Modern society pays considerable attention to the intellectual development of children. Emotional and value development of preschool children for many years remained out of the attention of the educational department, parents. The new state standard of preschool education has initiated positive changes in this direction, but the problem of the uniqueness of the formation of value orientations of older preschool children is little studied, which increases the urgency of the problem. The aim of the article is to reveal the structure of the phenomenon of value orientations of older preschool children, its features in the light of educational reformation processes. The article highlights the components of the phenomenon of value orientations of older preschool children: emotional, semantic, and activity. It highlights the components that correspond to these components: emotional-volitional, cognitive, and activity. The criteria of each component are defined: emotional-volitional – sensory-oriented criterion, cognitive – knowledge-oriented, activity - operational. These criteria are met by indicators of the formation of value orientations of older preschool children. Indicators of understanding the emotions, the expression  of compassion, the ability to control emotions correspond to the sensory-oriented criterion; knowledge-oriented criterion includes the presence of knowledge about the values of interaction, empathy and friendship, the content and rules of mobile games, the rules of conduct in the game; operational criterion is responsible for the ability to express  emotions and respond to the emotions of others, follow the rules of the game, take responsibility, initiate and establish interaction between all participants in the game. The research work was carried out using the methods of analysis, synthesis, induction, deduction, comparison, systematization, scientific generalization, dialectical method of cognition. As a result of the study we provide three-stage integral of the phenomenon of value orientations of preschool children with selected components, components, indicators and methods.

Abstract Conceptual discourse and practice of religious education is considered effective as a means of internalizing character values as early as possible for the provision of children's lives in the future. This study describes the implementation of religious education in instilling character values in early childhood by using a survey method in 624 early childhood education in 33 provinces in Indonesia. The results of this study indicate that the majority of early childhood education leaders implement religious education policies in the institutions they lead with a calculated value of (93.37%). Then the implementation of religious education strengthens cognitive knowledge through material content about God by (99.84%), Prophets by (100%), holy books by (100%), houses of worship by (100%), and material content about morals by (100%) 100%). While the affective aspect of religious education includes material content about value planting (100%), planting the value of helping to help (99.84%). While the material that leads to the psychomotor aspect includes material about mutual respect (99.52%), and material about politeness (99.84%). The narrative of the survey results shows that religious education at the early childhood education level has been carried out in accordance with early childhood education standards, namely placing religious education as a means of internalizing character values through material content that strengthens the cognitive, affective and psychomotor abilities of early childhood. Kemudian implementasi pendidikan agama cenderung memperkuat aspek kognitif melalui konten materi tentang Tuhan sebesar (99,84%), Nabi sebesar (100%), kitab suci sebesar (100%), rumah ibadah sebesar (100%), dan konten materi tentang akhlak sebesar (100%).

Abstract Traditional corpus-based methods rely on manual inspection and extraction of lexical collocates in the study of selection preferences, which is a very costly, labor-intensive, and time-consuming task. Devising automatic methods for lexical collocate extraction becomes necessary to handle this task and the immensity of corpora available. With a view to leveraging the Sketch Engine platform and in-built corpora, we propose a working prototype of a Lexical Collocate Extractor (LeCoExt) command-line tool that mines lexical collocates from all types of verbs according to their syntactic constituents and Collocate Frequency Score (CFS). This might be the first tool that performs comprehensive corpus-based studies of the selection preferences of individual or groups of verbs exploiting the capabilities offered by Sketch Engine. This tool might facilitate the task of extracting rich lexico-semantic knowledge from diverse corpora in a few seconds and at a click away. We test its performance for ontology building and refinement departing from a previous detailed analysis of stealing verbs carried out by Fernández-Martínez & Faber (2020). We show how the proposed tool is used to extract conceptual-cognitive knowledge from the THEFT scenario and implement it into FunGramKB Core Ontology through the creation and modification of theft-related conceptual units.

