The aim of the present study was to determine the views of pre-service teachers on artificial intelligence. In the present qualitative study, conducted with the phenomenology design, that data were collected from 94 pre-service teachers attending different departments at Manisa Celal Bayar University, Faculty of Education during the 2018-2019 academic year fall semester in Turkey. Data were collected with semi-structured interview form and written interview form, developed by the author. Collected data were analyzed by using content analysis method and classified under themes. Analyses demonstrated that pre-service teachers assigned different meanings to artificial intelligence, felt basically negative emotions for artificial intelligence, and did not want to live in a world ruled by artificial intelligence. Furthermore, it was found that pre-service teachers considered that artificial intelligence could have both several benefits and risks, and it might have both positive and negative effects on education. Based on the study findings, various recommendations were presented for future studies and implementations on the topic.

AbstrakTeknik Kecerdasan Buatan (AI) berjaya digunakan dan diaplikasikan dalam pelbagai bidang, termasukpembuatan, kejuruteraan, ekonomi, perubatan dan ketenteraan. Kebelakangan ini, terdapat minat yangsemakin meningkat dalam Permainan Kecerdasan Buatan atau permainan AI. Permainan AI merujukkepada teknik yang diaplikasikan dalam permainan komputer dan video seperti pembelajaran, pathfinding,perancangan, dan lain-lain bagi mewujudkan tingkah laku pintar dan autonomi kepada karakter dalampermainan. Objektif utama kajian ini adalah untuk mengemukakan beberapa teknik yang biasa digunakandalam merekabentuk dan mengawal karakter berasaskan komputer untuk permainan Ms Pac-Man antaratahun 2005-2012. Ms Pac-Man adalah salah satu permainan yang digunakan dalam siri pertandinganpermainan diperingkat antarabangsa sebagai penanda aras untuk perbandingan pengawal autonomi.Kaedah analisis kandungan yang menyeluruh dijalankan secara ulasan dan sorotan literatur secara kritikal.Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa, walaupun terdapat berbagai teknik, limitasi utama dalam kajianterdahulu untuk mewujudkan karakter permaianan Pac Man adalah kekurangan Generalization Capabilitydalam kepelbagaian karakter permainan. Abstract Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques are successfully used and applied in a wide range of areas, includingmanufacturing, engineering, economics, medicine and military. In recent years, there has been anincreasing interest in Game Artificial Intelligence or Game AI. Game AI refers to techniques applied incomputer and video games such as learning, pathfinding, planning, and many others for creating intelligentand autonomous behaviour to the characters in games. The main objective of this paper is to highlightseveral most common of the AI techniques for designing and controlling the computer-based charactersto play Ms. Pac-Man game between years 2005-2012. The Ms. Pac-Man is one of the games that used asbenchmark for comparison of autonomous controllers in a series of international Game AI competitions.An extensive content analysis method was conducted through critical review on previous literature relatedto the field. Findings highlight, although there was various and unique techniques available, the majorlimitation of previous studies for creating the Ms. Pac-Man game characters is a lack of generalizationcapability across different game characters. The findings could provide the future direction for researchersto improve the Generalization A.I capability of game characters in the Game Artificial Intelligence market.

  The objective was to know the perception of the caregiver about the learning needs of care to be performed at home. This is an exploratory descriptive research, with a qualitative approach. Data collection occurred through a semi-structured interview, from August to October 2014, with six caregivers of patients hospitalized in a medium-sized hospital in the municipality of Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul State. The data were analyzed by the content analysis method, identifying two categories: The caregiver's perception about the learning needs; The attendance of the caregiver's learning needs. The study showed that the learning based on empirical, instinctive and observational methodologies, without the participation of the nurse in the process. There is need to improve this learning. The participation of the nurse as an educator in the planning, organization and development of the educational action stands out, since he/she is part of the care; however, the caregivers did not visualize this professional. 


