The paper describes the problems of structural changes and structural policy within the framework of the relation between economic growth and structural changes, with attention given to the explanation of the principal growth and restructuring functions and their agents in the transition process. The basic alternative approaches to structural policy and their limits in achieving the designed goals are presented, including more general problems accompanying the structurally oriented economic policy-making. The paper is concluded with consideration of structural policy priorities in the transition process, and in support of adjustment capacity, influencing the costs of necessary structural changes.

The ability of an economy to adapt to changing economic conditions through the implementation of structural changes is linked to its ability to effectively generate economic growth. The need to know the intensity and direction of favourable structural changes is of key importance for achieving their high efficiency. In the article, a critical analysis of the different structural economic policies is made, taking into account the consequences of implementing the ones that are not in line with the real economic circumstances. Examples of so-called premature deindustrialisation as a result of inadequate structural policy are also considered. In conclusion, the vision of the role of the state in the conduct of a structural economic policy to achieve favourable economic results is presented.

The purpose of this paper is to explore the extent to which traditional economic policies can be oriented by sound practices. It is becoming widely accepted that sustainable economic growth (and not only economic growth) is the final target of economic policies, but some economic policies are applied just looking to the short-run without taking in account the long-run perspective. Our aim is to show how a sustainable economic policy-making would be possible, making compatible the stabilization of the economy in the short-run with a sustainable economic growth in the long-run. We confront the design of economic policies with the 17 goals of the 2030 Agenda. We argue that all sustainable development goals can be attained by the design and implementation of sustainable economic policies. Finally, to illustrate this point, we will conduct a simulation exercise to show under which combinations of demand policies technological shocks would promote a path of sustainable growth. Our results will provide a reference framework for a sustainable economic policy-making.

Structural change is an important feature in the process of economic growth. Most economies in the process of economic growth have appeared similar structural adjustment. The primary industry labor share declines; the tertiary industry labor share increases; the secondary industry labor share presents an inverted u-shaped change. This paper aims to analyze the driving mechanism of structural transformation from the perspectives of supply, demand, input and output, international trade and government public expenditure, and finally make a prospect for future structural transformation research from the perspectives of producer heterogeneity and consumer heterogeneity as well as the fourth wave of technological change — artificial intelligence.

The author stresses two important facets of contemporary growth. First, the importance of profound structural changes and development of post-industrial economic system. Second, the specifics of post-revolutionary development which means high level of transaction costs and diminishing rate of "reconstruction growth". The problems of WTO accession and Common European Economic Area are discussed also from the prospects of consolidation of economic growth. The influence of the forthcoming elections on the economic policy is also under discussion. The paper provides a list of economic policy priorities for 2003 and for the medium-term (3-4 years).

In this article an attempt was made to answer the question of why economic policy must not only perceive the process of globalization and integration, but should also be led in a way which would exploit the opportunities created for the Polish economy by globalization and economic integration. This particularly applies to developing a long-term strategy for socio-economic growth, and implementation of structural policy, which is financed by the European Union.

In Kosovo and in the new consolidating countries the fiscal policy plays the primary role in the functioning of the state, its institutions and economic growth in general. In the lack of monetary policy instruments, fiscal policy remains the only means available to the Kosovo Government for promoting investments in the private sector. Therefore, sound and prudent fiscal policies is key to maintaining macroeconomic stability, particularly when considering that fiscal policy is the main instrument of economic policy in Kosovo. Special emphases is given fiscal policies applied in Kosovo, its reforms, actions to be taken on the occasion of the policy-making reforms and finally are given appropriate recommendations.

The article is devoted to the formation and implementation of state structural policy, which is closely linked to economic growth and development of the economy as a whole. Economic growth must be sustainable and long-lasting, which requires a combination of all types and instruments of structural policy, depending on the time period and level of functioning of the economy. Due to structural changes, low-income countries can bridge the gap and catch up with highly developed countries. This relationship is not absolute, the intensity of structural change can be both a consequence and a cause of economic growth. At the same time, all significant and long periods of rapid economic growth after the Second World War, as a rule, took place against the background of pronounced structural reforms within national economies. Due to which these countries demonstrated «economic miracles». Highlighting the main trends of structural reforms in the world economy is important primarily in terms of developing an effective structural policy in Ukraine. The study used methods of analysis and synthesis, historical and logical, grouping and classification, comparison. The content of structural policy has been clarified by domestic and foreign scholars. It is established that the concepts of structural and industrial policy are either identified or there is no clear demarcation line between them. The tools of vertical, horizontal and matrix structural policy are highlighted. American, Japanese and European models of structural policy on the example of the USA, Japan, Germany, France, Great Britain are considered. The structural policy of these countries is formed as a result of applying an integrated approach to its priority areas and the mechanism of its implementation. It has an internal integrative form, which is manifested in the constant increase in the level of interaction with other areas of economic policy, thus creating a synergistic effect of economic development as a whole. The general tendency of structural changes in the world economy is revealed – growth of a share of sphere of services at preservation of rather stable share of the processing industry. Together, they are seen as drivers of economic growth. Adaptive elements of implementation of world experience in "design" of structural policy of Ukraine are offered.

There is a general consensus in the economic literature that there is a strong correlation between structural changes and economic growth: structural changes are the most significant repercussion of economic growth, but at the same time, in the long run, it's most important factor. Having in mind this fact, the analysis of structural changes and economic growth of the Republic of Serbia is a key research issue on which this paper focuses. In that sense, the paper, based on relevant theoretical knowledge and reference statistics on the movement of basic macroeconomic indicators, monitors and analyzes the effects of applied models of economic growth in the process of structural adjustment of the economy of the Republic of Serbia during the first two decades of the 21st century, in which major, and in some sub periods, specific structural changes took place.

At present Russia faces the task of great importance - effective integration into the world economy. The success of this process largely depends on the strength of the domestic economy and stable economic growth. To attain such a goal certain changes in economic approaches are required which imply more active, focused and concerted steps in the monetary, fiscal and foreign exchange policy.
