Multiscale Effects of Multimodal Public Facilities Accessibility on Housing Prices Based on MGWR: A Case Study of Wuhan, China

The layout of public service facilities and their accessibility are important factors affecting spatial justice. Previous studies have verified the positive influence of public facilities accessibility on house prices; however, the spatial scale of the impact of various public facilities accessibility on house prices is not yet clear. This study takes transportation analysis zone of Wuhan city as the spatial unit, measure the public facilities accessibility of schools, hospitals, green space, and public transit stations with four kinds of accessibility models such as the nearest distance, real time travel cost, kernel density, and two step floating catchment area (2SFCA), and explores the multiscale effect of public services accessibility on house prices with multiscale geographically weighted regression model. The results show that the differentiated scale effect not only exists among different public facility accessibilities, but also exists in different accessibility models of the same sort of facility. The article also suggests that different facilities should adopt its appropriate accessibility model. This study provides insights into spatial heterogeneity of urban public service facilities accessibility, which will benefit decision making in equal accessibility planning and policy formulation for the layout of urban service facilities.

A Network Dynamics Model for the Transmission of COVID-19 in Diamond Princess and a Response to Reopen Large-Scale Public Facilities

Background: The current epidemic of COVID-19 has become the new normal. However, the novel coronavirus is constantly mutating. In public transportation or large entertainment venues, it can spread more quickly once an infected person is introduced. This study aims to discuss whether large public facilities can be opened and operated under the current epidemic situation. Methods: The dual Barabási–Albert (DBA) model was used to build a contact network. A dynamics compartmental modeling framework was used to simulate the COVID-19 epidemic with different interventions on the Diamond Princess. Results: The effect of isolation only was minor. Regardless of the transmission rate of the virus, joint interventions can prevent 96.95% (95% CI: 96.70–97.15%) of infections. Compared with evacuating only passengers, evacuating the crew and passengers can avoid about 11.90% (95% CI: 11.83–12.06%) of infections; Conclusions: It is feasible to restore public transportation services and reopen large-scale public facilities if monitoring and testing can be in place. Evacuating all people as soon as possible is the most effective way to contain the outbreak in large-scale public facilities.

EFEKTIVITAS PEMBELAJARAN ONLINE SAAT PANDEMI COVID-19 DI UNIVERSITAS ISLAM NEGERI AR-RANIRY BANDA ACEH

The Covid-19 pandemic has changed the daily routine of work. Since the issuance of PP Number 21 of 2020 concerning Large-Scale Social Restrictions, activities in public places or public facilities have been limited with the aim of reducing the spread of Covid-19. Likewise with the learning process, the Covid-19 pandemic has changed the conventional face-to-face learning pattern to face-to-face online. Therefore, this study aims to determine how effective online learning is at UIN Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh. The research method used in this study is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach with observation, interviews and documentation techniques. The research subjects are LPM UIN Ar-Raniry as policy makers as well as lecturers and students at UIN Ar-Raniry as implementers of online learning. The results of this study indicate that online learning at UIN Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh has not been effective, but to achieve this effectiveness the campus has tried as much as possible by doing several things, namely before the implementation of online learning activities the campus first designed planning and survey conditions and training to lecturers, then formulate policies, formulate goals and strategies, determine facilities and supervision which is carried out routinely through the Siakad portal. An Accessible City is a Healthy and People-Centred Smart City

Accessibility for all is an inspiring issue for future urban agendas. In European cities, the ageing of urban population and the growth of social and economic disparities call for interdisciplinary reflection and practice on the relations between well-being and inclusion and the organization and upgrading of public facilities. The challenge is to ensure the usability of urban spaces to the largest extent of persons, according to their different capabilities. Based on research developed at the University of Trieste (Italy), and taking the region Friuli Venezia Giulia as its main study context, the article questions a variety of recent urban tools and policies in order to show their level of innovation and the obstacles that still oppose their more effective integration. The aim is to highlight possible fields for public action and the need to rethink planning instruments and technical skills in the frame of a user experience and smart design approach.

