<p><em>This study aims to improve critical thinking skills through the application of a Problem Based Learning based. This research is a classroom action research conducted in two cycles with planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. Data collection instruments use question instruments, observation sheets, documentation, and field notes. The subject of the study was the fourth grade students of SDN 1 Muryolobo. The results showed an increase in critical thinking skills as indicated by the data in the pre cycle of 42%, in the first cycle increased by 67,23%, and in the second cycle increased by 80,72%. Increasing critical thinking skills also affects the students learning outcomes. This is indicated by the learning outcomes on Indonesian language in pre cycle, cycle I, and cycle II, are 45%, 68%, and 81%. Furthermore, the learning outcomes of IPS in pre cycle, cycle I, and cycle II are 36%, 63%, and 81%.</em></p>

Pelaksanaan penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk mengetahui apakah dalam mengaplikasikan model Problem Based Learning dapat meningkatkan keaktifan dan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Subjek penelitian yang digunakan ialah siswa kelas IV SD Negeri 2 Bojong yang memiliki jumlah 23 siswa, terdiri dari 15 siswa laki-laki dan sisanya perempuan berjumlah 8 siswa. Jenis penelitian yang dipakai ialah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas jenis Classroom Research dengan menggunakan model Kemmis & McTaggart. Pelaksanaan tindakan kelas ini diterapkan sejumlah 2 siklus, yaitu pra siklus, siklus I, dan siklus II. Per-siklus terdiri dari 4 tahap, yakni perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Penelitian dilakukan pada semester II tahun ajaran 2020/2021. Pelaksanaan teknik penghimpunan data menggunakan tes dan non tes, sedangkan instrumen penelitian memakai soal uraian, lembar observasi, dan rubrik. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan oleh peneliti yakni teknik deskriptif komparatif. Hasil penelitian pada kondisi mula-mula atau pra siklus, keaktifan yang dicapai siswa terhitung 37,93%. Siklus I terhitung 60,82% dan pada siklus II mengalami kenaikan menjadi sebanyak 76,02%. Sedangkan saat siklus I, KKM yang dicapai atau siswa yang sudah memenuhi syarat berpikir kritis diakumulasikan dengan rata-rata sejumlah 63,78 dan pada siklus II siswa yang telah berpikir kritis meningkat dengan rata-rata 82,30. Oleh sebab itu, dapat dicapai kesimpulan bahwa keaktifan dan keterampilan berpikir kritis bisa ditingkatkan dengan cara menerapkan model Problem Based Learning.

The results of observations of class VIII SMP Negeri 22 Malang shows, students have low of the critical thinking skills and learning outcomes. Students tend to be passive and less critical. Effort to improve the quality of learning is by applying the Problem Based Learning (PBL). This research was conducted with the aim of improving students' critical thinking skills and student learning outcomes IPA in class VIII SMP Negeri 22 Malang through the implementation of PBL. This type of research is a Class Action Research (PTK) is a qualitative research. This research data in the form of critical thinking skills, student’s learning, and enforceability of learning by using PBL. Collection technique that is a matter of cognitive tests, tests about critical thinking skills, field notes and documentation conducted by the observer. Based on exposure and research findings, obtained two conclusions. First, the critical thinking skills of students in the second cycle increases than I. Mean thinking skills of first cycle is 1.50 were classified as less critical with a percentage of 23 percent, while in the second cycle mean of critical thinking skills 2.36 is classified as critical percentage of 76 percent . From these data indicate that the critical thinking skills increased by 53 percent. Second, in classical mastery learning outcomes of students has increased from the first cycle to the second cycle. The results of classical learning in the first cycle of 67.6 percent, while in the second cycle by 80 percent. This shows an increase in cycle I and II of 30.3 percent. Hasil observasi pada siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 22 Malang menunjukkan, keterampilan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar rendah. Siswa cenderung pasif dan kurang kritis. Salah satu usaha meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran adalah dengan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL).Tujuan penelitian ini meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa dan hasil belajar siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 22 Malang dengan model pembelajaran PBL. Jenis penelitian adalah Penelitian Tindak Kelas (PTK) merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Data keterampilan berpikir kritis, hasil belajar siswa, dan keterlaksanaan pembelajaran dengan model pembelajaran PBL. Teknik pengumpulan yaitu soal tes kognitif, soal tes keterampilan berpikir kritis, catatan lapangan dan dokumentasi oleh observer. Berdasarkan paparan dan temuan penelitian, diperoleh dua simpulan. Pertama, keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa pada siklus II mengalami kenaikan dibanding siklus I. Rerata keterampilan berpikir siklus 1 sebesar 1,50 yang tergolong kurang kritis dengan persentase sebesar 23 persen sedangkan pada siklus II rerata keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa sebesar 2,36 yang tergolong kritis dengan persentase sebesar 76 persen. Dari data tersebut menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan berpikir kritis meningkat sebesar 53 persen. Kedua, secara klasikal ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan dari siklus I ke siklus II. Hasil belajar klasikal pada siklus I sebesar 67,6 persen sedangkan pada siklus II sebesar 80 persen. Hal ini menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan pada siklus I dan II sebesar 30,3 persen.

