Tax avoidance is done by looking for the weeknesses in the lawsand regulations. This action occurs none other than caused by corporate governance. The purpose of this research is to determine the relationship between good corporate governance and tax avoidance. Good corporate governance is proxied by board gender diversity, institutional ownership, audit committee and independence commissioners. The sample used in this research contains annual reports taken from 111 companies listed in Indonesian Stock Exchange in 2016-2020. The data that has been collected is then processed using a data panel regression analysis system. The result shows there is a significant negative relation between audit committee and tax avoidance. Board gender diversity, institutional ownership and independent commissioners are negatively affect tax avoidance but not statistically significant. In addition, the control variables in the form of leverage and firm size are proven to have a significant negative and positive effect towards tax avoidance. Meanwhile, ROA is not proven to have a significant influence on tax avoidance. The recommendation from this research is that the next researcher should add the number of sample data and variables outside of this study in order to get better research results.

The objective of this research was to prove empirically the factors affecting the good corporate governance and the return on assets onthe tax avoidance of the manufacturing companies indexed in the Indonesia Stock Exchange in the period of 2014-2016. The independent variables of this research werethe institutional ownership, the managerial ownership, the proportion of independent board of Commissioners, the audit committee, the audit quality, the return on assets; while, the dependent variable of this research wasthe tax avoidance. The data collectingtechnique used in this research was the purposive sampling. The number of sample used in this research was 57 manufacturing companies indexed in the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2014-2016. The data analysis technique used in this research was the multiple linear regressionby using IBM SPSS Version 20 program. The result of this research showed that the managerial ownership, the audit quality, and the return on assets affected the tax avoidance; while, the institutional ownership, the proportion of independent board of commissioners, and theaudit committee did not have any effect on the tax avoidance

This study aims to examine the effect of good corporate governance on corporate social responsibility. The Data that used in this research are all form of annual reports published by companies on the Indonesia Stock Exchange website. The population used is transportation sub Sector Company listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the period 2014-2018 which amounted to 37 companies. Purposive sampling is used in this research to obtain 8 companies as research sample. The data were analyzed using multiple regression analysis using SPSS Version 25. The results of the research showed audit committee negatively influence on the corporate social responsibility, the board of commissioners has no influence on the corporate social responsibility, the institutional ownership negatively affected on the corporate social responsibility, and the independent commissioner no impact on the corporate social responsibility.

Efforts to minimize tax payments from nominal should be legally called tax avoidance. This study aims to examine the effect of financial distress and good corporate governance on tax avoidance that is proxied by the cash effective tax rate (CETR). This research was conducted in the consumer goods sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2013-2017. Determination of the number of samples using purposive sampling method and obtained a sample of 105 samples. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis. Based on the results of the analysis found financial distress has a negative effect on tax avoidance, institutional ownership has a positive effect on tax avoidance, independent commissioners have a positive effect on tax avoidance, and audit committees have a positive effect on tax avoidance. This study aimed to examine the effect of good corporate Governance against tax avoidance peroxided by the book tax gap and corporate governance is peroxided by institutional ownership, managerial ownership, independent board, audit committee and audit quality. This study was performed on companies listed on the Stock Exchange on the observation period 2011-2014. The method used is purposive sampling and obtained a sample of 10 companies. The data used is secondary data that can be downloaded through www.idx.co.id and www.sahamok.com.  The results showed that the variables of the board of managerial ownership, independent directors, audit committee, and audit quality effect on tax avoidance while institutional ownership variable has no effect on tax avoidance. It is suspected that institutional ownership as a monitoring tool in any decision taken by the manager does not support an optimal oversight of management performance related to tax evasion.DOI: 10.15408/etk.v15i2.3541

ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to examine the effect of profitability and good corporate governance toward tax avoidance. Good corporate governance was proxied by institutional ownership, an independent board of commissioners, an audit committee, and audit quality toward tax avoidance. The population in this study were mining companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in the 2014-2018 period with amount 47 companies. Samples were selected using the purposive sampling method. The total sample used in this study are 9 mining companies with a study period of 5 years, so that the samples obtained were 45 samples. The analytical method used in this study is multiple linear regression analysis. The results of this study indicate that profitability have a significant effect toward tax avoidance, while the institutional ownership, independent board of commissioners, audit committee, and audit quality are unable to establish the influence toward tax avoidance.