It is known that studies are carried out in certain societies regarding the reasons for the occurrence of lie-telling behavior, which is one of the most important parts of human sociability. Nevertheless, studies on the reasons for lying of adults in Turkey appear to be insufficient. For this reason, the present study aimed to reveal the reasons for lying of adults in Turkey. A total of 75 people aging between 19 and 46 (Mage= 26.84) participated in this study. Participants were given a question form that had four open-ended questions prepared to reveal the reasons for self-benefiting and other-benefiting lying. The content analysis method, one of the qualitative analysis techniques, was used to analyze data. Findings showed that privacy, interference in autonomy, face-saving, fruition, avoiding a negative situation, hiding the truth and evading were the most common reasons for the self-benefiting lying. On the other hand, preventing harm, protecting others, making others happy, politeness, and preventing relationship breakdown were the most common reasons for the other-benefiting lying. Each reason for lying was discussed in comparison with the international literature and suggestions for future studies to be conducted in Turkey on this issue were presented. ABSTRACT Objective: To analyze the training and evaluation of professional competency to work in the area of pediatric nursing based on the conceptions and experiences of university professors. Method: A qualitative study conducted with pediatric nursing professors from six public undergraduate courses in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. The data were collected by semi-structured interview and analyzed by the Content Analysis method. Results: Sixteen professors participated. Five main themes emerged: competency definition, attributes to act with children, advances in the training of professional competency, challenges to enable training pediatric competency, and methods and instruments for evaluating competency acquisition to work in the area of pediatric nursing. Conclusion: The findings of this study point to the importance of a balanced approach in the cognitive, psychomotor and affective dimensions in training and evaluating professional competency in pediatric nursing, as well as extending the curricular valorization of this area of knowledge and practice.

The present study aimed to determine the effect of individual cyber security skills of pre-service teachers on their attitudes towards computer-assisted education. Thus, the present research was designed as a correlational study. The study participants included 241 senior pre-service teachers in different departments at Manisa Celal Bayar University, Faculty of Education during the 2019-2020 academic year the fall semester. The data were collected with the "Personal Cyber Security Provision Scale" and "The Attitude Toward Computer-Assisted Education Scale." Based on the study findings, pre-service teachers should improve their competency in cyber security. Furthermore, pre-service teachers who owned a personal computer had higher scores in maintaining personal cyber security and had better attitudes towards computer-assisted education. Besides, it was observed that there were differences between personal cyber security scores of pre-service teachers and their attitudes towards computer-assisted education based on their departments. Furthermore, it was identified that the personal cyber security achievement score was a significant predictor of the attitude towards computer-assisted education. In the final section of the study, various recommendations are presented for future studies and applications on the subject.

The aim of this study is to determine how cinema movies contribute to students’ learning of human rights and democracy in the 2017-2018 Academic Year Fall Semester. The research was modelled according to the pattern of action research from qualitative research methods. Research was conducted for 13 weeks in a public university in Turkey. In the Human Rights and Democracy course, 13 movies about human rights were watched, interpreted and evaluated. Structured interview form was applied to 13 students. Data was analyzed by content analysis. The findings revealed that in general movies can be useful in teaching human rights and democracy issues. In this way, it has been found that both cognitive and affective subjects can be learned permanently. It has been concluded that movies can be used effectively in value teaching and movies based on real events should be used.

The weaknesses of the enforcement and execution of a court order always become the reason for noncompliance with court orders issued by the Syariah Court. In other words, the effectiveness of enforcement mechanisms enhances compliance with orders issued by the Syariah Court. Many looked at the weaknesses of enforcement as the weaknesses of the Syariah court as the agency for implementing justice and thus undermining the position of the Islamic law. However, very little attention has been given in the literature as regards what constitutes the mechanism of enforcement and execution of a maintenance order in the Syariah Court. Hence, the purpose of this article is to examine the mechanism used pertaining to non-compliance maintenance orders. The content analysis approach was used as it is appropriate to identify the mechanism used by the selected Syariah courts in settling the enforcement and execution cases. Through the content analysis method, the background of the cases as well as the approach of the court players were identified, respectively. The data from the study then were presented in descriptive form to explain the frequency and the percentage of variables studied. The study suggests that the process of giving judgment relating to maintenance should be improved. In addition, the assimilisation between non-legal and legal processes should be well organised to ensure the effectiveness of the enforcement and execution processes. The weaknesses found should be addressed in future studies to identify the best method for better implementation. ABSTRAKKelemahan-kelemahan di dalam penguatkuasaan dan pelaksanaan sesuatu perintah mahkamah sentiasa menjadi penyebab kepada ketidakpatuhan terhadap perintah-perintah mahkamah yang dikeluarkan oleh Mahkamah Syariah. Dalam ertikata lain, keberkesanan mekanisma penguatkuasaan meningkatkan pematuhan terhadap perintah yang dikeluarkan oleh Mahkamah Syariah. Kelemahan penguatkuasaan dilihat sebagai kelemahan Mahkamah Syariah itu sendiri sebagai sebuah agensi untuk melaksanakan keadilan yang mana turut memberi kesan kepada undang-undang Islam. Walaubagaimanapun, tidak banyak literatur yang membincangkan mengenai apa yang dikatakan sebagai mekanisma penguatkuasaan dan pelaksanaan perintah berkaitan nafkah di Mahkamah Syariah. Oleh itu, artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji mekanisma yang digunakan sekiranya berlaku ketidakpatuhan terhadap perintah-perintah berkaitan nafkah. Pendekatan analisis kandungan digunakan kerana ianya sesuai bagi mengenalpasti mekanisma yang digunakan oleh Mahkamah-mahkamah Syariah terpilih dalam menyelesaikan kes-kes berkaitan penguatkuasaan dan pelaksanaan. Melalui metode ini, latarbelakang kes dan juga pendekatan pegawai-pegawai mahkamah dikenalpasti. Data yang diperolehi daripada kajian kemudiannya dibentangkan dalam bentuk deskriptif bagi menjelaskan frekuensi dan peratusan varians yang dikaji. Kajian mencadangkan bahawa proses bagaimana sesuatu perintah berkaitan dengan nafkah itu dikeluarkan hendaklah dipertingkatkan. Seterusnya, asimilasi di antara proses bukan perundangan dan perundangan sepatutnya lebih tersusun untuk memastikan keberkesanan proses penguatkuasaan dan pelaksanaan. Kelemahankelemahan yang dikenalpasti hendaklah dinyatakan di dalam kajian akan datang bagi mengenalpasti metode yang terbaik bagi pelaksanaan yang lebih baik.

