Abstract The direct simultaneous detection of electron and positron bunch signals was successfully performed for the first time with wideband pickups and a detection system at the positron capture section of the SuperKEKB factory. The time interval between the electron and positron bunches, their bunch lengths, and bunch intensities depending on the phase of accelerating structures were measured to investigate their capture process and to maximally optimize the positron intensity. The results show that the time intervals were measured in the range of 135–265 ps, and the line-order switch of the electron and positron bunches in the axial direction was clearly observed as a function of the phase. The positron (electron) intensity was maximized at the optimal phase (180 deg shifted from the optimum). These series of measurements have never been experimentally conducted so far. It is demonstrated that the positron intensity can be systematically optimized with this system as functions of beam parameters in multidimensional spaces for any positron capture section.

The elastic ring is widely used in elastic support structures of aero-engine because of its simple structure and convenient manufacturing. In this paper, two elastic ring models, 3D and 2D models, are proposed, where the fillets between the bulges and ring are considered. The 2D model is more efficient for the calculation of stiffness characteristics. The 3D model can be used to obtain the maximum stress position in the axial direction. Then the experimental testing is carried out to verify the accuracy and effectiveness of the proposed models. Based on the proposed models, the stiffness nonlinearity and critical load of the elastic ring are found for the first time, which can be used to determine the normal working load range. Moreover, the elastic ring models with and without fillets are developed, and the effect of the fillets on stress is discussed. The results show that the stress is reduced by considering the fillets, which are not considered in the existing literature.

The homogeneous branching process with migration and continuous time is considered. We investigated the distribution of the period-life τ, i.e., the length of the time interval between the moment when the process is initiated by a positive number of particles and the moment when there are no individuals in the population for the first time. The probability generating function of the random process, which describes the behavior of the process within the period-life, was obtained. The boundary theorem for the period-life of the subcritical or critical branching process with migration was found.

The Raman spectra of four molecules absorbing in the visible region (SnJ4, GeJ4, TiBr4, and TiJ4) are presented. They were excited with a quasi-continuous ruby laser and recorded with a special electronic detection system. Except for TiJ4, complete Raman spectra of crystal powder pellets could be obtained for the first time. The assignment reported by previous authors was confirmed by accurate polarization studies of solutions or pure liquid. The assignment is also in the solid state possible on the basis of Td point group symmetry. The fundamental vibrations of TiJ4 in solutions are: ν1 (A1) =162, ν2 (E) =51, ν3 (F2) =319 and ν4 (F2) Y = 67 cm-1

Over the past four decades, ATP, the obligatory energy molecule for keeping all cells alive and functioning, was thought to contribute only one set of 31P MR signals in the human brain. Here we report for the first time the simultaneous detection of two pools of ATP in the human brain by high-resolution 3D 31P MRSI at ultrahigh field 7T. These two ATP pools differ in cytosolic Mg2+ concentration (1:0.5 ratio), with a resonance separation of 0.5 ppm at beta-ATP, a well-established imaging marker of intracellular Mg2+ concentration. Mg2+ is a cofactor of ATPase and its deficiency is associated with immune dysfunction, free radical damage, perturbations in Ca2+ homeostasis, development of atherosclerosis and dyslipidemia, and a number of neurological disorders, such as cerebral vasospasm, stroke, migraine, Alzheimer's disease, and Parkinson's disease. Our study documents reduced Mg levels in the brain of patients with myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein antibody disorders (MOGAD), which is an idiopathic, inflammatory, demyelinating condition of the central nervous system (CNS) more common in pediatric patients. Low-Mg2+ ATP signals in MOGAD were detected mostly in the white matter regions, which may suggest Mg2+ deficiency in oligodendrocytes, which are primarily responsible for maintenance and generation of the axonal myelin sheath. This preliminary study demonstrates the utility of the 7T 3D 31P MSRI for revealing altered energy metabolism with reduced Mg availability at a normal ATP level. The potential correlation between [Mg2+] and disease progression over time should be assessed in larger cohorts.

