In 2015 the United Nations approved the 2030 Agenda which established 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The importance of these SGDs to universities, and universities’ commitment to them, requires not only involvement but also the development of research projects, instruments and practices that enable the SDGs to be carried out. Conflict is inherent within any social group and the need to perceive, analyse and manage it is crucial in order to move towards sustainable social development. This research paper analyses conflict existing within the university environment. It specifically relates to students studying for two degrees at the University of Granada (Spain): a degree in Social Work and a degree in Labour Relations and Human Resources. The main instrument used to gather information was a survey addressed to students of both degrees. As a quantitative research technique, it has allowed us to gather evidence about and analyse students’ perceptions of conflict. The main results reveal the existence of conflict resulting from interactions between the students themselves, interactions between the students and teaching staff and interactions between the students and service and administrative staff (SAS). Central to perceptions of conflict existing within the university environment are the professional and educational interests of students, as well as issues relating to academic assessment and excessive bureaucracy.

The article explores aspects of the secondary symbolic conceptualization of the original meaning of the Indo-European root in the consciousness of native speakers. The main instrument of secondary (symbolic) conceptualization is metaphor. As an example of a symbolic interpretation of the original concept sign, we analyze the concept earth. Based on the primary meaning of the Old Russian word «bearing on itself», the macroconcept earth was transformed into symbols of fertility, the birth-giving mother, the goddess, weaving the canvas of life.

All this time, both in academic discourse and the reality of legal practice in the field tend to show a lack of attention to the rule of judges as an instrument of legal reform. Generally, the law is regarded as the main instrument of legal reform. Therefore, instilling an understanding of the law enforcement officers, especially the judges through their decision, is a very urgent thing to do. The main issue to be discussed in this paper is: How is the contribution of the Judge's decision to legal reform in Indonesia? This study used the perspective of the School of Sociological Jurisprudence, mainly the philosophical mind of Roscoe Pound. The results of this study show that the effort to make a judge's decision as a means of legal reform is a necessity. This can be realized through a progressive legal paradigm. The presence of a progressive legal paradigm is very important in order to give birth to a progressive type of judge who has a legal decision that qualifies maturity of law. The product of a progressive judge's decision is expected to become a jurisprudence that can be used as a reference in solving the next case so that judges will be able to make the law, not merely as a tool of social control as well as a tool of social engineering. These conceptions of legal function are essentially about to reveal that the nature of the law is dynamic rather than static. The legal philosophy of the sociological jurisprudence school offers a holistic understanding and a holistic view of the law, that is, the law applied must pay attention to the values, the living law, and the local wisdom of society. This holistic understanding of the law will ultimately be able to unify the law and society as its sociological basis.