It is commonly known that mathematics is used in many subjects in physics and chemistry courses and the relations between mathematics and variables are more easily understood. These courses also comprise a number of equations that correspond to a mathematical correlation and are also called formulas. Therefore, the aim of the present study is to determine the level of science teachers to verbally express the meaning of the equations given and comprehension of the mathematical structure of equations.The data obtained with the help of open-ended questions were analyzed by the content analysis method, one of the qualitative research methods. According to the data obtained, code, category and themes were created.The study was carried out with science teacher candidates studying at the Faculty of Education of Uludag University in the 2017 and 2018 academic year. When the obtained data were evaluated, it was found that majority of the teacher candidates had difficulty in expressing fully the concept of equation, and in perceiving the mathematical structure of the equations and in drawing the graphs of the equations.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan bagaimana implementasi pendidikan karakter ISMUBA ((Al - Islam, Muhammadiyah dan bahasa Arab) di sekolah-sekolah Muhammadiyah Salatiga pada tahun akademik 2012/2013. Dalam studi ini, peneliti menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan beragam yaitu filosofis, fenomenologi, dan psikologi. Metode konten analisis digunakan sebagai metode analisis. Melalui metode, pendekatan dan analisis tersebut, ditemukan bahwa hal terpenting adalah implementasi pendidikan karakter di sekolah-sekolah Muhammadiyah, termasuk sekolah-sekolah Muhammadiyah Salatiga, telah ada sejak lama, sebelum hal tersebut diutarakan oleh pemerintah Indonesia. Pendidikan karakter di sekolah-sekolah Muhammadiyah diimplementasikan dalam karakter-karakter khusus mata pelajaran dengan nama ISMUBA (Al - Islam, Muhammadiyah dan bahasa Arab). Ini adalah mata pelajaran yang penting yang bertujuan dalam pembentukan karakters iswa, ini adalah karakter keislaman dalam nuansa Muhammadiyah. Saat ISMUBA sukses diaplikasikan, hal ini akan membentuk siswa yang Islami dengan semangat Muhammadiyah. This study is aimed to reveal about how the implementation of the character education of ISMUBA (Al - Islam, Muhammadiyah and Arabic) in Salatiga Muhammadiyah schools in the academic year of 2012/2013. In this study, the researcher used qualitative methods with multiple approaches namely philosophical, phenomenological, and psychological approaches. The content analysis method is utilized as its analytical method. Through those methods, approaches and analysis, it was found that the most important thing is the implementation of character education in Muhammadiyah schools, including Salatiga Muhammadiyah schools, was existed since long time ago, before it was proclaimed by the Indonesia’s government. Character education in Muhammadiyah schools was implemented on particular characteristics of subjects, namely ISMUBA (Al - Islam, Muhammadiyah and Arabic). This is a very significant subject which is essentially oriented in the students’ character building, it is religious character (Islamic) in Muhammadiyah nuance.
