From school, students begin to prepare for their future profession, and after entering the university, they go through the stages of the professionalization process. The article examines the works of researchers on social and psychological factors that develop professionally significant abilities of students. The main goal of teaching competencies in the process of studying at a university is of great importance in the development of students as specialists. The relevance of the topic lies in the fact that currently most students who have graduated from a higher educational institution cannot work in their specialty or engage in a completely different profession. Psychological and social factors, i.e. the environment, influence the student's becoming a specialist along with his individual abilities. What factors influence the formation of professionally significant abilities of students within the walls of the university, we can clarify in the article.

This article is devoted to the analysis of the concepts of «methodology» in general, and «methodology in education» in particular. The analysis of the main classical methods in the field of teaching a foreign language such as «natural» and «grammatical-translation», indicate the urgent need for training and application of the student audience to achieve conscious foreign language knowledge in a non-linguistic higher educational institution of general economic profile.

The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between extrinsic and intrinsic reward on retention among Gen Y employees in Malaysian manufacturing companies. The data was collected from 113 respondents worked in manufacturing companies located in Seri Kembangan, Selangor using questionnaires. Multiple regression analysis was conducted to test the hypotheses. The results showed both extrinsic and intrinsic reward are the factors influencing retaining Gen Y in manufacturing companies. The discussion on the analysis, limitation of the study, recommendation for future research and conclusion were discussed at the end of this study. In a nutshell, it was proven extrinsic reward and intrinsic reward has contributed to the retention of Gen Y employees.