Smart grid is expected to improve the efficiency, reliability and economics of current energy systems. Using two-way flow of electricity and information, smart grid builds an automated, highly distributed energy delivery network. In this thesis, we present the requirements for intrusion detection systems in smart grid, neighborhood area network (NAN) in particular. We propose an intrusion detection system (IDS) that considers the constraints and requirements of the NAN. It captures the communication and computation overhead constraints as well as the lack of a central point to install the IDS. The IDS is distributed on some nodes which are powerful in terms of memory, computation and the degree of connectivity. Our IDS uses an analytical approach for detecting Wormhole attack. We simulate wireless mesh NANs in OPNET Modeler and for the first time, we integrate our analytical model in Maple from MapleSoft with our OPNET simulation model.

Gas electron multipliers (GEMs) with wire (WGEMs) or metal electrodes (MGEMs), which don’t use any plastic insulators between electrodes are created. The chambers containing MGEMs (WGEMs) with pin-anodes are proposed as detectors for searching of spin-dependent interactions between Dark Matter (DM) particles and gases with nonzero-spin nuclei (H2, D2, 3He, 21Ne, CF4, CH4, etc.). In this paper, we present a review of such chambers. For investigation of the gas mixtures Ne+10%H2, H2 (D2) +3ppmTMAE, the chamber containing WGEM with pin-anode detection system was constructed. In this paper we present the results of an experimental study of these gaseous mixtures exited by an α - source. Mixture of Ar + 40 ppm C2H4 and mixture 50% Xe + 50%CF4 have been investigated. The spatial distributions of photoelectron clouds produced by primary scintillations on α- and β-particle tracks, as well as the distributions of photoelectron clouds due to photons from avalanches at the pin-anode, have been measured for the first time. In our experiments as another filling of the chambers for search of low-mas WIMP (<10 GeV/c2), solar neutrino and solar axions with spin-dependent interaction we propose to use the mixtures: D2 + 3ppmTMAE, 3He + 3%CH4, 21Ne + 10%H2, at pressure 10-17 bar. And in our experiment with liquid gases is used the mixtures with 19F (LAr + CF4, LXe + CF4) and mixture LCH4 + 40ppm TMAE. The time projection chamber (TPC) with the mixture D2 + 3ppmTMAE filling allow to search of spin-dependent interactions of solar axions and deuterium. As well as we present the detecting systems for search of narrow pp-resonances (quarks) in accelerators experiments.

Objective.Determine the frequency of occurrence of tyrosine kinase expression of the mutated ALK and TAG-72 gene among patients with primary melanoma of the skin, to identify their association with a number of histological parameters, and to assess the diagnostic value of the determination of ALK and TAG-72.Materials and methods.Paraffin blocks with surgical material from 40 patients with primary skin melanoma. For routine histological examination, the material was fixed with 10 % neutral formalin for 24 h, poured into paraffin, sections were prepared with a thickness of 4–5 μm, stained with hematoxylin and eosin. IHC study with monoclonal antibodies D57.3 to ALK was performed on an immunostender – Ventana, with antibodies B72.3 to TAG-72 – on Thermo Fischer. As a detection system used: Envision – for TAG-72 and Ventana – for ALK.Results.ALK mutation was detected in 7 (12 %), TAG-72 – 4 (10 %) cases. Evaluation of the correlation force between the presence of ALK and TAG-72 showed a direct average coupling strength (correlation coefficient was 0.31). A direct correlation of the mean force between the presence of TAG-72 oncoprotein, ALK mutation and ulceration in the patient was found – the correlation coefficient was 0.53 and 0.68, respectively. There was a statistically significant association between the presence of ALK and lymphoid infiltration, which in most cases (57 %) was pronounced (p <0.05).Conclusion.Comparing the positive sign of the expression of ALK – 17.5 % and TAG-72 – 10 %, and the positive of their simultaneous detection – 7.5 %, it can be concluded that further studies to determine their diagnostic value are promising. The presence of severe lymphoid infiltration in ALK-positive patients claims a diagnostic value in primary skin melanoma.
