Subject. Periodontitis is an inflammatory and destructive process in periodontal tissues, the main etiological factor of which, according to modern concepts, is the microbial invasion of the gingival groove by qualitatively and quantitatively modified microorganisms of cervical plaque. Based on the etiopathogenetic bacterial-vascular mechanisms of the occurrence and progression of inflammatory and destructive periodontal diseases, the use of low-energy (low-intensity) laser exposure was included in all the algorithms for the comprehensive treatment of periodontitis that we studied. Objective: to study the effect of low-intensity laser radiation in combination with local non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs on the effectiveness of complex treatment of periodontitis. Methodology. The study involved 120 patients (60 men and 60 women), equally divided into four groups depending on the treatment performed. A randomized controlled trial with discrete longitudinal open observation was conducted. The therapy included the implementation of professional oral hygiene using an ultrasound apparatus, sandblasting, polishing all surfaces of the teeth, a hygiene lesson, recommendations. The methodology of pharmacological treatment was to perform the application of the anti-inflammatory drugs Oralsept and Arkoxia to the periodontal area for 15 minutes with a course of 10 procedures. In the second and fourth groups, low-energy laser exposure was performed using the Optodan apparatus in the second mode for 15 minutes. The course of therapy was 10 procedures. The clinical study was conducted according to generally accepted principles with mandatory x-ray control and an index assessment of the periodontal condition. Results. After a six-month observation period, in the first and third groups, there was a deterioration in both index and hemodynamic digital data, and in the second and fourth indicators remained at a fairly positive level, indicating the effectiveness of the therapy. Conclusions. The use of NLV increases the effectiveness of local exposure to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs "Arkoxia" and "Oralsept" by 16 and 19 % respectively. The positive effect of NLV is maintained throughout the observation period.

90 women at the age of 30,9±0,4 years with clinical laboratory signs of herpetic defeat of urogenital system took part in research lasting 12 months. Therapy included a preparation Valaciclovir on 500 mg, complex therapy was carried out with use of intra vascular laser radiation of blood (wavelength of 365 nm, power of the radiation of 2 mW, an influence exposition the laser of 8 min, the number of sessions 15) along with application of a preparation Valaciclovir. Results of the study indicate a positive clinical dynamics and immunomodulatory action of intravascular laser irradiation of blood that can be recommended as a method of complex treatment of herpetic lesions of the reproductive system.

A clinical and immunological examination of 140 women with verified cipher B 37.3-inflammatory disease caused by yeast-like fungi of the genus Candida, characterized by the presence of 4 or more episodes during the year, is carried out. Before the start of therapy, an imbalance of cellular and humoral factors of innate immunity, the content of cytokines in the vaginal secretion, was detected. The optical radiation of a low-intensity laser was included in the scheme of therapeutic measures, starting from the first day of treatment. The results of the study demonstrate that local exposure on the vulva and vagina with laser radiation with a wavelength of 635 nm, with the power of 5 mW, for 10 minutes per area for a 10-day period reliably reduce the severity of objective and subjective symptoms of vaginal candidiasis, reduce the number of relapses, forming a long interrecurrent period, and normalizes the state of factors of local antimicrobial protection on the surface of the mucous membranes of the lower part of the urogenital system.

Over the past 25 years, laser radiation has found wide application in various fields of medicine, including neurology, mainly as a means of pain relief [17]. A high degree of specificity of the photobiological action is determined by its unique properties: monochromaticity, selective focus and coherence.

In this article the review of foreign and domestic literary sources, which are devoted to the actual problem of modern dentistry – the treatment of inflammatory diseases of periodontal tissues: gingivitis and periodontitis are presented. The complex approach to their treatment involves the appointment of a significant amount of pharmacotherapeutic drugs. Therapeutic failures and iatrogenic complications have led to the fact that today the interests of doctors and population to medicinal products significantly increased. The purpose of the study is to analyze the data of scientific literature on the use of plant-based medicinal products for the treatment of periodontal inflammatory diseases over the past 10 years. Materials and methods. Comprehensive and systematic analysis of literature. Review and discussion. The analysis of information sources on the use of plant-based medicinal products in dentistry both independently and in the composition of medical and prophylactic means has established that the modern assortment of plant-based preparations in the pharmaceutical market of Ukraine to a certain extent is limited. The emergence of new plant-based species that have been tested in conditions of experimental pathology and require an evidence-based clinical base is noted. The composition of plant-based preparations used for the treatment of inflammatory periodontal diseases include vitamins, biologically active substances, glycosides, alkaloids, in connection with a wide range of action: antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, regenerating, hemostatic, antioxidative. The data on plant-based preparations that are most often used such as chamomile extracts, calendula, hypericum, plantain, kalanchoe, aloe, eucalyptus, milfoil, nettle, calamus and plant-based species are summarized. The medicinal agents considered are mainly recommended for local treatment of periodontal diseases in the form of dental care means, mouth rinse, gel, chewing gum, herbal liquer. It is known that the complex treatment of periodontal diseases includes a general influence on the body. The properties of green tea with its wide range of actions are investigated. With antioxidant properties, it can be a healthy alternative for controlling destructive changes in periodontal diseases. Attention is drawn to the proposed unique natural complex “Resverazin” due to a wide range of pharmacological action, low toxicity and relative safety. The drug produces antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, immune stimulating, vasodilative, neuroprotective action. Conclusion. Based on the literature analysis, it can be concluded that the accumulated experimental and clinical data on the therapeutic properties of plants prove perspective of their use in the complex treatment of inflammatory periodontal diseases. Future studies are mandatory for further confirmation of the effectiveness of these medicinal plants