This study aims to: 1) describe the improvement of student learning outcomes in learning physics class XI IPA2 SMA Negeri 1 Loghia which is taught by using a problem-based learning model assisted by pictorial riddle on the subject matter of elasticity and hooke law. 2) describe the improvement of students' critical thinking skills in physics learning class XI IPA2 SMA Negeri 1 Loghia on the subject matter of elasticity and hooke law taught by using problem-based learning models assisted by pictorial riddle 3) describe the completeness of students learning in physics learning class XI IPA2 Loghia State High School 1, which is taught by using a pictorial riddle-based problem-based learning model on the subject of elasticity and hooke law. The data analysis was performed by descriptive statistics. From the analysis of the data obtained the average of cognitive learning outcomes of students in the first cycle is 74.71. The average critical thinking skills in the first cycle are indicators giving 38.79 simple explanations, building basic skills 28.45, concluding 38.79, making further explanation 31.90 and indicators of strategy and tactics 50.86. As for the percentage of mastery learning classically in the first cycle of 65.52%. In the second cycle obtained the average of cognitive learning outcomes of 79.83. The average critical thinking skills in the second cycle of the indicators provide a simple explanation of 57.76, building basic skills 84.48, concluding 93.10, making further explanation 74.13 and indicators of strategy and tactics 88.79. While the percentage of mastery learning classical students in the first cycle amounted to 79.31%. Based on the results of the research and discussion it can be concluded that the application of problem based learning model assisted by pictorial riddle can improve cognitive learning outcomes and critical thinking skills.

This study aims to improve students' critical thinking skills in Civics in 5th grade students of SD Muhammadiyah Kauman, Yogyakarta using Problem Based Learning model. This research is a Classroom Action Research (PTK). The subjects of the study were 5th grade students of B1 SD Muhammadiyah Kauman. The object of research is the whole process and the results of learning Civics with the application of Problem Based Learning model. This research was conducted at SD Muhammadiyah Pakel Yogyakarta in April until May 2017. Data collection techniques used were observation, diary, interview and test. Data analysis technique is done descriptively qualitative. This research was conducted in 2 cycles by applying problem based learning model. The learning steps that were implemented were changes in the delivery of the subject matter, the students analyzed the problem, the formation of the discussion group with the grouping of students based on their achievement, the students in group for discussion, the group members delivered the discussion result in front of the class.The results showed that the critical thinking ability of the 5th grade students of B1 SD Muhammadiyah Kauman, Yogyakarta increased after the use of Problem Based Learning model in Civics learning with the subject matter of the example of central and regional legislation. This improvement is evident in the improvement of students' critical thinking skill test result from 12.90% pretreatment score to 51.61% (enough) in cycle I and increased to 70.96% (good) in cycle II. The results of activity observations related to students' critical thinking skills are increased among others: active students in learning, students more freely in finding and collecting desired information, and students also have more opportunities to learn with friends.