The purpose of this study is to analyze how much influence the board of commissioners, audit committee, institutional ownership, company size and leverage on tax avoidance on food and beverage sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The factors tested in this study are tax avoidance as the dependent variable while the size of the board of commissioners, audit committee, institutional ownership, firm size and leverage as independent variables. The sample of this study consisted of 15 food and beverage sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) and submitted financial statements consistently in the period 2012-2015. The data used in this study is secondary data and the selection of samples using purposive sampling method. The analytical tool used is multiple regression analysis to examine the effect of the size of the board of commissioners, audit committee, institutional ownership, company size and leverage on tax avoidance. This study aims to examine the effect of Good Corporate Governance on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The population used is the transportation sub-sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange period 2014 - 2018, amounting to 37 companies. Purposive sampling was used to obtain 8 companies as research samples. Data used in the form of annual reports published by the companies, and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results indicate that simultaneously, Audit Committee, the Board of Commissioners, Institutional Ownership and Independent Commissioners prove to have a significant effect on CSR. However, the results of statistical tests prove that partially, the Audit Committee and Institutional Ownership have a significant negative effect on CSR; The Board of Commissioners has positive and significant influence on CSR; and Independent Commissioners have a negative but not significant effect on CSR.

Tax avoidance measured by Earning Tax Rate (ETR) is considered to be able to describe the real activities of tax avoidance carried out by the company. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of Corporation Risk and Good Corporate Governance on Tax Avoidance with Institutional Ownership as a Moderating Variable. This study uses a sample of non-banking and financial companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the period of 2014-2016. The analysis in this study uses the common effect method. The results of this study indicate that corporate risk does not significantly influence tax avoidance, but with institutional ownership as a moderating variable, corporate risk has a significant effect on corporate tax avoidance. Corporate governance as measured by institutional ownership, board of commissioners and audit quality has a significant effect on tax company avoidance.Tax avoidance yang diukur berdasarkan Earning Tax Rate (ETR) dianggap mampu menggambarkan aktivitas nyata dari tax avoidance yang dilakukan oleh perusahaan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh Corporation Risk dan Good Corporate Governance Terhadap Tax Avoidance dengan  Kepemilikan Institusional  Sebagai Variable pemoderasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan sampel perusahaan non perbankan dan keuangan yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia periode 2014 – 2016. Analisis dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode common effect.  Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa corporate risk tidak berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap tax avoidance, namun dengan kepemilikan institusional sebagai variabel pemoderasi, corporate risk berpengaruh signifikan terhadap tax avoidance perusahaan.Corporate governance yang diukur dengan kepemilikan institusional, dewan komisaris dan kualitas audit berpengaruh signifikan terhadap tax avoidance perusahaan.

This study aims to analyze the effect of the effectiveness of internal control, independent commissioners, the expertise of the board of commissioners, the number of audit committees, and the expertise of the audit committee on tax avoidance in manufacturing companies listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange period 2016-2018. This research is expected to be a material consideration for companies in making decisions related to taxation. The deductive approach used in this study by developing hypotheses based on relevant theories and findings of previous studies. Agency theory is used to see the effect of corporate governance on tax avoidance. The data collection method uses secondary data from the company's financial statements and annual reports according to specific criteria. Data analysis was performed by descriptive statistics and multiple linear regression. The results of the regression analysis prove that effectiveness of internal control and number of audit committees had a positive effect which means higher effectiveness of internal control and number of audit committees cause more tax avoidance, conversely independent commissioners and expertise of the board of commissioners had a negative effect which shows greater independent commissioners and expertise of the board of commissioners cause less tax avoidance. Another result claim that the expertise of the audit committee did not affect on tax avoidance. In contrast to previous studies, this study is more varied by combining several independent variables. This study aims to examine the effect of profitability and good corporate governance on earnings quality in food and beverage companies listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) 2015-2018 period. Profitability is calculated using Return on Assets (ROA). The proxy of Good Corporate Governance are institutional ownership, managerial ownership, audit committee, and independent commissioner. The dependent variable in this study is earnings quality measured by discretionary accrual using Modified Jones Model to detect earning management. This study used secondary data from the official website of Indonesian Stock Exchange (www.idx.co.id) and the sampling method in this study uses purposive sampling method. The data analysis in this study using multiple linear regression analysis. The results of this study indicate that profitability and audit committee have a positive effect on earnings quality, while the independent commissioner has a negative effect on earnings quality. Other independent variables i.e. institutional ownership and managerial ownership have no significant effect on earnings quality
