The aim of this paper is to determine the optimal input parameters for the process in order to ensure the maximum formable wall angle is obtained in a conical frustum with a varying wall angle fabricated using Single Point Incremental Forming (SPIF). The test material was 0.8-mm-thick Ti-6Al-4V titanium alloy sheets, and the test used a tungsten carbide tool with a rounded tip with a radius of 4 mm. Complete workpieces were heated using hot oil with a temperature of about 200 °C, and in addition, the high rotation speed of the forming tool generated an amount of friction heat. The input parameters were tool rotational speed, feed rate, step size, and tool rotation direction. Various oil pressures were used to improve both the accuracy of the components formed and the friction heating process. On the basis of calculations performed by means of the response surface methodology, split-plot I-optimal design responses were obtained by means of polynomial regression models. Models were fitted using REstricted Maximum Likelihood (REML), and p-values are derived using the Kenward–Roger approximation. Observation of the fracture surface of Ti-6Al-4V drawpieces showed that the destruction is as a result of ductile fracture mode. Tool rotational speed and step size are the most significant factors that affect the axial force, followed by feed rate. It was also found that step size is the most significant factor that affects the in-plane SPIF force.

Pepaya Merah Delima berpotensi untuk dibudidayakan di lahan rawa lebak. Permasalahan lahan rawa lebak yaitu pH rendah dan ketersediaan hara dalam tanah rendah sehingga perlu diberikan pengapuran dan pemupukan tambahan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan dosis kapur, pupuk P dan K terbaik untuk meningkatkan produktivitas dan kualitas pepaya Merah Delima. Penelitian dilakukan di lahan rawa lebak TTP Siak, Kecamatan Sai Mandau (BPTP Riau) dari bulan Januari 2018 sampai Desember 2019. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Petak Terbagi dengan petak utama yaitu dua taraf dosis kapur (6 dan 9 t ha-1) dan anak petak kombinasi dari tiga taraf dosis pupuk P2O5 (100, 200, 300 g tan-1) dan tiga taraf dosis pupuk K2O (150, 300, 450 g tan-1), setiap perlakuan terdapat tiga ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pemberian kapur dosis 6 t ha-1 dan kombinasi P dan K dosis 300 g tan-1+ 300 g tan-1 berturut-turut, dapat meningkatkan produksi pepaya Merah Delima sampai 51% dengan rata-rata produksi 98,00 kg tan-1, jumlah buah rata-rata 95,45 tan-1, bobot buah 1.031,30 g buah-1, PTT 11,81 oBrix, dan kekerasan buah 55,08 kg cm-2. Pemberian kapur dan tambahan pupuk P dan K efektif untuk memperbaiki sifat lahan rawa lebak sehingga dapat meningkatkan hasil tanaman pepaya Merah Delima. Papaya CV. Merah Delima is potential to be cultivated on tidal swampland. The problems of tidal swampland are low degree of pH and low nutrient availability in the soil, thus it needs additional liming and fertilization. This study aimed to obtain the best dose of lime, also phosphorus and potassium fertilizers to increase the productivity and quality of papaya cv. Merah Delima. The study was conducted at TTP Siak, Sai Mandau district (BPTP Riau) from January 2018 to December 2019. The study used a Split Plot Design with the main plot was two doses of lime (6 and 9 t ha-1) and the subplot was combination of three doses of P2O5 fertilizer (100, 200, 300 g plant-1) and three levels of K2O fertilizer (150, 300, 450 g plant-1), with three replications. The results showed the application of lime at dose of 6 t ha-1 combined by P and  K fertilizer of 300 g plant-1 + 300 g plant-1, respectively, could increase papaya production up to 51%, whereas average production 98.00 kg plant-1, average number of fruits 95.45 plant-1, fruit weight 1,031.30 g fruit-1, TSS 11.81 °Brix, and fruit hardness of 55.08 kg cm-2. Application of lime and additional fertilizer into the tidal swampland are effective to improve its characteristics and able to increase the papaya Merah Delima production.