Two decades have passed since the September 11 attacks by Islamist militants that shocked the world. Despite this, Islamophobia remains a common phenomenon. In Taiwan, the 2014 12-year Basic Education Curriculum amendments emphasize cultural and global understanding as core competencies. With more than 6 years of implementation, it would be therefore interesting to learn what elementary school students think of Islam. Anchoring on the concepts of intercultural competency development, stereotypes are said to be related to cognitive knowledge, intercultural behavioral abilities, and attitudes. A survey instrument was developed and validated to collect information on stereotypes, skills in intercultural interaction, and attitudes toward Islam. Additionally, cognitive knowledge of Islam was also tested. A total of 712 students participated in the study. Structural equation modelling was used to test the mediating role of cognitive knowledge and intercultural behavioral skills within the relationship between cultural stereotypes and intercultural affects. Findings show that behavioral skills alone are not enough to diminish the negative aspects of stereotypes. Importantly, it is only with the help of cognitive knowledge that the relationship between stereotypes and intercultural affects are improved. It is hoped that by understanding the importance of proper curriculum content, more sustainable coexistence can be established.

The cognitive ability helps people understand the world and orient themselves with the general perspective they have in their minds. Young learners who are always in a quest for knowledge are busy awaiting to acquire new life experiences. It can happen throughout the entire span of life. Reading books that will educate their minds can be helping them unconsciously enhance their intellect. Here unintentionally, plays can be considered rendering enlightenment by entertaining them and enriching their minds. Comic relief in the farcical plays tells that life is loaded with possibilities. Hence, one could expect the unexpected. Focus is made on the comedies, which can be sarcastic or mocking but incur lessons. Oscar Wilde's saying, "If you want to tell the truth, make them laugh, otherwise they'll kill you", is the concept behind the study. Shakespeare is appreciated here as a writer for all ages and also for generations to come. Experience gained through perspectives with which a literary text can be approached is dealt with in the analysis. This proves that literature can enhance the necessary cognitive knowledge in young learners irrespective of their age and understanding capability. Further, the enormous contribution of literature as text in giving knowledge about life and purpose is also discussed.

The Covid-19 pandemic has significant socio-economic impacts for all regions in Indonesia, one of which is in Bantul Regency. In anticipation of this impact, Mayungan Hamlet government officials and the community service team made several programs related to the development of grape cultivation in their home yard. With this activity, it is hoped that the community will be able to improve the family economy which was originally declining. The series of activities carried out were mapping of village potentials, outreach, practice, mentoring, and technical guidance. This activity was chosen in order to make it easier for the community to accept new technology with the formulation of planting media made from compost and coconut shell biochar. The obstacle faced during the service was that all activities were carried out during a pandemic where there were restrictions on community activities so that not all participated in this activity. However, all activities were successfully carried out, as evidenced by the 14 invited community representatives, all of whom were present in every activity and there was an increase in community (cognitive) knowledge about grape cultivation.

Background: Community health workers (CHWs) hold potential to support universal health coverage and better health for vulnerable communities. They are integral to the re-engineered Primary Health Care (PHC) strategy, introduced in South Africa in 2011. This study focussed on how to train CHWs in large numbers, especially in resource-limited, rural settings. Skills2Care, a method of cooperative learning for CHWS, has been pioneered in the Eastern Cape of South Africa.Aim: To determine whether Skills2Care could improve the cognitive knowledge of CHWs; to understand their response and attitude to the programme; to explore factors that enabled and inhibited learning and to consider its viability as a training method.Setting: Research was conducted in 2019 in the Ngqeleni subdistrict of the O.R. Tambo district, in rural Eastern Cape. Methods: A group-learning model using specifically tailored study modules in booklet format, addressing mother and baby care, was used. A facilitator promoted learning. Knowledge assessment was conducted by pre- and post-study testing using multiple choice questions. Focus group discussions and interviews explored the appropriateness and acceptability of this method, and factors enabling and inhibiting the learning. Results: This method of peer group cooperative learning can significantly increase the cognitive knowledge of CHWs. Test scores indicated a significant (13%) improvement. Focus group discussions indicated that participants valued this method as it increased knowledge and boosted their confidence. Conclusion: This innovative approach to district-based, continuing education suggests that CHWs could be trained in large numbers without the need for additional resources.
