Learning in the 2013 curriculum requires a learning process that refers to the scientific approach. The teacher becomes the centre of learning in the current educational problems, students accepting learning as an abstract does not have the opportunity to develop their thinking skills. The purpose of this study is to develop a valid, practical, and effective Educator Worksheet (LKPD). This study uses the Tessmer design method, which consists of (1) expert review; (2) one-to-one; and (3) small group. Subjects of expert opinion research included two biology education lecturers and one high school biology teacher. Individual test subjects were three students educated. The small group test subjects were six students who were educated. The type of data obtained includes data effectiveness expectations. The results obtained from the effectiveness of expectations based on students' critical thinking skills in working on LKPD have very good categories (including analysis, reference, and exploration) and have good categories (including interpretation and self-regulation). Interpersonal skills (collaborating) and intrapersonal skills (conscientious) students have very good categories with scores of interpersonal skills and intrapersonal skills 86.33%.

One of the problems of life that are happening right now is the problem in education. Three skills need to be improved including 1) the field of cognitive skills, 2) interpersonal skills, and 3) intrapersonal skills. The purpose of this study is to improve the Student Worksheet (LKPD) so that it has effective criteria. The use of LKPD in the learning process is expected to improve students' critical thinking skills. The research method used is the Tessmer design using a small group test. Critical thinking skills refer to Facione 1990 while the structure of LKPD development refers to Daryanto & Dwicahyono. The small group test subjects were six high school class XI students. This research is development research using Tessmer design. The study was conducted for one semester, namely in the 2019-2020 school year. The results showed that the effectiveness of LKPD based on the assessment of students' critical thinking skills in working on LKPD had a category of at least good, interpersonal skills had a very good category, and intrapersonal skills had a very good category.

The 2013 curriculum learning process includes three domains, namely affective (attitude), cognitive (knowledge), and psychomotor (skills). This study aims to develop a valid, practical, and effective Student Worksheet. The research method used is the Tessmer design, which consists of (1) Expert review; (2) one-to-one; (3) small group. Validation subjects were three experts, individual subjects were three students in class X in high school and small group test subjects were six students in class X in high school. The results showed that: (1) the validity of LKPD based on expert testing had a valid category with an overall average of 3.59; (2) the practicality of the contents of LKPD has a good category with an overall average of 3.70 and the practicality of the LKPD's expectations based on the responses of students has a very good category with an overall average of 88.70%; and (3) the effectiveness of LKPD based on the assessment of students' critical thinking skills in working on LKPD has both categories (including interpretation) and very good categories (includes analysis, evaluation, inference, explanation, and self-regulation). Interpersonal skills (collaborating) of students have a very good category with a score of 86.33% and intrapersonal skills (conscientious) students have a very good category with a score of 88.33%.

One of the teacher's efforts for students to play an active role in learning is to choose media that can practice the skills of conducting experiments, improve critical thinking skills so that students can develop the concept of science. This research is a development research with ADDIE development model. LKPD products are tested before being validated by media experts and material experts. The results of media validation obtained a percentage value of 98.75% with a very good category, and material validation obtained a percentage value of 90.00% with a very good category. The results of small group trials and large group trials were 93.05% and 86.25%, respectively, both included in the excellent category. Furthermore, for the perception of teachers obtained a percentage value of 97.72% with a very good category. Based on the results of the study it was concluded that the inquiry-based LKPD was guided on the subject of the classification of living thing  for Seventh grade of Yunior High School suitable for use in learning.

How can critical and analytical thinking be improved so that they mimic real-life research and prepare students for university courses? The data sets obtained in students’ experiments were used to encourage students to evaluate results, experiments, and published information critically. Examples show that students can learn to compare and defend their experimental results, thus bringing them closer to real research and critical-thinking skills.

Critical thinking skills are one of the cognitive skills that are necessary for learners in the 21st century. The government implements the 2013 curriculum to improve learners ' critical thinking skills with one of its components of teaching materials in a student's worksheet (LKPD). The problem is that the use of LKPD is still lacking in facilitating learners ' critical thinking skills. This research aims to develop the LKPD on the concept of biodiversity that is valid, practical, and effective. The research methods used are Tessmer design, which includes: expert review, one-to-one evaluation, and small group evaluation. The LKPD structure was developed referring to Daryanto & Dwicahyono and critical thinking skills referring to the Facione 1990. Subject validation includes three experts, one to one evaluation subjects are three learners of class X SMA, and a small group evaluation subject is six students of class X SMA. The results showed that the effectiveness of expectations seen from the assessment of critical thinking skills of learners in completing the LKPD belongs to a very good category.

In 21st century learning, critical thinking skills are the main choice that must be mastered by students. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of local wisdom-based science teaching materials in improving junior high school students’ critical thinking skills. Most science teachers still apply teacher-centered learning, so students tend to be passive. This type of research is quasi-experimental with a pretest-posttest control group design. The study was conducted in the even semester of the 2019/2020 school year. The subjects of the research were grade VII students. Data collection techniques and instruments in the form of tests that include indicators of critical thinking skills. Data analysis used homogeneity test, Kolmogorov Smirnov normality test, independent sample t-test, and n-gain score. The results of the independent sample t-test are sig. (2-tailed) = 0,000<sig. α = 0.05. Students’ critical thinking skills in the experimental class were higher (N-gain score = 39.09%) than in the control class (N-gain score = 12.03%). Based on the study results, it can be concluded that there is a significant influence on the application of local wisdom-based teaching materials in improving the critical thinking skills of middle school students in the moderate category.
