Abstract Objective – This paper presents a Library Assessment Capability Maturity Model (LACMM) that can assist library managers to improve assessment. The process of developing the LACMM is detailed to provide an evidence trail to foster confidence in its utility and value. Methods – The LACMM was developed during a series of library benchmarking activities across an international network of universities. The utility and value of the LACMM was tested by the benchmarking libraries and other practitioners; feedback from this testing was applied to improve it. Guidance was taken from a procedures model for developing maturity models that draws on design science research methodology where an iterative and reflective approach is taken.  Results – The activities decision making junctures and the LACMM as an artifact make up the results of this research. The LACMM has five levels. Each level represents a measure of the effectiveness of any assessment process or program, from ad-hoc processes to mature and continuously improving processes. At each level there are criteria and characteristics that need to be fulfilled in order to reach a particular maturity level. Corresponding to each level of maturity, four stages of the assessment cycle were identified as further elements of the LACMM template. These included (1) Objectives, (2) Methods and data collection, (3) Analysis and interpretation, and (4) Use of results. Several attempts were needed to determine the criteria for each maturity level corresponding to the stages of the assessment cycle. Three versions of the LACMM were developed to introduce managers to using it. Each version corresponded to a different kind of assessment activity: data, discussion, and comparison. A generic version was developed for those who have become more familiar with using it. Through a process of review, capability maturity levels can be identified for each stage in the assessment cycle; so too can plans to improve processes toward continuous improvement. Conclusion – The LACMM will add to the plethora of resources already available. However, it is hoped that the simplicity of the tool as a means of assessing assessment and identifying an improvement path will be its strength. It can act as a quick aide-mémoire or form the basis of a comprehensive self-review or an inter-institutional benchmarking project. It is expected that the tool will be adapted and improved upon as library managers apply it.

In many research studies on IT project development process, the authors have noticed that different frameworks are used for this purpose. In fact, many companies choose specific frameworks to run their IT projects based on project type and face dissimilar problems during the execution. In this research the authors are presenting a framework for IT project development using Capability Maturity Model. The framework has been developed to improve the IT project development in a large company because of the lower rate of successfully IT projects in that company. To develop the framework, they have used design science research and evaluated this framework with the project managers from that large company. The result of this research is a framework for IT projects development that is based on generic Capability Maturity Model and is adapted to the specific needs of an IT project development environment. Moreover, the framework identifies for each key process area of IT project development, the goals and activities to be performed.

This article examined a variant of the capability maturity model integrated (CMMi) through the lens of market engineering process improvement. The population and sample represented a national array of U.S. marketing organizations. Using ANOVA, a 0.05 significance level, and a stratification of urban marketing organizations versus rural marketing organizations, the study showed three statistically significant differences representing the second (p = 0.00; M = 2.90), fourth (p = 0.01; M = 3.22), and sixth hypotheses (p = 0.04; M = 3.15). The second hypothesis corresponded to the first maturity level (ad hoc, random processes), the fourth hypothesis corresponded to the third maturity level (characterized and expressed processes), and the sixth hypothesis corresponded to the fifth maturity level (optimized processes).

Summary This article examined a variant of the Capability Maturity Model integrated (CMMi) through the lens of advertising process improvement. The population and sample were taken from a national array of U.S. marketing organizations. Using ANOVA, a 0.05 significance level, and a stratification of service marketing organizations versus product marketing organizations, the study showed a statistically significant difference (F(1, 304) = 4.03; p = 0.04; ω2 = 0.00) regarding the hypothesis representing the notion that processes were potentially sporadic, chaotic, and ad hoc. This notion corresponded to the first maturity level of the examined process maturity framework. With respect to the Likert-scale data representing the first maturity level, the successive means analysis showed that both service marketing firms (M = 2.99) and product marketing firms (M = 2.74) reported neutrality regarding whether processes were deemed sporadic, chaotic, and ad hoc. Thus, the respondents perceived no evidence of the first maturity level among the queried work settings. Future studies may examine different stratifications of marketing firms (e.g., for-profit versus non-profit; domestic versus international; and so on) to better explore the proposed advertising maturity model.

