Public Space and Shopping Mall in the Contemporary City: New Meanings of North Shopping in Fortaleza/CE  Abstract Start a discussion about the current city us the need to build an analysis on malls as spaces that have attracted a considerable  flow of people, causing changes in the relationships of the townspeople with the public spaces. With the rapid development of urbanization worldwide, there is a large volume of neighborhoods that need to be renewed with various problems such as poor building performance, few public facilities, congested road traffic, unequal living standards, disappearing community culture, and deprived environments. Performance evaluations are considered to be useful tools for ensuring the outcomes of sustainable renewal. Although many research works have assessed the performances of urban renewal projects, evaluations, especially for neighborhood renewal projects, are often overlooked. Besides, it is also hard to find a general standard that is suitable for evaluating the performance of any neighborhood renewal project with a lack of related regulations or codes. Thus, this paper intends to build a framework to assess the relative performances of multiple neighborhood renewal projects through a hybrid AHP-TOPSIS method. A case study in Nanjing, China, is used to show how this framework could be applied to decision-making in order to pursue sustainable neighborhood renewal. The results are expected to provide references for sustainable renewal in each neighborhood. Suggestions related to the findings are proposed to further improve the performances of neighborhood renewal projects, such as establishing a multiple principle–agent framework, providing a sustainable funding system from both the public and private sector, and implementing multiprogram management measures.

The lack of public open space due to the land competition in urban area generates less activity to gather in community, because of this changing of the life style, people who used to gather in public open spaces now moving to gather in modern shopping centers. This led to the development of shopping center design that integrated with public open space as a forum for the community to gather. This research takes a case study in Paris Van Java Mall Bandung (West Java), Mall Kelapa Gading (DKI Jakarta), and Lippo Mall kemang (DKI Jakarta). These three shopping centers is integrated with public open space. The purpose of this research is to find a form of integration of public open spaces to the shopping centers, especially in the aspect of circulation, zoning activities, and visual space. The method use in this research is descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach. Methods of data collection are using place-centered mapping and person-centered mapping. The results of this research indicate that circulation aspects use camouflaging approach by the linear arranged retails, that visitors can pass through the space between retails whose circulation form with semi open space. The aspect of zoning activity will form zoning receiver, zoning connections, zoning support (retail, sitting area, garden), and multiuse zoning. The aspect of visual space will be dominated by the space and the principle of rhythm, so that the visual of the space would provide unity between public open space and shopping center.

Comfortability level of pedestrian facilities is practically implied by the pedestrian level of service (i.e., PLOS), which defines the performance level of pedestrian facilities. The level is set by applying certain criteria, which may influence by the heterogeneity and the pedestrian behavior. On the other side, the growth attention is given to the inclusive pedestrian environment that pay a great consideration to the persons with disabilities (PWDs), including the visual impairment person (i.e., VIP). Moreover, the universal design of the public facilities, which has minimum barriers for the PWDs needs to be promoted more, to attain better accessibility for the public. This paper then proposes a method for calculating of PLOS by taking into account the VIP perspective to the pedestrian facilities performance.

IntroductionAmidst growing consensus that stakeholder decision-making during drug development should be informed by an understanding of patient preferences, the Innovative Medicines Initiative project ‘Patient Preferences in Benefit-Risk Assessments during the Drug Life Cycle’ (PREFER) is developing evidence-based recommendations about how and when patient preferences should be integrated into the drug life cycle. This protocol describes a PREFER clinical case study which compares two preference elicitation methodologies across several populations and provides information about benefit–risk trade-offs by those at risk of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) for preventive interventions. Methods and analysisThis mixed methods study will be conducted in three countries (UK, Germany, Romania) to assess preferences of (1) first-degree relatives (FDRs) of patients with RA and (2) members of the public. Focus groups using nominal group techniques (UK) and ranking surveys (Germany and Romania) will identify and rank key treatment attributes. Focus group transcripts will be analysed thematically using the framework method and average rank orders calculated. These results will inform the treatment attributes to be assessed in a survey including a discrete choice experiment (DCE) and a probabilistic threshold technique (PTT). The survey will also include measures of sociodemographic variables, health literacy, numeracy, illness perceptions and beliefs about medicines. The survey will be administered to (1) 400 FDRs of patients with RA (UK); (2) 100 FDRs of patients with RA (Germany); and (3) 1000 members of the public in each of UK, Germany and Romania. Logit-based approaches will be used to analyse the DCE and imputation and interval regression for the PTT.Ethics and disseminationThis study has been approved by the London-Hampstead Research Ethics Committee (19/LO/0407) and the Ethics Committee of the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (92_17 B). The protocol has been approved by the PREFER expert review board. The results will be disseminated widely and will inform the PREFER recommendations.

The pedestrian communication in exterior design of the Institute for Orthopedic Surgery "Banjica" was analyzed in terms of its physical accessibility for people who have some difficulty in mobility. Checklists were used for analysis of different elements that influence users mobility, as well as photo analysis for a clearer display of the established barriers to movement. The results showed the presence of a number of obscales which hinder the movement of certain groups of users, therefore, the spaces of pedestrian communication were evaluated as partially accessible. It can be concluded that it is necessary to provide an accessible environment, arranged with respect to human diversity, to ensure to persons with disabilities, as well as for all other citizens, equal opportunities and participation in all social trends and activities, especially the ability to freely access to all health care institutions.

The convenience offered in a shopping center is an important point for achieving a shopping center's success. Confusing visitor circulation will certainly disrupt the comfort of visitors when in a shopping center. The possibility that causes visitors to feel confused is the circulation itself or the presence of multi-entrance in a shopping center. The purpose of this study is to determine whether the multi-entrance at Paskal 23 Shopping Center causes visitors to feel confused when they are inside the building and how it affects. The method used is a qualitative method, data obtained from literature studies, direct collection to the field, and interviews with visitors to Paskal 23 Shopping Center. Such a conclusion was obtained when discussing multi-entrances at Paskal 23 Shopping Centers can give visitors consent to the building. The multi-entrance system must have its own elements and have a strong character to be able to access the location of each entrance. The existence of this element is not seen in the multi-entrance Paskal 23 Shopping Center which in turn causes confusion for visitors in circulation.

This article aims to analyze Taiwan's government accountability for fishermen who are working in the waters of Nanfangao, Taiwan. Jeremy Bentham through his book "Introduction to the morals and legislation" states that legal duty is nurturing goodness and preventing evil, so the law should provide benefits or usability for the crowd (to serve Utili TY). The community as a basic component can sue the government if in other cases raises losses on the management of public facilities and infrastructure. It also relates to the Taiwan government's liability for legal protection, for which the state's responsibility has been regulated in the SCL (State Compensation Law) or the Taiwan State Compensation Act. As for that would be a case study of bridge collapse which is one of the disability management of state-owned public facilities that cause harm to the community in Taiwan. That article 2 SCL describes the country or Government of Taiwan shall be liable for any form of loss, property damage and loss of life arising from the management of the state's public facilities. This is a real example of the application of Taiwan's accountability to public services as a form of legal protection to the public. The concept of the responsibility in Indonesia is governed by article 1365 BW, that personal accountability is caused by individual events and legal acts. There is a comparative study of government and local Government accountability within the scope of administrative law..