This study investigated the effects of a brief video intervention on attitudes toward counseling services. Two hundred and seventy-seven participants were divided into four groups (anxious-preoccupied, dismissive-avoidant, fearful-avoidant, and secure) by their attachment scores. Then, the participants of each group were randomly assigned to three conditions (stigma-reducing, utility-enhancing, and control). A split-plot factorial design was performed to examine the intervention effects. The results indicate that the stigma-reducing video intervention was more effective for the anxious-preoccupied group, whereas the utility-enhancing video intervention was more effective for the dismissive-avoidant group than other groups. These results suggest the importance of implementing strategies tailored to each attachment group.

<p><strong>(<em>The Effect of Explant Types and Amino Acids on Embryogenic Callus Initiation and Proliferation of Phalaenopsis Var. ‘Raiza Agrihorti’</em>)</strong></p><p>Penyiapan kalus embriogenik (KE) yang optimal memiliki peranan penting dalam menghasilkan benih bermutu Phalaenopsis skala komersial. Kendala utama yang dihadapi ialah inisiasi dan proliferasi KE yang masih rendah, serta akumulasi fenolik yang tinggi. Penelitian dilakukan di Laboratorium Kultur Jaringan Balithi dari Agustus 2019 hingga Juli 2020. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) pola split plot dan faktorial dengan lima ulangan. Percobaan-1: jenis eksplan (pucuk, pangkal, dan daun plantlet) sebagai petak utama dan perlakuan asam amino (tanpa asam amino, L-Proline, L-Glutamine, L-Cysteine, dan Casein-Hydrolisate) dengan konsentrasi 150 mg/l pada medium PC1 (1/2 MS + 1,0 mg/l TDZ + 0,5 mg/l BAP + 20 g/l sukrosa) sebagai anak petak. Percobaan-2: faktor-1 ialah jenis asam amino (L-Proline, L-Cysteine; L-Glutamine, dan Casein-Hydrolisate) dan faktor-2 ialah konsentrasi asam amino (0, 75, 150, 225, dan 300 mg/l). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa inisiasi KE Phalaenopsis var. ‘Raiza Agrihorti’ terbaik didapatkan dari pangkal plantlet dan 150 mg/l L-Glutamine dengan waktu inisiasi 18,3-24,0 hari, 80-100% pembentukan KE, dan ukuran KE 0,4-0,5 cm3. Proliferasi KE terbaik ditemukan pada L-Glutamine dengan konsentrasi 150 mg/l. Proliferasi KE mencapai 100% dengan penambahan berat segar sebesar 0,39 g, tingkat multiplikasi (MR) 4,55 kali dan pencokelatan 4,0%. Hasil penelitian ini berpotensi tinggi untuk diterapkan pada kultur starter Phalaenopsis hibrida lain.</p><p><strong>Keywords</strong></p><p>Phalaenopsis hibrid; Asam amino; Inisiasi; Kalus embriogenik; Proliferasi</p><p><strong>Abstract</strong></p><p>Setup of the optimum Phalaenopsis embryogenic callus (EC) is an important role in producing qualified-seedlings of Phalaenopsis in commercial scale. The main constraints that are still being faced are the low rate of culture proliferation and high phenolic accumulations. The research was carried out at the Tissue Culture Laboratory-Indonesian Ornamental Plants Research Institite, from August 2019 through July 2020. The split plot and factorial designs were arranged using a Randomized Completely Block Design (RCBD) with five replications. Experiment-1: explants type (shoot tip, basal part, and leaf of plantlet) was used as main plot and amino acids (amino acids free, L-Proline, L-Glutamine, L-Cysteine, and Casein-Hydrolisate) with 150 mg/l concentration on medium PC1 (1/2 MS + 1,0 mg/l TDZ + 0,5 mg/l BAP + 20 g/l sukrosa) as subplot. Experiment-2: the first factor was amino acids type (L-Proline, L-Cysteine; L-Glutamine, and Casein-Hydrolisate) and the second factor was amino acids concentration (0, 75, 150, 225, and 300 mg/l). Results of the studies revealed that the best EC initiation of Phalaenopsis var. ‘Raiza Agrihorti’ was produced by basal part of plantlet and PC1 medium containing 150 mg/l L-Glutamine with EC Initiation time was 18.3-24.0 days, 80-100% of EC formation and size of 0.4-0.5 cm3. The best proliferation of EC was found in L-Glutamine with 150 mg/l concentration. EC proliferation reached 100% with 4.55 EC multiplication rate, 0.39 g EC fresh weight added, and EC browning as low as 4.0%. The established method is high possibly applied for other Phalaenopsis hybrids.</p>

