Introduction. Significant share of the costs for deep quarries is the cost of rock mass reloading from the “assembly transport” to the main transport make up a considerable proportion in open pit development costs. Portable handling systems with bunkers are used, the parameters of which are determined by several methods. Methodology. In this work, when determining the capacity of the bunker, two approaches have been considered: deterministic – transport systems operate at nominal conditions; probabilistic – transport systems operate with their inherent unevenness. The methodology adopted is based on the geometry of the bunker in the configuration of the “inverted obelisk”, as the most productive system. Formulas to calculate the technological and geometric capacity of the bunker have been proposed. The proposed method parameters design takes into account assembly (automobile) transport arrival rate, which is described by the Poisson distribution and railway transport arrival rate described by the distribution of Erlang. Several numerical examples reveal practical application for bunker parameters determination. 112 "Izvestiya vysshikh uchebnykh zavedenii. Gornyi zhurnal". No. 4. 2020 ISSN 0536-1028 Results. The significance of the required additional bunker volumes has been justified in order to make up for cyclic transport vehicles irregular operation within combined transport complexes.

The paper brings to the fore the need for state support by making investments in railway infrastructure, in order to maintain and ensure the success of railway transport of trucks by introducing RO-LA transport in rail traffic. Using this mode of transport reduces the cost of maintaining road infrastructure, protects the environment, reduces fuel consumption, and reduces road traffic congestionRO-LA transport is an alternative solution to auto transport and contributes to the streamlining of traffic of goods and people.

Abstract Aquaculture and horticulture are interlinked and both of these agricultural components have considerable importance in the economy of Bangladesh. Most people in this country depend on fish as the principal source of animal protein. Vegetables are also considered by Bangladeshi people as important food items and as a source of micronutrients. Ponds, among various inland water bodies, are the most important water reservoir, providing access to fish, irrigation for surrounding vegetables and rice crops and water for family use, and thus are an integral part of rural and peri-urban households. Integration of crops with fish farming through pond-dike systems may be an economically viable and productive system for both richer and poorer farmers in rural and peri-urban areas in Bangladesh. High-cost inputs in fish farming are not needed in such pond-dike systems, therefore reducing the cost of inputs, provided that there is proper integration between pond and crops grown in the vicinity. A community-level assessment of the importance and role of pond-dike systems and a baseline study, carried out in villages in Mymensingh district in early 2002 by the Pondlive project funded by the European Commission, are outlined.

Abstract The main aim of this work was to identify an optimal route design for the delivery of coal from the open pit mines to the enrichment plants on the example of the Sibathractic Group’s mine “Kolyvansk” and its enrichment plants «Listvjanskaja-1» and «Listvjanskaja-2». The new route would allow the corporation to increase production rates and to reduce the risks associated with the use of motor vehicles. Dynamic programming method, mainly the Bellman equation principle, was chosen as an algorithm for searching for the optimal route from Kolyvansky mine to the «Listvjanskaja-1» and «Listvjanskaja-2». In the course of the study the two possible routes were selected. Further comparison indicated that only one of them - “2nd railway track”, corresponded to all the recommended parameters for the delivery route. All the findings are presented in detail in the study.

Advanced manufacturing processes improve the cost and quality of goods. Rotary friction welding is a fast, energy-efficient, and reliable joining process for metals, but new applications are hindered by large development costs for each new alloy. Each alloy set has different welding characteristics; therefore, lessons learned from a single alloy are not always broadly applicable. To establish knowledge that is applicable across multiple alloys, a family of different superalloys were welded to discover process trends that were applicable beyond a single alloy set. In this study, weld symmetry did not correlate to weld strength across alloy systems. Some alloys’ strongest welds occurred at maximum symmetry, whereas high asymmetry was associated with different alloys’ maximum strength. High feed rates, high welding forces, low energy, and low temperatures all resulted in high-strength welds across all alloy and geometry combinations. Tensile strengths greater than 95% of base-metal strength were recorded for most alloy systems.

Low-carbon transport is a priority in addressing climate change. Transport is still almost totally dependent on fossil fuels (96%) and accounts for almost 60% of global oil use. Sustainable transport systems, both passenger and freight, should be economically and technically feasible, but also low-carbon and environmentally friendly. The calculation of greenhouse gas emissions in transport projects is becoming a primary target of transport companies as a part of an endeavor for low-carbon strategies to reduce the energy demand and environmental impact. This paper investigates the CO2 impact of construction and operation of the main highway and railway line infrastructure in Greece, which connects Athens and Thessaloniki, the capital and the second biggest city in Greece respectively and provides a comparative analysis in roadway and railway transport.

The purpose of the study is definition and substantiation of the main development points of assessment and planning functions in the cost management system of railway transport infrastructure. Methods used in the study include general scientific analysis and synthesis, dynamic and structural analysis of economic indicators, as well as textual analysis of regulatory documents. Such approach enables to formulate industry-specific peculiarities of cost assessment based on general theoretical concepts of effective use of factors of production. The result of this study is an author's developed approach to cost management system for railway transport infrastructure.

During the past decade, the cost of constructing new homes has risen dramatically. While the overall consumer price index rose by 74 percent between 1967 and the end of 1976, the cost of constructing new housing rose by about 103 percent nationally. This trend in costs has priced a growing proportion of lower and middle income groups out of the market for new houses. The national average price for new housing is currently $52,000 per unit. This has led to expressions of public concern that efforts need to be undertaken to find ways by which these low and middle income groups can obtain access to new housing.

The importance of public transport systems continues to grow. These systems must respond to an increasing demand for population mobility and traffic disturbances. Rail transport networks can be considered as Discrete Event Systems (DES) with time constraints. The time factor is a critical parameter, since it includes dates to be respected in order to avoid overlaps, delays, and collisions between trains. P-time Petri Nets have been recognized as powerful modeling and analysis tools for railway transport systems. Temporal disturbances in these systems include railway infrastructure, traffic management, and disturbances (weather, obstacles on the tracks, malice, social movement, etc.). The developments presented in this paper are devoted to the modeling and the study of the robustness of the railway transport systems in order to evaluate the stability and the efficiency of these networks. In this study two robust control strategies towards time disturbances are presented. The first one consists of compensating the disturbance as soon as it is observed in order to avoid constraints violation. The second one allows generating, by the control, a temporal lag identical to the disturbance in order to avoid the death of marks on the levels of synchronization transitions of the P-time Petri net model.