Assessing geographical and economic inequalities in caesarean section rates between the districts of Bihar, India: a secondary analysis of the National Family Health Survey

BackgroundIn Bihar, one of the most populous and poorest states in India, caesarean sections have increased over the last decade. However, an aggregated caesarean section rate at the state level may conceal inequities at the district level.ObjectivesThe primary aim of this study was to analyse the inequalities in the geographical and socioeconomic distribution of caesarean sections between the districts of Bihar. The secondary aim was to compare the contribution of free-for-service government-funded public facilities and fee-for-service private facilities to the caesarean section rate.SettingBihar, with a population in the 2011 census of approximately 104 million people, has a low GDP per capita (US$610), compared with other Indian states. The state has the highest crude birth rate (26.1 per 1000 population) in India, with one baby born every two seconds. Bihar is divided into 38 administrative districts, 101 subdivisions and 534 blocks. Each district has a district (Sadar) hospital, and six districts also have one or more medical college hospitals.MethodsThis retrospective secondary data analysis was based on open-source national datasets from the 2015 and 2019 National Family Health Surveys, with respective sample sizes of 45 812 and 42 843 women aged 15–49 years.ParticipantsSecondary data analysis of pregnant women delivering in public and private institutions.ResultsThe caesarean section rate increased from 6.2% in 2015 to 9.7% in 2019 in Bihar. Districts with a lower proportion of poor population had higher caesarean section rates (R2=0.45) among all institutional births, with 10.3% in private and 2.9% in public facilities. Access to private caesarean sections decreased (R2=0.46) for districts with poorer populations.ConclusionMarked inequalities exist in access to caesarean sections. The public sector needs to be strengthened to improve access to obstetric services for those who need it most.

Survei Perilaku Pencegahan Covid-19 Pada Masyarakat di Kabupaten Banyumas

Background: Covid 19 is nowadays becoming a global problem. This disease caused by the infection of SARS-Cov-2 and can spread out from human to human by saliva splash. The prevention behavior of this disease are by washing hands with soap on running water for twenty seconds, applying hands with hand sanitizer, wearing mask, preventing crowd, and keeping distance for 1-2 meters. Those efforts, however, are still rarely done by the people. Aims: This research aims to know the covid-19 prevention behavior of people in Banyumas. Method: This research is an observational descriptive research which uses cross-sectional approach. The samples of this research are 450 people, and the data were collected by online questionnaire. Results: the behavior of washing hands using soap on running water for 20 seconds (50.4%), applying hand sanitizer (50.4%), wearing mask in shop, mall, restaurant and other public facilities such as worship places (76.4%), doing activity among the crowd and keeping distance for 1-2 meters (60.2%). Conclusion: There is a need for health education related to Covid-19 prevention to improve behaviour to prevent the transmission of Covid-19, since the respondent proportion in doing prevention is about 90% from entire samples.

Survival Book to Help BIPA Learners Off the Hook of Culture Shock

From time to time, Indonesian for Foreign Speakers (BIPA) continues to grow, including BIPA at the State University of Surabaya (Unesa). It cannot be denied that in its journey, BIPA Unesa encountered various problems. One of them is a report from a foreign student who was confused when he first arrived in Surabaya. Their confusion includes finding the ideal place to live, using online motorcycle taxi applications, and using public facilities such as markets, hospitals, and police stations. Not only that, but the understanding of academic rules on campus has also not been able to be conveyed on target. Some local students and lecturers have helped, but the limited number and time have made it impossible to assist students. Therefore, this research focuses on making a pocketbook called "survival book" in five different languages ​​for foreign students. The benefits of this research are expected to be able to solve the concerns of BIPA students when they first come to Surabaya with the development of a pocketbook. This research belongs to the category of product development. With this research, it is hoped that it will produce an output in the form of a survival book for BIPA Unesa students as well as scientific articles that will be published in accredited national journals.