This study examines design preference in Completely Randomized (CR) split-plot experiments involving random whole plot factor effect and fixed sub-plot factor effect. Many previous works on optimally designing split-plot experiments assumed only factors with fixed levels. However, the cases where interests are on random factors have received little attention. These problems have similarities with optimal design of experiments for fixed parameters of non-linear models because the solution rely on the unknown parameters.&nbsp; Design Space (DS) containing exhaustive list of balanced designs for a fixed sample size were compared for optimality using the product of determinants of derived information matrices of the Maximum Likelihood (ML) estimators equivalent to random and fixed effect in the model. Different magnitudes of components of variance configurations where variances of factor effects are larger than variances of error term were empirically used for the comparisons. The results revealed that the D-optimal designs are those with whole plot factor levels greater than replicates within each level of whole plot.

PurposeThe purpose of this study is to analyze two global brands (i.e. Benetton and Tommy Hilfiger) and one Indian brand (i.e. Wills Lifestyle) in terms of general brand impression, brand specific associations and brand commitment. In addition, the study investigates how the regional differences in India and Indian consumers' affinity towards global brands influence the consumer-brand relationships.Design/methodology/approachThe research framework has been developed based on consumer-brand relationship theory. The consumer–brand relationship is an important indicator of the success of brands, especially when brands attempt to expand to other markets (Roper and Parker, 2006; Bastos and Levy, 2012). Three brand types were chosen for this study. The choice of the US global brand is Tommy Hilfiger, the European global brand is United Colors of Benetton, and the Indian domestic brand is Wills Lifestyle. The study utilized a repeated measure (split-plot) design involving more than two independent groups. A split-plot analysis of variance analyses a design in which a repeated measure (i.e. within subjects) factor is crossed with a between-subjects (i.e. treatment variable) factor.FindingsThe results confirm the importance of global brands over local brands in the Indian apparel consumer market. This study also examined how Indian consumers' affinity for global brands influences their evaluation of the global brands and the local Indian brands.Originality/valueThe study expands the literature on Indian consumer brand preferences through the investigation of three brands. The theoretical background of the study is the consumer-brand relationship theory that explains the importance of consumer–brand relationship when brands attempt to expand to other markets.

This study aimed to: (1) identify the interaction effect between varieties and mixed doses of urea + ZA on the growth and yield of shallots in Ultisol soil; (2) to identify the effect of each shallot varieties and the dosage mixture of urea + ZA which produce the highest yield in Ultisol soils. The research was conducted from April to June 2019 in Tungkaran Village, Martapura, with a split plot design. The main plot was shallot varieties (V) with three levels, namely Biru Lancor (v1), Bima Brebes (v2), and Super Philip (v3). Subplots were a mixture of urea + ZA (P) with four levels, namely 0 kg urea + 600 kg ZA (p1), 100 kg urea + ZA 400 kg (p2), 200 kg urea + 200 kg ZA (p3), and 300 urea kg + ZA 0 kg (p4). Each experiment was repeated three times. Therefore, there were 36 experimental units. Observation parameters included plant height, number of leaves per clump, number of bulbs per clump, fresh bulbs' weight per clump, and yield of stored dry bulbs. The results showed that the Bima Brebes variety (v2) had a significant effect on plant height, number of leaves, number of bulbs per clump, the weight of fresh bulbs per clump, and yield of stored dry bulbs. The mixture of 200 kg urea + 200 g ZA (p3) significantly affected plant height, number of leaves, number of tubers per clump, the weight of fresh tubers per clump, and yield of stored dry tubers.