Institusi Finansial XYZ merupakan sebuah lembaga penelaah transaksi keuangan yang memiliki tugas dan kewenangan untuk menerima laporan transaksi keuangan dari para pihak pelapor, melakukan analisis terhadap laporan transaksi keuangan, dan meneruskan hasil analisis kepada aparat penegak hukum. Insiden hilangnya data pernah terjadi di Institusi Finansial XYZ pada tahun 2018 yang mengindikasikan Data Operations Management masih belum berjalan dengan baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur Maturity Level pada Data Operations Management di Institusi Finansial XYZ dengan menggunakan Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) dan Data Management Body of Knowledge (DMBoK). Penelitian ini melakukan asesmen terhadap Maturity Level pada Data Operations Management di Institusi Finansial XYZ dan dari hasil asesmen tersebut diharapkan dapat memberikan rekomendasi untuk perbaikan Data Operations Management. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada dua belas sub-aktivitas Data Operations Management yang berada pada Maturity Level 2 dan ada tiga sub-aktivitas Data Operations Management yang berada pada Maturity Level 3. Rekomendasi diberikan untuk dua belas sub-aktivitas yang masih berada pada Maturity Level 2. Rekomendasi ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan Maturity Level pada Data Operations Management sehingga Institusi Finansial XYZ dapat menjalankan tugasnya dengan baik untuk menelaah transaksi keuangan dan menghasilkan hasil analisis yang akurat.

Aim/Purpose: This research aims to develop an information technology (IT) maturity model for incident management (IM) process that merges the most known IT frameworks’ practices. Our proposal intends to help organizations overcome the current limitations of multiframework implementation by informing organizations about frameworks’ overlap before their implementation. Background: By previously identifying frameworks’ overlaps it will assist organizations during the multi-framework implementation in order to save resources (human and/or financial). Methodology: The research methodology used is design science research (DSR). Plus, the authors applied semi-structured interviews in seven different organizations to demonstrate and evaluate the proposal. Contribution: This research adds a new and innovative artefact to the body of knowledge. Findings: The proposed maturity model is seen by the practitioners as complete and useful. Plus, this research also reinforces the frameworks’ overlap issue and concludes that some organizations are unaware of their actual IM maturity level; some organizations are unaware that they have implemented practices of other frameworks besides the one that was officially adopted. Recommendations for Practitioners: Practitioners may use this maturity model to assess their IM maturity level before multi-framework implementation. Moreover, practitioners are also incentivized to communicate further requirements to academics regarding multi-framework assessment maturity models. Recommendation for Researchers: Researchers may explore and develop multi-frameworks maturity models for the remaining processes of the main IT frameworks. Impact on Society: This research findings and outcomes are a step forward in the development of a unique overlapless maturity model covering the most known IT frameworks in the market thus helping organizations dealing with the increasing frameworks’ complexity and overlap. Future Research: Overlapless maturity models for the remaining IT framework processes should be explored.

Pengembangan produk perangkat lunak merupakan salah satu faktor penting bagi organisasi untuk menghasilkan layanan produk digital yang berdampak pada digitalisasi proses pengembangannya. Banyak organisasi sistem informasi di Indonesia menghadapi tujuan itu dan berusaha mengevaluasi proses pengembangan perangkat lunak (PPL) dibuktikan dengan pembahasan penelitian tentang topik tingkat kematangan. Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan pada salah satu organisasi perusahaan telekomunikasi Indonesia sebagai penyedia produk digital. Hal ini bertujuan untuk menilai tingkat kematangan proses PPL saat ini sebagai titik awal peningkatan proses pengembangan organisasi untuk menghasilkan kualitas produk terbaik tanpa cacat. Organisasi perlu menilai dan mengevaluasi tingkat kematangan dalam meningkatkan dan kualitas produk serta analisis kematangan dapat digunakan untuk mengungkap kelemahan proses. Hasilnya, organisasi saat ini pada maturity level 2 (ML2) atau Managed, sedangkan untuk ML3 belum terpenuhi semua process area dengan pendekatan CMMI Roadmaps sebagai langkah berikutnya untuk mencapai maturity level 3 (ML3). Beberapa rekomendasi juga diusulkan untuk meningkatkan sisa process area yang belum memenuhi specific process.

