects of website visual design on purchase intention in B2C environments. This purpose was addressed through the use of The Stimulus-Organism-Response (S-O-R) model, in which a number of hypotheses were drawn. The proposed model in this study was examined was examined through an empirical study involving 532 online shoppers using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) techniques. The results of this study indicated that consumers' perceptions of website visual design influence website trust and website attitude, which in turn positively boost online purchase intention. The results also revealed a partial mediating effect of website trust and attitude in the relationship between website visual design and purchase intention. Theoretical and practical implications of these findings are discussed in the paper.
