Abstract Osteomyelitis is a refractory infectious disease in surgery, which takes a long time to be treated and the condition is easy to be repeated, which causes a heavy burden to individuals and families. Actively looking for the cause is the key to the treatment of osteomyelitis. In our work, we encountered a patient with cuboid osteomyelitis who had forgotten the history of injury and had received surgical treatment before seeing a doctor in our hospital, which caused great difficulties to our work. In the work of diagnosis and treatment, we constantly adjust the treatment plan and treatment ideas, and finally remove the branches from the infected focus, and obtain satisfactory treatment results.

A healthy and beautiful smile can affect appearance and confidence. One of the aesthetic problems in dentistry that is often complained of by patients is excessive gingival display (gummy smile). The excessive gingival display can be caused by several factors, one of which is altered passive eruption (APE). One of the treatments to correct gummy smile related to APE is crown lengthening. Crown lengthening can be with bone reduction (gingivectomy with bone reduction) or without bone reduction (gingivectomy). Crown Lengthening with bone reduction is a surgical procedure that aims to maintain the dentogingival complex and to improve smile aesthetics. The purpose of this case report is to determine the crown lengthening with bone reduction (gingivectomy with bone reduction) procedure as a gummy smile treatment related to APE .A23-year-old female patient, came to Dental Hospital of Universitas Airlangga with complaints of her upper gum which not in the same length and the teeth looked short, she considered her smile was less aesthetic. After conducting analyses relating to aesthetics and periodontal tissue, crown lengthening with bone reduction was chosen for this patient treatment. The treatment results are quite good, visible gingival margins that matched the gingival zenith and improved patient's smile profile. APE as the etiology of patient's gummy smile can be corrected. There are no post-surgical complications such as excessive pain and infection. A proper diagnosis, treatment plan, and good techniques can produce a harmonious smile on the patient.

COVID-19 Associated Mucormycosis (CAM) is an emerging infectious disease that has caused increased mortality & morbidity in India during this second wave of the pandemic. The country has reported more than 30,000 cases and over 2,000 deaths by Mucormycosis so far, according to sources from Union Health Ministry. CAM is now a notifiable disease. At our Tertiary care teaching hospital, which caters for COVID 19 management, we are reporting the first case of Rhino orbital CAM, which was caused by Rhizopus spp. Our patient had a history of contact with a suspected COVID 19 patient and was recently diagnosed with uncontrolled diabetes mellitus. A direct KOH microscopic examination of purulent material aspirated from the sinonasal polyp of the patient revealed fungal elements, and Rhizopus spp was isolated. Due to a shortage of Amphotericin B, the patient was referred to a government higher speciality centre for further management. The patient was followed up & was noted that he was treated with antifungal and discharged following recovery.

In this case report, we describe the clinical and radiological features of a calf mandibular symphyseal fracture and evaluate the treatment results. A 1.5-month-old male Holstein weighing 65 kg was presented to the Surgery Clinic, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Adnan Menderes University with a history of salivation and anorexia for three days. After clinical and radiographic assessments, a mandibular symphyseal fracture was determined. Stabilisation of the fracture region was achieved using cerclage wire with a continuous wire-loop technique under general anaesthesia. The cerclage wire was removed five weeks post-surgery. The calf was clinically healthy.

We report a case of limited stage Ewing's sarcoma which was initially treated as chronic osteomyelitis for 3 years. A 24-year-old man presented with a one-week history of pain in the right arm and fever, with histology suggestive of osteomyelitis of the affected humerus. He developed multiple relapses of pain and fever; each episode responded to antibiotic treatment. A second biopsy was performed 3 years later and confirmed a diagnosis of Ewing's sarcoma. Despite a 3-year delay in diagnosis, the disease remained localised. This case report highlights an atypical facet of the natural history of Ewing's sarcoma: a response to antibiotic and anti-inflammatory agents, and the limited stage of the disease despite a misdiagnosis of 3 years. This suggests the possibility that anti-inflammatory agents exert an inhibitory effect on the tumour growth. We also highlight the newer histologic and immunologic staining used in the diagnosis of Ewing's sarcoma.