Purpose – This paper aims to present an alternative practical framework to classify the skill and knowledge of the individual trainees by comparing it with the expert in an organization. This framework gives the benefit to the organization in order to know the ability level of the personnel and to be able to provide the personnel development method both in academic learning and workplace learning. Design/methodology/approach – This research develops the framework based on relevant methodologies. Competency-Based Development is applied to investigate the knowledge and skill of the specific task. Knowledge Engineering is used to capture the experiences and construct knowledge model from relevance parties. Capability Maturity Model is then adapted to develop the capability and maturity level of the personnel. It can then be used to cluster the knowledge and skill. Finally, the Substation Maintenance Department of Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA), Thailand, is selected as a case study to test the proposed framework. Findings – The results have shown that the proposed framework can be utilized to identify the capability level of the individual personnel. Furthermore, the appropriate maturity development of the employees in each level can also be identified. This proposed framework provides better results when comparing to the current PEA competency model, as the criteria in this framework are systematically derived from experts rather than relying solely on the proficiency level. Although, this framework was tested with the switchgear maintenance task, the results and its systematic approach have indicated that it can also be used to develop the capability maturity model for other fields of work. Originality/value – The main originality of this research is the proposed competency analysis table, which integrates human resource development with knowledge management, risks management and management information system. Rather than performing these tasks separately for continuous quality improvement, organization can practically plan and perform the quality improvement-related tasks spontaneously. Moreover, the application of the capability maturity model to classify knowledge and skill of the maintenance tasks into maturity level is another academic value presented in this paper. The proposed framework gives the benefit to organization to classify the capability of the personnel. This is potentially beneficial to the human resource development personnel than traditional methods in the sense that it provides the information on how to develop the specific skill of the employees.

Cyber resilient is the ability to prepare for, respond to and recover from cyber attacks. Cyber resilient has emerged over the past few years because traditional cybersecurity measures are no longer enough to protect organizations from the spate of persistent attacks. It helps an organization protect against cyber risks, defend against and limit the severity of attacks, and ensure its continued survival despite an attack.The cyber resilient capability maturity model is a very important element within an effective in digital supply chain. The maturity model has 6 components: identify, protect, detect, respond, recover and continuity which affect the cybersecurity of the organization. To measure the maturity level needs a holistic approach. Therefore, the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) approach which allows both multi-criteria and simultaneous evaluation. Generally, the factors affecting cyber resilient in digital supply chain have non-physical structures. Therefore, the real problem can be represented in a better way by using fuzzy numbers instead of numbers to evaluate these factors. In this study, a fuzzy AHP approach is proposed to determine the cyber resilient capability maturity level in digital supply chain. The proposed method is applied in a real SMEs company. In the application, factors causing are weighted with triangular fuzzy numbers in pairwise comparisons. The result indicate that the weight factors from comparing the relationship of all factors put the importance of identify factors first, followed by protect, detect, respond, recover and continuity respectively.

Digital transformation has brought about a rapid shift towards a completely digital enterprise, generating a huge amount of data. Most small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) have data stored in different places, formats, and systems, or are unaware that it exists (Dark Data). While digital technologies are at the root of rapid data growth within and outside organizations, sharing and exchanging data between organizations presents an additional challenge. We argue that one of the barriers to the successful digital transformation of SMEs is data immaturity. The concept of data maturity has been addressed from different aspects (data quality, governance,...), in specific domains (supply chain management, manufacturing companies,...) and from the perspective of the Capability Maturity Model. However, there has been no study that has addressed a comprehensive assessment of data maturity for the SME sector as a multi-criteria problem. In this research, we propose to combine the ideas of maturity models and multicriteria decision modeling by using a design science research approach. The developed model will help SMEs assess their data maturity level and help them understand what aspects of data maturity they need to advance, what steps they need to take, and how to evaluate their progress