Penyakit hawar daun bakteri (HDB) yang disebabkan oleh bakteri Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae (Xoo) merupakan penyakit penting yang sering menyerang tanaman padi. Pengujian ketahanan genotipe tanaman terhadap penyakit HBD merupakan sebagai salah satu syarat pelepasan varietas tanaman. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memperoleh informasi potensi genotipe-genotipe padi yang tahan terhadap penyakit HDB yang disebabkan oleh Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae (Xoo) strain III, IV dan VIII di Rumah Kaca. Eksperimen ditata dalam rancangan Split Plot, strain sebagai petak utama dan genotipe sebagai anak petak. Ada sepuluh genotipe padi dan tujuh varietas cek dievaluasi dengan menggunakan analisis varians dan uji lanjut Least Significant Increase (LSI). Hasil penelitian berdasarkan uji lanjut LSI menunjukkan seluruh karakter pengamatan, baik pengamatan periode inkubasi, keparahan penyakit dan jumlah stomata menunjukkan bahwa seluruh genotipe padi (SP101-3-1-5-2, SP101-3-1-5-8, SP101-3-1-19-26, SP101-3-1-38-4, SP87-1-1-7-10, SP101-3-1-19-27, SP101-3-1-38-25, SP87-1-1-7-7, PP48-5-24 dan PP48-5-1) tidak menampilkan perbedaan nyata dengan tetua (Sintanur, Pandanwangi, dan PTB 33) dan varietas cek lainnya (Ciherang, Inpari 32, IRRB7, dan TN1). Semua genotipe uji menunjukkan reaksi rentan pada strain III, dan sangat rentan pada strain IV dan VIII. Pada strain III, baik genotipe uji dan tetua varietas menunjukkan skor lima (rentan), sedangkan  strain IV dan strain VIII menunjukkan antara skor enam dan tujuh (sangat rentan). Ditemukan pula beberapa genotipe dengan skor 1 dan 2 (tahan), hal tersebut dapat membuka kemungkinan ditemukannya genotipe yang tahan. Riset ini menunjukkan bahwa komposisi genotipe berpengaruh terhadap reaksi ketahanan terhadap hawar daun bakteri dan terdapat variasi virulensi HBD.

Kedelai merupakan tanaman potensial yang perlu dikembangkan, karena memiliki peluang pasar yang besar di Sumatera Selatan belum banyak dibudidayakan dan produksinya pun masih rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mendapatkan varietas dan dosis pupuk solid yang berpengaruh terbaik terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman kedelai (Glycine max (L) Merrill). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan Rancangan Petak Terbagi (Split Plot Design). Faktor yang Pertama (Petak Utama) Varietas Kedelai (V) yaitu V1 = Wilis; V2 = Tanggamus dan V3 = Anjasmoro sedangkan Faktor kedua (Anak Petak) Pupuk Solid (S) yaitu S1 = 15 ton ha-1; S2 = 30 ton ha-1 dan S3 = 45 ton ha-1. Penelitian ini telah dilaksanakan pada lahan petani di Kelurahan Sukajadi, Kecamatan Talang Kelapa Banyuasin, pada bulan September sampai Desember 2020. Hasil analisis keragaman (Anova) bahwa perlakuan varietas dan pupuk solid maupun interaksinya berpengaruh nyata sampai sangat nyata terhadap semua peubah yang diamati. Varietas Anjasmoro memberikan hasil terbaik pertumbuhan tanaman kedelai dengan tinggi tanaman tertinggi (64,32 cm), jumlah cabang produktif terbanyak (9,67 cabang), sedangkan varietas Wilis memberikan hasil terbaik produksi tanaman kedelai dengan berat biji per tanaman terbaik (84,11 g), berat biji per petak terbaik (683,67 g), pupuk solid dengan dosis 30 ton ha-1 memberikan hasil terbaik terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman kedelai. Interaksi antara varietas Wilis dan pupuk solid dosis 30 ton ha-1 memberikan hasil terbaik terhadap produksi tanaman kedelai sebesar 783,00 g/petak atau setara dengan 2,08 ton ha-1.