Gonorrhea is the most frequently reported infectious disease in the United States. Salpingitis and periappendicitis secondary to vaginal gonorrhea are not unusual in the mature woman, but are rare in the prepubertal girl. We are reporting a case of vaginal gonorrhea, acute salpingitis, and periappendicitis in a 5-year-old girl. CASE REPORT An acutely ill 5-year-old girl with a two-week history of a thick, nonpruritic vaginal discharge and an 18-hour history of fever, vomiting, and severe abdominal pain was admitted for evaluation. There was a negative history of dysuria, constipation, diarrhea, introduction of vaginal foreign body, coitus, and molestation. Vital signs on admission were: temperature, 39.7 C orally; pulse, 120 beats per minute; respiration, 36 breaths per minute; and blood pressure 100/60.

Introduction: The aim of this case report is todemonstrate the retreatment of a maxillary caninediagnosed with a horizontal root fracture utilizingan electronic apex locator and monitored with conebeam computed tomography. Case Report: A 35year old African American male was referred for rootcanal retreatment of a maxillary right canine prior toprosthetic rehabilitation. Following removal of guttapercha, an apex locator was utilized to determine thelength of the root canal. After a more comprehensivedental history, the patient confirmed a previouslyunreported history of dental trauma at this time, leading to the suspicion of a horizontal root fracture.Clinical microscopy detected a connective tissue in theapical third of the root canal and multiple periapicaland occlusal radiographs enhanced visualizationof a horizontal root fracture. The coronal segmentwas filled with an MTA apical plug and the apicalsegment remained stable. A recall after 1.5 yearswas performed with CBCT, which showed no apicalradiolucency. Discussion: The present case reportreinforces the precept that detailed dental history andcareful observation of radiographs are critical factorsfor obtaining an accurate diagnosis. Fundamentaladjuncts, such as microscopy, apex locators andCBCT imaging, can potentially aid in the diagnosisand the subsequent treatment plan of horizontal rootfracture.

Keywords
Cone-beam computed tomography; Apex locator Cuspid; Radiography; horizontal root fracture.

Abstract Background : Coronavirus infectious disease 2019 (COVID-19), which evolved to a global pandemic issue leads to coagulation system abnormalities and low molecular heparin or unfractionated heparin is advised. Heparin-induced thrombocytopenia (HIT) is one of the most worried complications of heparin exposure.Case Presentation: In this case report, we presented a 75 year- old male patient with suspicious COVID-19 infection who admitted to our intensive care unit one month after cardiac surgery. On admission due to increased D-dimer level and history of CABG, he was started to LMWH (enoxaparin) 0.5 mg/kg twice daily yet HIT occurred and enoxaparin was held. Fondaparinux was started to decrease the thrombosis risk. Conclusion: In the era of COVID-19, the management of coagulopathy is important while HIT should be mind in every patient after the preliminary heparin treatment.

Objective. The purpose of this case report is to present a digital mandibular tracing technique used to evaluate a patient with temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMD). Clinical features. A 65-year-old Caucasian female patient presented with chronical jaw pain in her temporomandibular joint (TMJ) area. The patient describes a dental history of orthodontic and prosthodontic treatment. Orally patient exhibits super erupted teeth, multiply fractured restorations, facial gingival recession, and rotated teeth. The patient also had an uneven occlusal plane and non-working side contact at maxillary first and mandibular second molars. Evaluation and outcome. A digital mandibular tracing technique, cone beam computed tomography, and full-arch optical impressions were used to evaluate the patient's condition. The left condyle was slightly flat compared to the right one on the anterior surface. Limited protrusion and lateral movements and asymmetric border movements were detected. Apparently, an incomplete orthodontic treatment at the patient's early age, iatrogenic mandibular anterior restorations, and hit and slight effect are considered as causes for Temporo-mandibular joint problems. The recommended treatment plan sequence for this patient is an occlusal adjustment, replacement of defective restorations and fabrication of an occlusal guard for one of the arches. Conclusion. Digital mandibular tracing system can help the dentist to diagnose and analyze the causes of TMD patient specifically and individually. It also provides quick resolution and management for patients with TMD.

Brucellosis is a multi-organ infectious disease that can cause genitourinary manifestations. The most common genitourinary manifestation is orchitis; however, intratesticular abscesses are a rare complication. Although surgery is the standard treatment for intratesticular abscesses, medical therapy alone can be successful. We report the case of a 36-year-old man with multiple testicular abscesses caused by relapse of systemic brucellosis. The patient presented after a history of treated systemic brucellosis with left testicular swelling and pain. An ultrasound showed multiple small testicular abscesses, and the repeat diluted brucella titer demonstrated the causative pathogen. The patient was successfully treated with 3 months of oral targeted antibiotics, with no need for drainage or orchiectomy.
