The region of Yushu has fragile natural environment. In 2010, it suffered severe damages caused by earthquakes. This paper subject, on the basis of status research of natural and cultural environment in Yushu area and urban public facilities across the world, is aiming at a design attempt of public facilities suitable for Yushu area under the guidance of sustainable-development design theory. After constructing computer models, we made physical models to further test the reliability of our scheme. The overall design acts according to circumstances, and makes it environmental friendly, developmental sustainable, economical, aesthetic, practical and reliable. We also added to our design some local characteristics to make it better integrate into the local natural environmental features so that it could be widely used. In the end, we summarized the pros and cons of the scheme through theoretical analysis of our design process, despite that, in June 2014, we had an on-the-spot investigation in Yushu, and according to its current state of development, we made outlooks of our further scheme practice.

Abstract: Shopping center is one of the public facilities visited by various people, it should provide facilities that pay attention to accessibility, namely the facilities provided for everyone, including people with disabilities to realize equal opportunities in all aspects of life. Problems that are often encountered in shopping center facilities are that they are not yet fully easy to use by persons with disabilities, making it difficult for them to carry out their shopping activities. it in all fields. This study aims to evaluate the accessibility of persons with disabilities at shopping centers in Samarinda with a case study of Plaza Mulia,. This research is a Post-Occupational Evaluation (EPH) to determine the level of success of a building's performance in providing satisfaction to its users, using quantitative and qualitative mixed methods. The results showed that the percentage of the overall conformity of the building to the standards of Permen PUPR No. 14/PRT/M/2017 is 71.45%, which means the building has good accessibility. However, there is still a very low percentage if you look at each aspect, in diffable toilet and urinals.

Emotional narration can provide innovative ideas for sustainable urban facilities. The design of sustainable urban facilities starts from the concept of emotional design, focuses on improving the user’s experience, implements innovative design process, extends the product life cycle, utilizes new sustainable materials, combines emotional factors with product functions, and gets more citizens participate in the design process. The research result shows that the gradual emotional narration thinking change from a single dimension to multiple dimensions can promote the design innovation, upgrades service of urban public facilities, and enhances the connection between users and urban facilities. It can be seen that a series of sustainable urban facilities designed based on emotional narration can serve as effective carriers for communication between urban residents and the city. Sustainable urban facilities with humanistic care are dedicated to making urban residents realize they cannot only enjoy the urban facilities, but also participate in the creation of better social environment

The proposal aims to bring an accessible, time efficient, and secure design of Tugu Train Station in Yogyakarta City. Yogyakarta happens to be located strategically on the main routes of Java. It is one of the reasons why the city becomes a tourist destination, both domestic and international. Tugu Train Station manages to reach passengers number increase by 10-17% annually. The train station has a good prospect to be developed into a multifunctional train station. The design proposal rises some problems: designing exterior spaces which directs users to the site, interior spaces which makes users navigate easily, and a seamless, time efficient, and clear movement flow from the site to the building. The implementation of wayfinding method is based on post-occupancy evaluation of the existing compound in which confusing building layout creates difficulties in mobility for the passengers. Wayfinding method focuses on spatial organisation, movement flow organisation, and signage placement. This design proposal would expand existing train station buildings to provide more rooms in the anticipation of passenger increase for year to come; as well as to build new public facilities. Furthermore, the implementation of wayfinding method is expected to create an accessible, time efficient, and secure layout which in turn caters various types of passenger.
