Abstract Iridoviruses are emerging pathogens widely spread in diverse environments and hosts. Numerous species of the iridoviridae family are known to cause severe disease in freshwater and marine organisms. Here, we report the complete genome sequence and phylogenetic analysis of the iridovirus strain LPIV-ZS-2021 isolated from a small yellow croaker (Larimichthys polyactis) in China. The genome sequence comprises 110,560 bp with a G+C content of 53.42%, has 104 putative open reading frames (ORFs) and shares highest sequence homology with Red red seabream iridovirus (RSIV) isolated in Japan (98.61%). Phylogenetic analysis revealed that it is clustered within RSIV clade1. This is the first fully sequenced RSIV genomes detected in the small yellow croaker. The host range expansion of Megalocytivirus genus iridovirus warrants further attention to determine its potential economic and ecological impact.

ABSTRACT The complete genome sequence of a variant of porcine deltacoronavirus, isolated from a diarrheal piglet and designated CH/JXJGS01/2016, was sequenced and analyzed. Phylogenetic analysis demonstrated that CH/JXJGS01/2016 shares the highest nucleotide and amino acid identities with the Chinese strain NH (GenBank accession number KU981059).

The first complete genome sequence of a little cherry virus-2 (LChV-2-TA) isolate from China was determined using small RNA deep sequencing combined with overlapping reverse transcriptase PCR (RT-PCR). Phylogenetic analysis revealed that LChV-2-TA grouped in a well-supported cluster with members of the genus Ampelovirus with close relationships to previously reported LChV-2 isolates.

ABSTRACT The complete genome of Zika virus (ZIKV) strain CVD_06-274 was isolated from the serum of an infected patient in Thailand in 2006. Phylogenetic analysis showed that this strain belongs to the Asian lineage and also high titers in Vero cells (RCB 10-87). It has potential for development as an inactivated ZIKV vaccine.

ABSTRACT We report here the complete genome sequence of strain H9N2, an avian influenza virus (AIV) isolated from dove in Guangxi, China. Phylogenetic analysis showed that it was a novel reassortant AIV derived from chicken, duck, and wild bird. This finding provides useful information for understanding the H9N2 subtype of AIV circulating in southern China.

A recent outbreak of particularly virulent disease caused by porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus has occurred in swine herds across the United States. We report here the complete genome sequence of eight viral isolates from four Nebraska herds experiencing an outbreak of severe disease in 2016.

ABSTRACT Here, we report the complete genome sequence of an H6N8 avian influenza virus (AIV) isolated from wild waterfowl in Poyang Lake, China, in 2016. Phylogenetic analysis showed that it was a novel reassortant AIV between domestic ducks and wild waterfowl. The finding of this study is helpful for our understanding of the ecology and the evolutionary characteristics of H6 subtypes of AIV in birds.

The first complete genome sequence of a strain of Newcastle disease virus (NDV) of genotype XVII is described here. A velogenic strain (duck/Nigeria/903/KUDU-113/1992) was isolated from an apparently healthy free-roaming domestic duck sampled in Kuru, Nigeria, in 1992. Phylogenetic analysis of the fusion protein gene and complete genome classified the isolate as a member of NDV class II, genotype XVII.

ABSTRACT We describe here a double-stranded RNA mycovirus, termed Fusarium graminearum alternavirus 1 (FgAV1/AH11), from the isolate AH11 of the phytopathogenic fungus F. graminearum . Phylogenetic analysis showed that FgAV1/AH11 belongs to a newly proposed family, Alternaviridae . This is the first report of a mycovirus in the family Alternaviridae that infects F. graminearum .
