Effect of organic (biogrcen) and inorganic fetilizers (ammonium sulphate and SP36) on the yield and quality of the temanggung tobacco in andosol soil was studied at Galapansari - Temanggung, from Februai to December 2001. The organic and inorganic fetilizers were formulated in 10 packages, namely : (1) 570 kg ammonium sulphate (AS) ♦ 100 kg SP36; (2) the recommended rate for temanggung tobacco (20 000 kg stable manure 500 kg AS + 100 kg SP36; (3) 5 000 kg organic fetilizer (OF); (4) 7 500 kg OF; (5) 8 500 kg OF; (6) 10 000 kg OF; (7) 12 500 kg OF; (8) 14 500 kg OF; (9) 7 500 kg OF + 3 500 kg sUble manure (SM); (10) 7 500 kg OF + 4 500 kg SM. All the rates of fetilizers were based on one hectare planted area (16 500 plants) The expeiment was designed as a randomized block in four replicates. Results showed that organic fertilizer waa more effective than stable manure in improving die growth, yield and quality of temanggung tobacco. A the rate of 5 000 kg was sufficient to produce high ( 6 313 kg fresh or 800 kg sliced died leaves), grade index (51.68) and crop index (55.31). Key words : Organic fetilizer, ammonium sulfate, SP36, temanggung tobacco, andisol

A field experiment was conducted at Bidi Tobacco Research Station, Anand Agricultural University, Anand for four years from 2014-15 to 2017-18 with the objective to study the effect of organic and inorganic sources of fertilizers on growth, yield and quality of bidi tobacco variety GABT 11. Results revealed that different manures and fertilizers failed to exert their significant effect on yield of bidi tobacco variety GABT 11 during all four years and in its pooled. Green manuring every year with sunnhemp recorded significantly maximum leaf size viz. leaf length and width followed by application of FYM @ 12.5 t/ha every year. Besides, Application of 180 kg N/ha through ammonium sulphate gave significantly higher tobacco plant height over application of 180 kg N/ha through castor cake and application of 135 kg N/ha through ammonium sulphate + 90 kg P2O5/ha through single super phosphate + 135 kg K2O/ha through sulphate of potash. Maximum monetary returns with benefit: cost ratio of 2.68 accrued with treatment of 180 kg N/ha through Ammonium sulphate. Among different bulky manures, green manuring with sunnhemp every year gave maximum gross income and net income with BCR value 2.43.

Tobacco Generally farmers in Lombok apply single fertilizer of ZA or Urea (as a source of N), and SP36 (as source of P), without combining with K and Mg fertilizers. The fertilizers are added more than twice with unappropriates doses. Application of compound fertilizer might increase growth, yield and quality of Virginia fc tobacco at Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara Province, because the fertilizer consists of NPK macro nutrients which have important role for tobacco. The experiment was carried out at Kopang Rembiga village, Kopang District in 2014. The objective to was identify the effect of NPKMg compound fertilizer on growth, yield and quality of Virginia tobacco. Split Plot Design with three replicates was used to arrange treatments. Three varieties of Virginia tobacco (Coker 176, Coker 319 and NC 297) were set as main plots, and three rates of NPKMg fertilizer (60, 80 and 100 kg N/ha) were arranged as sub plots. Results showed that increasing of NPKMg fertilizer up to 100 kg N/ha increased growth, yield and quality of three varieties of Virginia tobacco. Addition of 100 kg N/ha NPKMg (100 kg N+ 60 kg P2O5 + 133 kg K2O + 13.34 kg MgO per hectare) gave the highest values of grade index and crop index of three varieties, thus the fertilizer could be recommended for Virginia tobacco in Lombok.

SUMMARYIn this investigation the largest amount of nitrogen used, 44 kg per hectare, increased leaf size, yield and amount of nicotine in the leaf. The three carriers of N had similar effects on growth and yield at each amount applied but calcium ammonium nitrate produced tobacco inferior in quality to that with ammonium sulphate and urea. Increasing topping height from 8 to 10 and to 12 leaves increased the total leaf area per plant and yields, delayed maturity and lowered the quality of the tobacco. The greatest yield was produced by using 44 kg of N and topping at 12 leaves, but the best quality resulted from using 44 kg of N and topping at 8 leaves.

This study aims to improve the growth, yield, and quality of LP-VoS bulbs by applying bokashi fertilizer from goat manure and regulating the duration of water supply with a sprinkler irrigation system. This research is a field that arranged in split-plot design. The main plot is the duration of irrigation water supply, consisting of three levels, 0.5; 1,0; and 1.5 hours. The subplot is giving organic fertilizer bokashi goat manure, which consists of two kinds, namely: without bokashi fertilizer and the addition of bokashi fertilizer 15 t.ha-1. Each treatment was repeated three times so that in total, there were 18 experimental plot units. The results showed that the duration of irrigation 0.5 hours at intervals of 3 days, followed by the application of 15 t.ha-1 bokashi organic fertilizer could increase the bulb circle of 'Lembah Palu' varieties. The use of bokashi organic fertilizer 15 t.ha-1 could increase soil moisture so it can growth, yields, and quality of shallot bulb. The duration of irrigation with a sprinkler system for 0.5-1.0 hours at intervals of 3 days could result in the growth of total dry weight and total leaf area per plant as well as the number of tubers per clump, fresh weight of tubers per clump and yield of tubers per hectare higher than treatment of water for 1.5 hours at intervals of 3 days. Water supply regulations and the use of bokashi organic fertilizers can increase the growth, yield, and quality of LP-VoS bulbs on dryland. For the cultivation of‘Lembah Palu’ varieties of shallots in dry land, it is necessary to apply organic fertilizers to increase the soil water content for increased production and quality.
