Background: To determine the prevalence of indigestible foreign bodies in rumen-reticulum of cattle. Identify the types and the common diseases associated with their occurrence. 289 cattle were examined at Batna (Algeria) municipal abattoir. Methods: About 289 cattle were examined immediately after slaughtering to determine the presence or absence of the foreign bodies in their rumen-reticulum and different lesions were recorded. Result: From total of 289 cattle examined 151 (52.24%) were found positive for various types of foreign bodies in their rumen and/or reticulum. From each 56 (19.37%) and 95 (52.24%) were positive for vulnerable bodies and non-vulnerable foreign bodies respectively. The types of foreign bodies detected were: wire segments, needles, nails, hair clips, coins, corks, ropes, cloth, pebbles, sand, glass pieces, trichobezoar, plastic bags. The plastics were the most common found in 61 (23.92%) males and 34 (79.06%) females. The most common lesions in rumen of cattle with Foreign bodies were traumatic reticuloperitonitis, perirecticular abscess, esophageal obstruction, non penetrating reticulum and/or ruminal foreign bodies were respectively 3.79%, 12.65%, 1.26% and 82.27%. The study revealed that the plastics in rumen my play an important role in the pathologenesis of cattle.

<p class="apa">This study aimed to detect the common diseases among Saudi women and their relationship with the level of physical activity and some variables. This study was applied to 1233 Saudi woman in different regions of the Kingdom, and adopted to explore the common diseases: obesity, hypertension, diabetes, cholesterol and asthma.</p><p class="apa">The study results showed the existence of a statistically significant relationship between the common diseases among Saudi women and the variables of educational level, the nature of the profession, the social status, the justification of the practice of physical activity, the rate of participation in physical activity per week, the practice of physical activity in relation to asthma and the number of children with regard to obesity.</p><p class="apa">The study provided a number of recommendations including: the need to strengthen the role of culture in promoting physical activity by women, through health education via the health centers in the Kingdom.</p>

After endoscopic retrograde pancreatocholangiography, endoscopic nasobiliary drainage and removal of external drains in the postoperative period sometimes fragments of catheters remain in the common bile duct. The left foreign bodies contribute to cholangitis, pancreatitis, mechanical jaundice and concrements formation.

<p>The anebriated individual with sluggish reflexes is likely to aspirate inadverently fluids, semisolids and solids alike. Fish and chicken preparations with their sharp skeletal bones may lacerate or get entangled in the mucosa of the upper aerodigestive tract. The tonsillar fauces, pyriform fossae, post cricoid region, supraglottis, glottis, subglottis, trachea, carina and either bronchi are the common sites of impaction of sharp-edged foreign bodies. We herein present a case involving a 40-year-old patient who had aspirated a laryngotracheal foreign body (chicken bone) 3 days prior to hospital admission, which was removed by tracheostomy and suspension microlaryngoscopy.  </p>

Cervical disease is one of the common diseases, it occurs in women and has a growing tendency. In particular, cervical cancer is one of the most common diseases. The disease can be cured if it is detected early and treated under the guidance of a physician. The usual cervical examination methods are biopsies, and colposcopy. Recently, many studies have applied imaging techniques in the analysis and evaluation of cervical pathology characteristics [1-3]. In this study, we improved the traditional colposcopy with a polarized light source, and captured images with high resolution. Based on the image obtained, we developed image processing algorithms, initially analyzed and evaluated some of the common features of cervical disease

The incidence and prevalence of foreign body (FB) ingestion are difficult to estimate. Unlike other foreign bodies, the ingestion of a toothpick is very uncommon and carries high morbidity and mortality rates. We report a case of a 73-year-old female patient presenting mid-term epigastric pain. Abdominal ultrasound revealed a slightly dilated common bile duct (CBD) and magnetic resonance showed an irregular filling failure in distal CBD and gallstones. Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography revealed major papilla on the edge of a diverticulum and confirmed the distal filling failure. After sphincterotomy, a partially intact toothpick was extracted from the CBD. Neither fistulas nor perforation signs were found. Literature related to foreign bodies and toothpick ingestion was reviewed and some hypotheses to explain the reported case were created. To our knowledge, this is the first report of a toothpick lodged inside the biliary tract.

This chapter introduces computational methods for detecting complex disease loci with haplotype analysis. It argues that the haplotype analysis, which plays a major role in the study of population genetics, can be computationally modeled and systematically implemented as a means for detecting causative genes of complex diseases. In this chapter, the author provides a review of issues on haplotype analysis and proposes the analysis system which integrates a comprehensive spectrum of functions on haplotype analysis for supporting disease association studies. The explanation of the system and some real examples of the haplotype analysis will not only provide researchers with better understanding of current theory and practice of genetic association studies, but also present a computational perspective on the gene discovery research for the common diseases.

The gall bladder chapter describes conditions and diseases of the small organ of the gall bladder. The common diseases of the gall bladder are described with the more frequently presenting symptoms listed for the nurse. The occurrence rates of these pancreatic conditions are defined and any potential causes described. The investigations that are used to diagnose the condition are explored. Treatment options or preventative measures are also explored with a description of any potential complications. There are a number of conditions and diseases related to the gall bladder that include primary sclerosing cholangitis and gallstone. Inflammation of the gallbladder, cholecystitis may be acute or chronic. Succinct details related to people with diseases and conditions of the gall bladder are easy to use by the nurse within clinical practice.

This paper takes Huzhou Baimitang Bridge as an engineering example, expounds the common diseases of through pre-stressed truss arch bridge and their causes. It uses structure calculation software to optimize the reinforcement methods of components, such as arch rib, diagonal brace, tie beam, etc. The results show that pasting steel for arch rib, diagonal brace and pasting carbon fiber sheet for tie beam can effectively enhance the stiffness and the carrying capacity of Baimitang Bridge. The reinforcing methods are good for reference of other similar engineering projects.
